I made my phone calls for the day!

None of us can do this alone -- not Barack Obama, not you, not any of us. It's going to take reaching out more than ever before, trying ways of organizing that have never been tried before.

Please spread the word about Neighbor to Neighbor and do what you can to get more people involved:

----------------------------------------
I just learned about Neighbor to Neighbor, an exciting new tool that allows us to print off lists of our neighbors, or voters in key battleground states, to contact about this campaign and this movement.

I know sometimes the political process seems impossible, superficial, and gridlocked. But we're changing that. We're building a campaign of the people, by the people, and for the people.

So please take a moment to learn more about how you can help with our new Neighbor to Neighbor tool, here's the link to our training page:

Thanks for getting involved - we can't do this without you.

I have a stupid question for you Robin, and I don't mean to derail your thread, but I have been lurking around this forum for quite some time, and joined in July, but I have never seen you post before until now.

You post more than anybody else it seems.

I noticed you put your links in your signature so I went and checked out your sites and such, and it was such a suprise that you don't post on your own forum like you do here.

So my question to you is Why?:D

I treat unsolicited campaign calls the same way I treat telemarketing calls. I hang up. That's basically the same thing that's going on here - people are trying to SELL Obama.

Unless people are living under a rock, they know what's going on, and will vote for whomever they feel will best lead this country.

why not just put a sign up in your front lawn like i did or put a sticker on your car, i agree with winbig, nothing, i hate more than strange people knocking at my door either trying to sell a candidate or preach to me:mad:...i will buy girl scout cookies though...always a sucker for the mint ones:D....laurie

If you don't like my post then find something else to do! Go out an campaign for McPalin or something productive! :D

Just think in nine more days it will all be over!

I'll be back with more information that I feel I want to post WHEN i'm ready. See ya soon!

Robin, please don't. I know a captive audience must be a really fun thing to have, but being forced to tolerate things we find contrary to our beliefs really sucks IMO.

this is such an important election, i hope all americans that have not yet registered will do so and get out and vote, whether republican, democrat or independent it is a right that we all need to take part in, now more than ever..........im taking several people when i go that dont have a way to get there, so that they can vote, and guess what, they are democrats, it doesnt matter to me as long as they vote....................laurie...............

I voted for Al Gore the last time I voted for a President. Well that didn't go too well, as we know. Since everything happens for a reason, Gore was not supposed to be the man in the oval office when 9/11 happened. OK, I'm cool with that, but it took a long time to get cool with that:D (NOT 9/11, prolly will never be cool with that:mad:)

So I will happily vote next month and bring as many folks as I can with me to the polls (anyone know if there are trailer hitchs for power chairs?)

Oh, so you think that since I don't agree with your techniques, that I support McCain/Palin?

I reckon you are a plant Gamtrak.
You are probably a Republican through and through, God knows you would certainly of switched me off for voting for Obama by now.
For somebody who is so absorbed in politics I would of thought you understood that diplomacy plays a big part in trying to win people over to your point of view.
You give me the impression you would happily live in a dictatorship as long as it served your own beliefs and self interests.

Obama draws more than 100,000 in Denver.

:notworthy :notworthy :notworthy

DENVER Back in the city where he claimed history, Barack Obama presided Sunday over a Colorado rally so enormous and energetic that even he seemed surprised at his following.

"Goodness gracious," Obama said as he took the stage and peered at the human mass in Denver's Civic Center Park. Smelling victory, Obama supporters were everywhere, packing even the steps of the state Capitol way off in the distance.

In a campaign of huge Obama rallies across the United States, the Denver gathering topped them all. Local police put the crowd estimate at "well over" 100,000 people.

Have a nice day.

To tell ya the truth I can't wait for all this crap to end.
I think they both are &%*& but I am going in the McCain/Palin way and i'm a true democrat
Mojo said it well.
Who cares about who we put in office lets all fight to bring home the troops and end this stupid ass war.
You get alot of hardship talking politics to people.
Is it worth it. No
Are the two candidates going to pay you off No maybe for some that kiss@
This is all crazy S*&^ over Bull%$##@ over two that think they are God and they want a change.
They all talk the crap & do nothing in the next four years.
Who ever we put in at the end of the term lets see who keeps their word.
And I bet it will be none of them.

I made that mistake once before and I never will again. There is some distortion on what are the real issues of our nation. I guess it depends on how you look at it.
I won't discuss online gambling and who the best candidate for that is. I won't discuss the subprime mortgage fiasco. Nor the shameful oil subject. Or the numerous other fkd up stuff our government has done.
I am mainly concerned with our military. The reason why is because my son is out there. He has already done two deployments overseas. There are kids in many towns accross the us doing the same. Some have lost their lives. Yes, I am totally focused on our sons and daughters who are protecting the rest of us. I want them home. That is my main concern. I know, and keep in mind, that the comments here are not meant towards our brave kids who are serving. I am just a mom who spends six months in denial while my son is away. I have a hard time worrying about the small stuff.
That is why I don't discuss politics on forums. However, I think I just did.
Thank you for listening.

Oh and I forgot to add
Why The ^$%$#$ would I spend the time on the phone getting votes for any of them.
This is why they make yard signs.
Are they going to pay you for that time you spend on the phone "No"
My time is worth more than talking about who we want in the White House.
Think about Family & Friends and not the ass we want to run for the Top Job of this nation.

My own personal observation is this: In my 46 years of life (the first 10 don't really count too much lol). Ive never seen anyone in my family, circle of friends or anyone else that I personally know change their mind because of what anyone said to them.

People know who they want and most of them wont change their minds, that is why I make generalized statements in the politcal threads. Im not here to change anyone's minds because to tell you the truth, Just like online casino games, I feel the results are predetermined anyway, The Gore/Bush election proved that for me.

Im just curious Gamtrak...Ive been here for approx 2 years and Ive never seen any posts from you. Is this your way of "knocking on doors" so to speak? Not a cut down, Its just I dont see posts anywhere else in this site from you and just wondering if you go from site to site instead of door to door and when its over you'll leave until next election?

It kind of a cool concept for people who cant get out of the house but maybe it shouldnt be so forcefull (so many posts). After all, you are (or seem) to be just a guest in our house. I just feel newcomers would catch more bees with honey:)

That's an excellent question. Why doesn't Gamtrak have political threads at her own site like she has here? Maybe she doesn't want to turn off her own members, but here, it doesn't matter? Or maybe the audience there is too small?

*cough*

'Nuff said.

Appreciate your position Spear.....I really do! As I have added GamTrak to my ignore list I can only look for the snipped threads to vanish and thus know we have convinced GamTrak we ain't digging her schtick. But it's a free country and a free forum! I really think we gave Gamtrack her 15 minutes and have suggested, ad nauseum, that she give it a rest. Time will tell if we have been successful (or you could put us all on vacation.........)
