I was taught at school that you do not put a comma before an and and here on the forum it can be difficult at times to decipher some of the posts people post and that is often on account of a lack of punctuation and so I looked on wikipedia and found this thing where some geezer was apparently writing about using hyphens between the words Fish and and and and and Chips on a Fish and Chips sign and realised his sentence might make more sense with quotation marks placed before Fish and between Fish and and and and and and and and and and and and and and and and and and and and and Chips and after Chips too

I am the comma and that's not drama queen , I type the way I would if I were speaking to you and there is hardly any member on here that I can not read what they typed , it is being a good reader plus I really pay little attention to any grammar police , I have been posting here to many years for that chit:D

Brilliant. :D
The use of the comma before a conjunction is often correct, especially where it joins two independent clauses ( clauses that could be sentences in their own right).
The use of a comma before the many 'ands' in your example of a list is called an Oxford Comma. Some schools use it some don't. We had to use it at school and when I started writing for work half the subs would accept it and half would correct it. So in the case of the Oxford comma, do whatever you like!

Woahh how nerdy was that? Sorry!

My favorite punctuation joke:

Let's eat grandma!
Let's eat, grandma!
Punctuation saves lives.

lol, over at 3Dice Ellen plays a game called he said/she said where she saves odd typos or interesting snippets that can come back and haunt you as everyone guesses what player said it

one involving me was mentioning to another player that my dog was not yet fixed and the response was along the lines of
'better neuter Dio' v 'better neuter, Dio'

'who can only speak 'text-speak' lol LMAO (and the rest of the bollocks too...)

And my kids wonder why I don't text, faster to call and say what the hell did you just text me. Is this what I get for the 12 years of private schooling for your asses and yes that's what I say to them, I expect better from my children , grown or not !!

I wanted them to have things better than I did growing up , I think we have made it worse on our children sometimes, they have no concept of just paper and pen and family board games.

Young people these days are just lazy when it comes to writing or reading , they depend on the computer or other gadgets too much.

How many times has anyone gone into a store and gave the clerk an odd amount over their purchase so you could get a bill back instead of change and the clerk could not make change for you with out getting out a calculator , it just drives me crazy !

I rarely text....the cell is pretty much for the bf and I to locate each other in the casino or say dont bother putting dinner on, or meet you at bar at 10 etc....but....I hate the keyboard and suck at typing on it, so I'm all for quick 'k'....'ttyl' etc....phoning one another when one's at work is too awkward when a 2 second text suffices

lol, I just thought of that one thing I saw on lamebook, the guy was talking about his grandpa being in the hospital. The first time I saw this I just howled - not so much from the first thing but from his response to the person who told him to use a comma.

Hello

If a comma in a sentence would allow me to earn a good online casino jackpot... Or make me a better player...
perhaps the post was in the right place...

Not everyone has English as their native language.

Thank you

Perhaps the worst use of English or any other language are posts that read like this:-

Reams of text without the beauty of paragraphs only make my brain think what I am actually seeing is a:-
