The Attic

Wondering why new posts in The Attic section hasn't been showing up when I do a *new post* search. Missed alot of threads because they weren't showing up.
And The Attic only shows up in the Forum Jump drop down panel when I'm actually in the Attic. It won't show up in the panel if I'm in another section of the forum.
How can I remedy that problem?

Bryan, this may be more than a single-user problem. When I use the "New Posts" link, neither the Jokes nor the Attic show up.

In the "Forum Jump" drop-down, the Jokes do show up as a selection, but neither the Attic nor Birthdays do.

Can't say how long it's been like this: I just realized when I read Heather's post that I hadn't seen any new Attic or Joke posts for quite some time when using the "New Posts" link...

Jokes don't show up for me either. From what I can tell it seems to have started(for me) around the first of May.
I am so glad someone else has this problem too and I don't mean that in a negative way. At least I know it isn't just me.

P.S. I have noticed that, lets say, I'm viewing the winners screenshot and while I'm still in that thread, I scroll down to the drop down panel. The Attic, Jokes, Birthdays will show up then. When I go back to the main forum and click the drop down panel, its nowhere to be seen. Most important, posts/threads just don't show up at all when I click on new posts.

I chose to deselect the Attic, Jokes, and anything else that has nothing to do with gambling from the "New Posts" function.

If this is a "must have", I could change it

There has been a lot of good stuff taken away from the forum lately that I for one really liked about this place that made it special for all of us, the main one being our messaging capability on our home pages and now this...why all the changes for the worse around here lately ? You had implemented all of these changes to make the forum a better more unique experience for all of us and a way of socializing with our friends and neighbors in a very special way...it was like you gave us a Mercedes to drive for a couple of months and then you took it back to give us a Kia...

Has the quick links - today's posts been changed also? It does not seem to be working the same as before. I tended to use this link more than the new posts link.
I also wish the messaging function for our home pages hadn't been taken away. Looks like a simple warning on the page stating that messages posted here are NOT private would suffice. Doesn't seem to be that complicated. Also the owner of the page had the option to delete posts......correct?

Oh yes! This is a MUST have.

P.S. Could you also think about reinstating the visitor messaging? I hardly use it but my buddies really want it back.

The only thing that was turned off was the Visitor Messaging that IMO is relatively redundant - and is problematic since it can be confused with "Private" messaging. Like mentioned in another thread, it's back on now but has been renamed "Public Guestbook". Makes more sense now.

When I turned off the VM, I installed the Casinomeister Blogs hoping that the Blogs would make up for the loss of the VWs - guess not

The issues of the Jokes etc. not showing up in the New posts, Jump to threads were taken on after complaints that the forum was losing it's direction as a Online Gambling related forum. This was after the Wild Cards meltdown last winter. I can fix that.

Perhaps there's a case to be made here for a Casinomeister user survey/poll on what each member regards as important/must have in order of priority?

A survey would be a good idea to see what's up in members' minds. I'll see about putting one together.

Having the same problem as I was having before. They aren't showing up on the drop down panel unless I'm in another section of the forum other than the main forum.
I believe a few others are having the same problem.

I upgraded the software lat Friday, so it may have modified a template or two. I'll try to check it out tomorrow. Thanks for the heads up BTW
