the old vs the new

i used to be a die hard mg player back when things were great online for the usa, with all the softwares available i swore by mg and sometimes played rtg but know even the mg that i can still play on feel like i have no shot at hitting anything.the last 4 mg deposits i've done were 2 to royal vegas and 2 to music hall and if you combine all 4 i may of had 45 minutes of play with no more than $3 over my deposit at anytime and to top it off they refused to give me a birthday chip.
now as far as rtg goes, i only play at inet and club world(will soon try bodog) and the same thing happens , money in start playing and money gone in minutes but at least club world gave me $5 for my b-day.
lo and behold the new guys are poutting the old guys to shame from play time to customer service, i,ve cased out from 3 dice and superior and it didn't take an act of god or congress and now simon says keeps giving me free chips i don't even ask for cuz i'm still playing on their initial free $20, its amazing how these guys get it and the old guys don't

Old - you could win and get paid
New- you might win and probably won't get paid and if you do the check will bounce and it takes an act of congress (no pun intended) to get the check replaced.

Not worth the trouble to me to jump through the flaming hoops and just when you think you've made it they turn the gas on full blast and burn you everytime just to play online. Rather drive the 2 hours to the real casino, at least they give me guaranteed free money every month no questions asked, free rooms, free food, etc (2 of the 3 things I've never even been offered from an online casino). Now that I think about it, an online casino can't even start to compete with a land based, not by a long shot.

I have always wondered about online casino marketing. They get you in and they're 'thrilled'. And that's it. The majority just don't seem to give a flying rat's butt whether you stay or not. INetBet and Mummy's were two of the best (to me) re: retaining players.

Slowly but surely, beginning March of last year, online play got worse for me. (couldn't win) By October '06, I'd cut my usual deposits back to less than half what they once were. Most of the casinos cared litle if I played or not. (Mummy's missed me, but they soon blocked US players anyway.) Bonuses/comps all but dried up. From Oct. on it was even worse, and some of my favorite casinos blocked US play -- so I was only making itty bitty deposits every now and then. In Jan., NETeller locked us out and I quit altogether. I'd been losing (and not having fun -- $50/10 minutes does not equate to 'fun') so it finalized my resolve to just save my money for B&M trips. Online casinos have given me no incentive or reason for me to continue giving them my money.

The AP 'hole card' mess also has me worried about online security and fairness at any/all casinos in general. If it could happen at AP, it could happen at casinos? May be happening now?

The problems encountered for US players simply to deposit and withdraw (should lightning strike) make playing online too much of a hassle. If I'm losing hand over fist and rarely get a bonus, why bother jumping through hoops?

That is sooooo very true!
And I agree with the original thread-starter too - spot on.
Of all the MG casinos I play the only one's who make a serious effort are The Palace Group & 32Red - neither any good for USA players.
Ladbrokes have some nice unique promos which are usually very generous WR-wise, and Belle Rock do offer UK players a monthly, though it's not terribly obvious as they never e-mail me about it. These are no good in USA either!

Intercasino still remains the leader for non-USA players, but now Will Hills has gone tits-up (bonus-wise).

Grand Virtual offer frequent decent bonuses (usually 50% sticky), but again, no USA.
PlayTech's are generally just a waste of space (virtually no incentives to go back).

As for casinos available in America, you have the RTG's of course, which are fine as long as you avoid the rogues and don't mind sending them all your personal details & your life story if you want to cash out. Then you have Rival who do offer loads of repeat bonuses and 3-Dice who don't, but at least their cash-outs are damn quick!

All in all, as a gambler I'm bloody glad I live on this side of the pond! ;)
(Though mind you, if the dollar goes much lower I could sell my house, retire VERY early & move over there! It's $2.10 / 1 now!)

Kasinoking, the pound is nearly 3-1 to the aussie dollar... why not move here? It's already invaded by a horde of poms too!

Well actually 3Dice has a bonus for every deposit, (as long as you've played enough before) You can claim you comppoints as a 20% reload bonus with only 1x playthough, if I remember correctly. Okay not like the normal reloads, but nice for a change.. :)

On another note.. Please, please somebody make this dollar worth more, I'm getting sc**wed with my aff. commissions.. Commission in dollars, payout at the atm, euros.. you do the math

Re

I am thinking or trying rival myself on the next deposit. I just took a 20 free chip on simon says, and got a lot more play out of it that I have in a long time at an rtg. At least on the 3 reel slots I did. Got red sevens, blue sevens, etc, I tried the video slots and went bust.

I feel though that rtg does not care to retain its US players anymore .
I have heard rival thows in more bonuses, etc and seem to want to keep thier business. When I loose a bunch of money, I like to know Im at least appreciated, lol

let me tell you all that for sure rival and 3 dice get it, my 3dice money arrived in the mail today along with my thank you note exactly 2 days after i cashed out, great job 3dice and keep up the great work......also superior gave me $20 free to try them and the no deposit free chips are the only type of bonus i use, if i deposit i don't want my money spoiled by wr and rules to keep me playing, but i cashed out $200 from their free chip and it went to my qt without sending docs in a matter of a couple days and this also arrived in my bank account today, so now they gave me another free $10 chip, so good for you superior.......simon says gave me free $20 that i have up to $50 now and i have another free $20 and a free $10 sitting in the cashier waiting for me......THESE GUYS GET IT!

I feel i must add another to that list of casinos that make an effort KK, you may not be a member of them but if your not i suggest you give them a go. ive found jackpot City to be an excellent casino and part of an excellent group in my eyes. Regular weekly offers of (usually 100% bonuses) with a fairly high match cap and always free spin competitions and draws. Won a few of those 2 :) Well worth a shot

I like opening my new Rival casinos, it's like christmas morning, there's often a little prezzy for moi:D And they keep on giving even if you're winning... too cool. We can only hope that they will reward loyalty as well after they reach their target market share, and no reason to think they won't, they're Rival. But for guys like us, who don't use bonuses, what can they do? Send a box of cigars or a bottle of scotch? Sure, they can:D But I'll feel fortunate if they simply keep up the excellent customer service and throw me a bone now and then.

And what can I add about 3Dice? They're simply the best:thumbsup:

Re

Well I tried rival out today. Made my first deposit there. Didnt win anything, but I like it for the mos part . I didnt any features on the video slots, but did well on the three wheels.

been hearing good things about rival, but they are not on any of the accredited lists here, i think. and i believe they accept u.s. players so which one would you guys recommend to start with? their slots do look interesting. sorry to get off the original topic, but i didn't want to start another post to ask my question.

i only play at 3dice right now because i also agree that they are simply the best, but it would be nice to try something different once in a while.

Hippo,

Try Simon says. I have been paid after they asked for docs but it only took them seceral hours to clear the docs. You get more features on their slots than MG or RTG but the payouts are mostly low on the free spins. One thing you musnt do is play their paigow or baccarat games. The former is flawed (discussed at another thread) and the latter too streaky on too many occasions for my liking. Good Luck.

thanks chuchu,

i remember reading about the paigow thing, forgot it was rival casinos. but i do remember the rival guy being very helpful and determined to rectify the problem.

i think i might give simon says a go just to see what their slots are like.

thanks again :D

Re

wow.
Deposited and played yesterday. Then went in today and there is 10 dollar free chip available . Not bad. Played some 10 cent slots with it had it up to $50 but lost again on the video slots. I havnt tried thier poker out yet.

Was playing Rival today also, loved the Cleopatra coins.

Or could just be because I love cartoon women, not sure which one yet :p

ooo ooo ooo I like cartoon women too, especially cat woman:) Does johnny flame have a mistress?

I've always liked the egyptophile slots, anything of antiquity presented respectfully. the cobra could have been an asp, but a symbol is a symbol :)

So good to see you solarrocker:thumbsup:

Expose yourself solarrocker, just a little:) Most here won't remember that you work in the industry. (it was awesome of you to offer insights that I never availed myself of) and your fun wildcard thread, 'where in the world' was so cool.

Have you introduced yourself to our Host yet? Please do.

PLEASE stick around and participate; open honest people like you are the last great hope, even when shy:) I'll keep the the freaks off, if I can.

Bring it! I'm thinking of a place in baraka where the mammals soak in foggy hot water, where buildings are empty in brazil, where canyons soar... no i'm just wishing you baraka - because baraka is a blessing.

Lol, just now saw this post, sorry wasn't ignoring just that posts here go by so fast that it hard to keep track sometimes if you away for 2 - 3 days.

And I'm sorry but because I really do not wish to promote any of the places I worked or work at I rather not say. I rather just help where I can and do what I can. Mostly because most of the places I work at have already a personal host in this forum. I just come here to make sure players that do have problems where I work will get a reply pretty much ASAP, next to try to bring some fun.

I'm here mostly because I try to do all I can for the players and the places I work at. And of course give any insight I can without giving to much security away.
