Swedish license - Should I stay or should I go?

Energy Casino have just pulled out of Sweden as they won't be getting a license, but L&L have theirs now and are adding Novomatic for Sweden, so some good news I suppose.

Yes I do agree the changes you mentioned here are great and should exist everywhere. In Finland casinos are not allowed to advertise on any channels broadcasted from Finland but ones coming from outside the country such as MTV are not subject to it so most of their especially later at night are online casinos. Thankfully I don't really watch tv but I agree there's no need for gambling ads to be there. The only thing I don't like is the bonus rule and that's what I was referring to in my last message. I just feel the benefit from not offering more than a sign-up bonus is negligible and the cons far outweigh that.

I think the casinos will find a way around the law in form of purchable bonuses without promo ads

I'm here to let you guys and gals know, what I know has been in your mind and keeping you from sleep these past couple of months. We are indeed going to keep our Swedish players and we've had the licence secured for quite some time.
We're excited to see what this licence might bring :)

Our streamers will get a minor setback due to this, not like many other casinos, but a minor setback. As we only offer a 80% deposit bonus with maximum of €240/£240 for our streamers, and the size of the affiliate/streamer doesn't matter.

To be fair I think that the Swedish responsible gaming will be more secure than the UK, and they have pretty strict rules, due to the BankID and as you mentioned a central database. Not saying that the UK system isn't secured, but I think the Swedish personal data system is more efficient. This has and always be a priority for us and should be for everyone else. But to be fair there is so much you can do when handling so many people. And the BankID system will definitely help with keeping a better control.

Overall, I think this will be a great stepping stone for the Swedish market and we're really looking forward to see how this will work out :)

You've already changed my currency which makes it feel very odd for me to play, but I know you had to, but when will we start logging in with BankID? Will you have the same as Videoslots so we have to use our mobiles, or do we get the choice to use our normal computers when we log in?

You have already removed most bonuses. Will there be anything for us normal players who don't take part in your races? Otherwise I see no point for me playing there at all.

Mails will be sent when we launch it, we don't have a specific date at the moment because we are still working on some finishing touches.
You will be able to log in through both desktop and mobile :)

There will be other things we're able to give except bonus money, so there will be a system set up by the first of January. What it is? You will just have to wait and see ;)
 
I just got an email from Guts or I assume it's from Guts. They are opening a new casino called Guts Express. Probably only for us from Sweden.

What irritates me is that there is no other information going out. Nothing about them closing our accounts at Guts, or when they will do it.
Nothing so far from Rizk either. 11 days to go :rolleyes:

...and I guess it's a lot easier to just create a new website than change the real one. It will be no promotions at all for us. Absolutely none!

This was interesting! I just got an email from CasinoEuro with two choices, either I leave them and sign up to a sistercasino or I continue to play with them even though they won't have a Swedish license.
I had no idea that some would accept us to continue playing if we wanted too.
If that's true I rather stay there since I know who runs it.

So what will the Swedish gaming authority or whatever they are called think of that ? Are they allowed to let Swedish people play if they have no licence?

I believe they are, just like I should be allowed to decide. I could never imagine that outsides websites would be blocked in any way, but I know that they want outside gambling sites to have a warning sign for Swedish players about them not being licensed here. Then the banks maybe could stop them in some ways but I'm not sure about that.

We're still in the EU so it's an open market in many ways. I wonder what will happen if Uk won't stay though, when it comes to gambling.

You can now login without Mobile BankID @ Videoslots.

We've created Guts Xpress for players who do not like promotions bonuses emails and things like that. Which is why it's a Pay'N'Play website where there's no bonuses/cashback or anything.

We also do not give out bonuses via chat or via email as it's bonus free website for players to just want to play and it is available for all who reside in Sweden, Germany & Finland who only have bank-ID.

Exactly what happened to Thrills then, and I haven't received a single email from them since the change.

So my normal account at Guts, what will happen to that?
 
Your normal account at Guts, will remain there, with the same details everything.

If you have a different currency than SEK for instance, your account will be closed and automatically re-opened with an account in SEK due to the new regulation.

Guts Xpress is a sister casino so it does not affect your (Guts account). Think of it like another Casino that started up but a sister casino to Guts.

Looks quite straight copy of Thrills, so can't see much creation here ;) But at least you have it for some countries. Any idea when MTS have Swedish license?

Well, Thrills has cashback of 10% meanwhile Guts Xpress, we do not have any promotions or bonuses, this is just for players to play beautifully crafted games and not receive any promotions/bonuses or emails/texts about it.

We've just gone public with it just an hour ago give or take with the information that we've received our license for the Swedish market.

Great to see you got license on time! I really didn't mean to be rude or anything, just when you open Gutsxpress and Thrills, their layout seem very similar. Happy you got license and Sweds can enjoy your brands :thumbsup:

My guess is that it will be impossible to manage to handle all who's left before the end of the year. It's just two work days next week and my guess is that it will be a very empty office dealing with applications :)
Obviously they are doing a good job going through them. Even I have been forced to help with some translations that wasn't approved. It's good to know.
 
By the way, the Alea brands (Slotsmillion and Lady Luck's) will be removed from Sweden on Dec 29th. They won't be getting their licence until at least the second quarter of 2019 so until then no Sweden.

Now I was talking about those who are giving out license from Sweden. They don't work on holidays :D
 
Just heard from White Hat Gaming - (Caddell casinos). They will be operating in the Swedish market but need to restructure so will be asking players to withdraw funds before 31 Dec. The casinos will be redesigned and open again sometime in the new year once compliant.

I dunno - I am just updating this thread each time a casino's affiliate programme tells us what to do as regards the Swedish market. I imagine they might get one in future, it seems more casinos DO value the Swedish market than ones which don't.

Edit - just confirmed that Vera John and Intercasino definitely staying in the Swedish market.

Maybe they are referring to casinos based outside EU? If I remember correctly, in Sweden (like in Finland) winnings from non-EU operators are taxable income (disclaimer: I'm not an expert on Swedish law).

No we have never been asked to do that before and I haven't heard anything earlier about that changing.
It seems now when I read what those casinos say who are not getting a license, that they are not allowed to give their customers the option to play in sek, but we are allowed to stay and use other currencies.
For me it's fine, but I won't recommend other Swedes to do that. I want them to be safe :)
I won't go outside of EU though so it doesn't matter.

So this is suddenly not what we should go after, because that is the first thing we see.

Efter en dom har EG-domstolen förklarat att EG-rätten hindrar EU-länder att beskatta inkomster på vinster i andra EU-länder om samma vinst skulle ha varit skattefri i det egna landet. Därför ska vinster på pokerspel/kasino/vadhållning som anordnas inom EU/EES-området inte inkomstbeskattas i Sverige.

Men om spelarrangören finns utanför EU/EES ska vinsten beskattas. I din inkomstdeklaration tar du upp vinsten som inkomst av kapital. Det ska du göra även om du inte har fått någon kontrolluppgift.
