Dear Cindy,

Thebes Casino wants to send you to Luxor!

Deposit a total of $25,000 in the Casino this month, and youll be eligible for a stay at the famous Las Vegas Luxor Hotel.

The package includes first class airfare, 3 nights in luxury suite, $5000 in playing chips, and two tickets to see the Cirques du Soleil. Its a Christmas gift youll never forget.

At Thebes Casino, the difference is the luxury. Well see you there.

See you at the Luxor,

Obivously they made the mistake of thinking the players have the IQ of a glass of water!!!

Perhaps.....
There are people who do deposit 25,000 a month. So for them it is just an added perk. Or maybe some who deposit say 20,000 and this gives them an incentive to deposit a bit more.
Also there is no guarantee they will lose the money they deposit

just another angle

This would be even more funny if this "offer" was sent to players that usually deposit $100 or less each time.

Let's see. (most #'s are guessing)

1st class plane ticket = ~$1500
Show tickets = ~$300
3 night lux. suite: $3000
$5000 in gaming chips = $5,000

Grand total: $9,800. Let's just say $10K to be safe.

So like VegasBum said, if you normally deposit this amount and you lose, you could consider this as a "cash back" offer; and at ~ 40%, it's not a bad deal.

You are right until they send it to low rollers

Don't forget that the prize is not a given.....it's a chance, which makes it that much more laughable. :D

well damn im out I only deposit $50 a pop let alone 25K I think I would have a stroke depositing that much:eek2:

Cindy:)

If CM had a category for the years most ridiculous bonus, this would have to be in the top two......ya think?:lolup:

I think the deal is pretty good.
People seem to be forgetting they get to play with the $25k they deposit. I wonder if this thing has any play thru requiements! If not and if you have the money and mostly win when playing it could be a nice arrangement.

This is poor marketing from the casino. The amount of players depositing this kind of money each month would be small, so the casino has no excuse but to only target this bracket of player. Rather than its seemingly aimless approach of inviting all players.

In order for the casino to run a successful marketing campaign it should be researching its target audience. Clearly in this case it has failed to do that. So this kind of promotion is bordering on spam, because to your average player its a non event.

Talk about stupid promo's

This is far from stupid it's down right moronic.

I dare say a couple of chimps could come up with a better promo than these bozos.

This really deserves an award for the lamest, dumb assed promo devised by a casino, surely!

Thanks for the post cindy

Cheers

:)

It actually says you "will be eligible for...". That to me says its a given, not a chance?

If it is a given, then actually I think it's quite decent. To someone who might normally play that money at several casinos over a month, it's worth them playing it all at Thebes. They might even win, although I assume there must be a WR attached or otherwise it represents a 40% cashback offer (based on the $10k cost calculation earlier in the thread) as far as the casino is concerned which could easily eat up any profits.

Call me a party pooper, but if I were playing that sort of money, and "elligible" meant it's a given, it would definitely appeal to me.

As for sending it to low-rollers, there's no harm in sending it to everyone. They might be a low roller with Thebes, but they might play a lot elsewhere and this is all about getting them to play it at Thebes after all. Plus you'd get into more hot water if people thought they were being labelled or discriminated against. Or it could p!ss people off by the casino taking them for someone not worthy of the offer.

I wonder if this idea actually came from Publishers Clearinghouse? Millions of us were always "Eligible For the Grand Prize". I never even won a roll of teepee from them, but I was eligible everytime.
Sending it out to us micro players is not only stupid but insulting, just like with all casinos sending out there promo emails that are always designed around the people with the highest wagers. Who the hell can compete with that? Again, insulting to the micro players.
It also tells me that casinos are more interested in landing the whales in the nets and throwing out the shad.
The micro player is being pushed out and the in your face promos is evident of it.

If this were at an ACCREDITED casino, I would probably have given this one serious consideration, provided there were no catches, such as there being a requirement to LOSE the 25K. I would look at other promotions running alongside, such as scoreboard wager challenges, and if these were promos I would be playing anyway, would just put THROUGH the required 25K, although this would not (hopefully) COST me 25K.
