Just thinking today how many games there are that are so nearly playable, but spoiled by perhaps one thing. Or put another way, there's one thing that stops me going back to them.

Wondered if this might be an interesting thread, if nothing else to feed back to the software providers for future games.

    Specifically:

    1. Microgaming's Golden Goose. Totem Treasure is good but the "1x" multiplier and the "walking goose" spoils it for me. If i get a bonus round, i want it to be good entertainment! (And i still say something changed around 2 months after release to make it play different!)

    2. Crypto's "Free Spins" slots. The ones i've tried rely on you getting the bonus triggers on certain reels. Now that really spoils the fun...make 'em scatters anywhere on any reel and I'd be playing them.

    3. Cashville/Witches Wealth/Dino Might etc. Nice ideas, but I can't be doing with the coin display. The only "coins" ones i've seen that would get me back long-term would be "Kathmandu" and maybe the new "Isis" (20 free spins at 6x - very neat). But only as back-up to T'struck/Spring Break/Ladies Nite I fear, when they are boring me :)
    IE: if i "have to"!

    4. What On Earth. I do like this slot. But its an "occasional" for me for two reasons: one, because there is a limit to what you can get off the bonus round, and two, havng to line up the scatter symbols adjacent. Yet you still get the sounds when they dont! Grrr.

    What have i missed?

    Cheers,

    Simmo!

Isis is a very high risk of ruin slot.

Think about it - you rarely ever get any wins of any sort other than 9s and 10s - so if you should get lucky and win free spins, what on earth (no pun intended) makes you think you're going to get a winning combo then?

I have already struck Isis off my list - it has to be the stingiest slot machine I have ever played, online or off. 6x nothing is still nothing...

Moonstruck kinda sucks sometimes as well - I've had free spins where I won *less* than the original bet! But at least Granny and Mr Copper show up on a reasonably frequent basis - at least so far...

At least the Goose generally gives you at least your bet back... LOL... even Wheel of Wealth does that. But these two new slots really take the cake... no doubt Moonstruck will be on my no play list soon as well. Kathmandu isn't all that great either.

WOE is fine with me - I'll take a shot at 200x or 400x any time.

Coin display - I'm still not that bothered by this change, to be honest, but I would still like to see at least an option to display real funds instead of credits...

Thanks Spear...from that i take it you prefer slots that make your bankroll last longer :)

I tend to go for the slots that play crap for ages but have the potential to hit big. Skint for 3 months then rolling in it for 2 lol.

Anyway - I digress. Thats not the debate for this thread really. I'm looking for the bits of games that could be improved....

It's not really a matter of making your bankroll last longer - if you haven't noticed Harvey's and Loaded can burn a hole in your pocket pretty quickly as well. On the other hand, they have good return potential if you hit the bonus round.

Ultimately, it's a matter of entertainment value for me, as well as the potential to pocket a nice profit. Isis does not meet either of those conditions. And Moonstruck is more entertainment and less profit. Wheel of Wealth has an upper limit of 10K coins on the bonus, which doesn't excite me all that much, and profits can be okay here but no "WOW" type wins. And Kathmandu is like Isis, but a bit less stingy.

As far as I am concerned, all four of these slots meet the "one thing lacking" requirement. Isis could be said to have two but if they were to make ANY win (even 9s) a bit more likely, it could also resolve the other problem with profit potential.

there are so many that fit your 'one thing wrong'.
Isis for one is a joke. Very pretty and the sound is cool but in 10 to 20 spins you only see 15 to 20 coins back- rubbish! I have never hit the bonus round but have spent plenty of time trying. Boring, boring, boring! I think I'll throw Katmandu into this catagory as well, what's up with all the 2-10's??
Moonstruck I really like this one. The one thing wrong is that you have to pick your multipliers and spins. That is what I didn't like about Pollen Nation. I am a bad picker. Just give me something assigned, like Harveys.
I'm with you Simmo! on the goose slots, the bonus rounds are too slow, it breaks the action. Same for Witches Wealth; I liked it a lot when it first came out but all that waiting for the story, breaks the mood.
I'm at work so I can't think of more but I know that there are plenty. I used to play VP and would love to go back to that if MG would go back to making it more like the B&M casinos. You know, where you can actually win something. I am almost burned out on casinos altogether. Yikes did I just admit that????

    Forget MG for a moment...

A lot of people here rave about Ronin (RTG) so I tried it last night - 350 spins of shyte!
I can only assume the bonus feature pays out very well because the 'standard' wins are tiny, few and very far between. I still have not seen the bonus round yet - just waiting for Mars, Saturn & Jupiter to form a perfect line, which it the only time it hits I believe... :eek2:

The main big spoiler for me is on Crypto slots when using autoplay - why o why does it have to show you all the tiny wins you just got on 4 -5 lines, one at a time, very very slowly, before spinning again?? Jeeeze - you can grow a beard while you wait!

I only play MG 99% of the time so...

GOLDEN GOOSE - Yuk, yuk and even more yuk. It seems that you nearly always hit the walking goose. At the end of the day, i think most players would admit that they just want to hit the 'money or spins' option and then i would imagine that most players would then pick the free spins option anyway. Theres no better feature than a free spins feature.

ISIS - I love the free spins feature. 20 free spins x 6!! Wow - its about time MG had a slot with a guaranteed free spin return like this. I think I will end up playing this a lot. Spinning 5, with a hopeful chance of hitting 20 spins at 30.00 a spin really appeals to me. Yes, the wins are regularly low, but you hit one nice win in the free spins, and you could be laughing.

MOONSHINE - Rubbish. Yes, you can make your bankroll last quite long with this slot, but its a slow death and to have to pick your own fate with the free spins feature!!! Along with Gift Wrap and Pollen Nation, i dont think I will play it that often.

LOADED - For me, the mother of the coin based slots. I love it. Im down on this slot loads, but I will continue to play. I love the option of 12, 16 or 24 spins. My theory is, if you havent got much of a bankroll and are playing low stakes hit the x 12. If you are playing big stakes, hit the x 24. Anything else, just hit x 16. (But why does it feel that when you hit the x 24 option, that you nearly always seem to hit some nice wins in the first 12 spins, then hit nothing??? hehehehe). Great slot, lovely sound effects and really smooth. Probably one of the best slots MG have to offer apart from....

SPRING BREAK - A true colour filled, sound packed slot. Rewards can be high even off a low stake. Can keep you entertained for hours (if your wallet can stand it). Massive scatter win, along with big winning combinations too. Very hard to match this monster slot.

I am so glad someone else noticed this awful play. It actually got me so irritated that I quit playing it all together. Who in the world wants to hit 10-10 every other spin and collect 1/2 your bet back...yup , guess we are dummies in the casinos perspective..lol:lolup:

I used to love Ronin and Cesaers. These were my most favorite games at an RTG casino. Until the upgrades and new games, these were wonderful to play and win a little and once in a while get a great hit.

Now, it is all garbage since the upgrades and new games, which has been par for the course ever since.:(

I hadn't thought of it like that :D But i totally agree. I've already had several $500+ returns off $5 stakes on the spins. But you have to be patient for sure and it can definately eat you out of house and home on a bad day!

Ah i'd forgotten that!! Good point - i knew there was a reason i got bored easily. Plus, the autoplay desperately needs a "stop on wins of more than $xxx" option so it doesnt matter if you wander off, and more importantly "stop when feature hit and play manually"!

ISIS, I like this slot and have had a good run on it, hit retriggers numerous times, I think it has potential to be big.

LOADED, I am a Loaded junky, enough said.

WHEEL OF WEALTH SPECIAL, YUK what a waste of time and money, to me no return on your bankroll, I class this with Moonshine as well, you can play for a long time but can't get anywhere with except broke.

MERMAID MILLIONS, SECRET ADMIRER, GOOD TO GO, Lucky if you see a bonus spin.

T/STRUCK, LADIES, SPRING, TALLY HO, Still my favorites, you still have a chance to win big on any of these.

It seems to me that all these new games are just repeats and revamps of what are already available.

Well this is probally alot of peoples favorite but id rather have harveys be a 3 scatters to get the free spins, rather then the champaign in reels 2 & 4.

Also i hate to say it but i absolutly love jungle jim (favorite), they should take out the gators and make it a free spin scatter game, it will come up alot may get 10*5 may get 2*1.

Also, the worst M.G. game in my opinion is Reel strike, scatters never come up, niether do half the good symbols, and the free spins blow. That game is a pitch.

Now a game Id like to see, I hate 25 liners, 15 is good enough.
So id say a 15 liner, with 3 scatters equals free spins 3*15 would be nice. Thats it, none of the treasure picking bull crap like Bush Telegraph, Mermaid Millions, or Tomb Raider crap.

Micro, if you come up with a game like that, it will be just like thunderstruck with just 15 lines instead of 9, Id play that game, and that game only.

Also NO MORE DAMN COIN BASE GAMES!!!

Ah yes - agreed. I rarely go to Tombraider as a) its only 10 spins and rarely yields anything adrenaline-pumping and b) those bloody tomb features just get in the way of a good game - lol. But it is an excellent GUI experience with great theme and sounds. If Tombraider (Or Mermaids for that matter) was a Thunderstruck clone, I'd be on it all the time.

Strangely for such a slot junkie perhaps, I've never once played Loaded, Bush Telegraph or Witches Wealth simply cos they are coin based and the thought of having to work out how much i won when i get 11,218 coins playing 25 lines at 7 coins a line on $0.02 stake just sends me into "can't be arsed" mode :D

Oh and i agree about Harveys scatters too but i guess at least it makes it different :)

LOL. I wont - it just doesnt appeal :p

I thought of another. "Double Bonus VP" on both MG and Crypto. Loved Crypto til they downgraded the paytable. In fact, it wasn't the new payout that stopped me playing so much as the way it was introduced. Like I'm stupid enough to think it was an upgrade. Yeah right! Do me a favour.

On the MG side, i was so looking forward to this coming in Power Poker mode (1 hand is simply boring), but it hasn't arrived. Lots of 50-play and 100-play on other variants, but not even 4-play on DB or DDB yet....booo :(

Conversely however, Deuces Wild "Power Poker" is the dogs :)

speaking of games to avoid, has anyone ever ever won anything at the Bodog casino site?? For that matter, on any of the RTGs??? I am getting real tired of having the sh!t kicked out of me everytime I play this site. Never get many bonuses, never pay much, and I spend all my time trying to get to even. It is so rare to be ahead of my deposit at this site, that I have forgotten what it feels like to be ahead! I feel like I'm being ripped off and want to know if anyone has any input that might help me decide whether to ever play there again. Please give me feedback, good, bad or otherwise. I feel like a sucker playing at this site. Surely someone has won something here at one time or another, maybe not. (at this point I wouldn't be surprised if noone has ever won anything at Bodog)

LOL , nope, nuttin at Bodog (been months since I played here), and getting even drier at the rest...just uninstalled all of them, VIP Casino , King Solomons Casino, iNetBet ...

Figured I'd give them all a rest till they come to thier senses and bring back the fun in thier games....and what decided me to do this tonight was that they have become totally boring and when I hit a whopping $8.40 bonus round tonight on 15 free spins betting $2 bucks a whack to hit the bonus round...figured it was time to dump them all...that averages out to a mind boggling .56 cents a free spin....... on only a $250.00 investment (being facetious here)..lmao..whooopeee:lolup:

Tired of feeding them all my winnings from other casinos and supporting a few losing propositions (casinos)..let them fend for the loyalty of the players by fixing back the games they screwed up so badly...:xxx

I really liked thier games a lot...dagnabbit....but until then.....they won't see me back for a long while...

WIth every new release, I give the new slots a try but always go right back to Spring Break and Tally Ho (and if they aren't hitting I'll try Thunderstruck or Ladies Night). I would love to see a new skin of Tally Ho, as well as a few more of the Spring Break/Thunderstruck type. I don't know if it's just me, but I can usually tell how the session will turn out fairly quickly (by the 50th spin). If I'm getting fairly regular hits, I keep playing and do well in bonus rounds. If I'm getting poor returns (less than the wager) I jump around on the wager amount and if nothing is hitting, I leave. These are the only games where the wins don't dry up after the first nice hit and where I can play for hours and still leave with a nice profit. Seems that the 15 or 25 liners give one decent bonus round (if you're lucky) and then dry up quickly for me.

I don't like spinning for hundreds of spins without the rush of a bonus round. I also am not a fan of the 'pick your bonus round' type games, whether it's to determine spins and multipliers or to determine total bonus points (Chain Mail, Pollen Nation etc.).

I have to agree with the popular opinion!

Despite the odd foray into the new slots, the coin based ones, the new feature ones etc... I always find myself ending up back at Ladies Nite, Thunderstruck and Spring Break!

Isis I feel could've been fantastic, but the feature hits are too few and far between to keep me interested. I understand they've gone for the big 6x and less frequency, but there's just too many droughts before you find an oasis!! Plus, it does my pet hate speedy up reel thing.. Grrrrr! It's definitely the best of the last few months though.

Tell you what I want to see - a Ladies Nite/Spring Break etc clone, that has the potential to increase the multiplier during the free spins. I.e - Hit the scatters again and you go to 4x, then 5x, then 6x etc... I'm sure someone at MG could do the math to see how this might work...

Now that is one cool frigging idea :D But you'd have to bear in mind that the increase in potential bonus winnings would impact on regular spin payouts. So you'd end up with Isis-syndrome. I'm sure you could lose the 2 x 9's payout and that would maybe come close to evening it up mind. Personally thats fine, i live for the bonus rounds anyway :)

This sounds like a great slot! I would also hope that if this was made, that the default freespin would be 3x, and not flattened out on x2 or x1 since your are able to make it bigger. Kathmandu really annoyed me with going lower, since it's able to go higher... What a load of crap! You usually get x2 all the time, or a x5 if you hit some 9's. So in reality this x5 is a penalty and not a goodie.

What I would love to see, is slots where we need to line in Que.. Where we are able to see what the person infront of us are wagering, maby even the person playing can see what player are watching him aswell, and we have to wait to play until the player already playing gives up! If he looses, Oh man!, if he wins, you probably skip the que. After all, this is what we are doing in the landbased casinoes anyways. We could even hava avatars, :D This would also mean that on a machine only 1 person are able to play at a time, there should only be one player all the time - so there would need to be many slots, maby 10 ladies and 10 thunderstrucks (Which would mean if you win on one, you still are able to win on the next one). A dangerous scenario, but again - giving we thrust MG on fair game, I think this sounds like a great idea!
