SPAM after closed account

I gave ONE casino my work email address, after they claimed to be emailing me tracking #s for a check that I never got. Giving them the benefit of the doubt that maybe gmail was blocking some of their emails (but curiously only ones with a tracking # in it) I gave them my work email address. Of course, that wasn't the case, they just didn't have tracking numbers because they hadn't sent a check yet.

Now, my work email is getting spam for several different casinos. I'm used to a ton of casino spam on my gmail account because I have used it at so many casinos. My work email has never been used for any casino save this one, and I did not sign up for it through affiliate link or anything like that. I emailed manager@thiscasino from my gmail account saying please use myname@mywork instead to eliminate any gmail issues.

In the past two months, I have had about fifty emails from other casinos to that work address.

Further, I closed my account at the offending casino the day after I finally got my cashout, since they had been so horrible about sending it. I continue to get emails from them begging me to come back, offers of bonus money, "anything we can do" etc. I reply to them to remove me from such lists, they email back saying they will comply, then a week later I get a string of come-back emails again.

How do I get an accredited casino to stop emailing me?

Sorry to hear that, you could try their Rep on here as they are accredited they might have a live rep. If that doesn't work out you could always try PAB through max

Good luck as spam emails can be a real pain especially when they are on your work email

Is it spam direct from the casino, or spam on behalf of the casino from affiliates - this issue often comes up because the casino doesn't want to break any non-contact demands, so they do it indirectly.

Contact the rep, they should be able to get things to stop.

Obviously your email address (which was not your signup email, but one provided specifically to deal with ONE issue) has been shared... possibly with "select partners".

It's not always true that you get "jumped on" saying something negative about an accredited casino. It's probably true when you start calling them crooks, thieves, etc., but lots of negative things are said frequently. If you don't share the casino name, how much help other members can give you is limited. And you do your fellow players a disservice by not letting them know what to expect IMO.

I would definitely inform Casinomeister or maxd by pm if you don't wish to share the name in the public forum. This not acceptable behaviour.

I'm not going to post the name because they're accredited, and no one can say anything negative publicly about an accredited group here without getting jumped on.

I just want to know how to get them to stop.

Don't think that way my friend. You've probably seen me and others defend Betfred on here in another thread, but they were in the right. Trust me, those same people, myself included, will come down like a ton of crap on ANY accredited casino, in public, as long as the negatives are backed up with evidence and the original poster tells the whole truth, and there is no PAB in progress.

Slotocash are accredited - look how much of a battering they have had recently as things seem to be going downhill regarding AWOL reps and delayed cashouts.

IF an accredited site is spamming AFTER you closed an account, then they shouldn't. I had this from a couple of VPL skins, enticements for me to reopen. They are good casinos and accredited. I simply replied (after checking the e-mail was directly from them) and asked why. It stopped.

I agree, name and shame.

My pet hate is spam and im in the same boat as you but I have lost track of who sends what... I know:

Betway
Winner Casino
Casino del rio
A load of the casino Rewards casinos

...are some that sell your details over to others. I know this because I made a brand new email address when I signed up with each of them and kept my findings in a notepad text file, cookies and browser was cleared so no affil tags were remaining, it was a direct link to the casino. 2 months later I checked each email address and found at least 5 spam messages from them and other casinos.

When it comes to spamming after account closure, thats happened to me also. I cant remember the specific names but a few times I have had to give a asswhooping to casinos that I have closed my account with and the spam continued. They said their system didnt automatically remove me off their mailing list and they will do it manually (even though I ticked or unticked the appropriate boxes when signing up so should of received any spam to begin with)

Well, I wasn't going to name but since they continue emailing me, about every two weeks, asking me to reopen my account, it's inetbet.

I get an email from promos@inetbet offering me some comeback bonus, then one from manager@inetbet asking why did I leave. Then I reply to both and tell them I closed my account and don't want to hear from them further, they say they will, and I always get one last set of emails from James / Facebook guy that's a "premium" manager/rep asking again why I closed and what can they do to get me back.

I've been through six cycles now of these emails from them. It just won't stop. I closed my account because of their consistent lies about checks being mailed when they haven't been (I know, you always get it eventually... but they'll tell you "it was mailed today" and then two weeks later they still don't have tracking, and three weeks later it arrives, having been overnighted and dated 20 days after they said "it was mailed").

I just want to not be contacted by them any more, and I can't get them to stop.

Can't prove the second point - but I guarantee it to be true - they are selling or giving away email addresses. I manage my company's email server. I never once used that work email account for any casino until inetbet said they were emailing me tracking & I wasn't getting it - so I gave them my work email. Almost immediately I started getting spams from various casinos on that address, and I never once had ever received a single gambling-related email from anyone before that on my work account.

I can't possibly be more clear with them that I have no intention of using their service ever again in the future. I am just really getting pissed about the repetetive emails pleading ignorance of even why I left and the begging is unbecoming of them.

You should PAB about the point you have concrete evidence for, the repeated emailing you to reopen your account, and to a WORK email too, one that was given for a SPECIFIC purpose as a one-off to troubleshoot an issue over non delivered emails. The particular issue here is that despite being asked to stop contacting you, they continue to do so.

This is particularly bad as they are emailing a US player on a work address, and repeatedly. This is like playing "Russian Roulette" with both your status at work, and their need to go as much "under the radar" as possible when it comes to the US.

It's an odd coincidence that you suddenly start receiving spam from other casinos on that address after having given it out, but have not had any before. This is one of the tips to work out who is selling your info, give a unique email address to each casino, and then check for the onset of spam on that address. It's very hard to prove though, it just gives strong circumstantial evidence of a connection.

It's unwise to do this to US players as if they can't get the casino to stop sending out emails despite numerous requests, they may escalate the problem to their ISP or the US authorities that deal with spamming and other data protection issues. US players know that there is a need to keep their own hobby "under the radar", so where a work address is involved, doing nothing and just accepting the spam may not be an option.

If challenged by work, just say it's all spam that started recently, and that you have little idea as to which company sold your data. As you are in charge of the mail server, you might want to check whether it's just the domain that has come under fire from spammers, or whether it is specifically just your email address, which would be another strong indication that your data was passed on, rather than you just being a victim of bot based spamming on the work domain.

I had exactly the same with them, managers bonus (I politely tell them i'm closed) then 'We haven't seen you in a while' (I politely tell them i'm closed), then 'It's your birthday' this time I tell them I am closed with quite a bit of swearing and cursing and what i think of them, not heard a peep since. So that seems to be the only thing they understand. If they can't stop being ignorant ***** then you need to be one as well.
