I am curious to know what are things that are an instant red flag for you when signing up to a new casino. Sometimes these 'things' will stop you in your tracks and make you turn round and go the other way. Other 'things' may occur during sign up or shortly after.

Here are a few red flags for me:

Poor transition between mobile device and desktop - The mobile and desktop experience should be pretty similar and seemless to go between them, however that is not always the case. I like to test it out very early on and if there big differences then this can quickly put me off.

Lack of clarity and hidden or hard to find information - Don't make me go searching for details about whether bonus cash is bundled with your deposit, don't hide your licensing or bury it somewhere, don't make it difficult to find terms, that really sucks and is a red flag for me.

Politeness costs nothing: I know some of the cs agents get a bit fatigued with answering the same questions over and over or getting regular dumb questions. But this site is new to me and I don't know how they operate. There is nothing worse then getting a snarky reply to a simple question or request.

I'm only interested in the things that are red flags for you at the point of sign up, not later down the track - that's a whole different thread sometime

So what are reg flags for you at a new casino?

Don't really join many new ones that often, especially compared to back in the day lol....

Not so much red flags but here are a few green flags that would turn a "maybe" in to a "going for it!"

Active and helpful rep on here (Jan has seen me move 50%+ of my budget from VS to their brands recently, including joining their QuickBet brand)

Sponsorship and TV advertising (not ideal but seeing names on big brans and primary TV channels (not Sky 'B' Channels) would encourage me to think I'll be paid if I win)

BBF on here, again with responsive rep

No negativity or bad reviews online

Positive experiences from 'real life' associates (not that I have many these days lol :o)

You be lucky to find any casino in this day and age without bad reviews somewhere. A look round TrustPilot and you are lucky if you find any with over 2 stars. Although some of that is disgruntled gamblers that have lost their shirt betting more than they can afford.

I tend to like those casinos that do care about their reputation and you made a good point about reps at forums like Casinomeister. Sometimes this can stop a lot of the bad reviews when you engage with your player base. I agree Jan, Mark, Anna, and several other reps do a great job of promoting their businesses well.

Yeah agreed, I should have expanded more on the reviews thing.

I (very) rarely go looking around the web, especially TP and other places, I tend to base my decisions 95% on CM, which has to be a good thing right?

When you click a game thinking it’s one of your faves and it clicks through to a different one.

When withdrawals take 2 business days

When you can’t close an account, I’ve one I want to close but you don’t seem able to? Why shouldn’t you be able to close them for no other reason than I don’t like the site

- No company info in footer/terms
- No address mentioned
- The use of "we/us/ etc" in terms
- Withdrawal limits of less than 5k a day
- Cheap/Unknown games/providers

it rare that i sign up to new casinos any more cos they are all reduced rtp crap, and if i need that videoslots has it covered already, but on the rare impossible occasion that it still has 96% rtps (on games which can be set lower) that is all the convincing I need, the most recent one being slots temple and before that mr q but even mr q are getting new games in at 94 now.
