Whilst I absolutely love playing slots, it really must be the most inane thing to do with your spare time.

To a non-gambler they just can't believe suckers like you and me pump these things with cash.

It's crazy, it really is.

I'm sure when God created Adam and Eve he wasn't thinking of slots and pokies as well.

Lay off the slots if you can. The casinos are the only winners - you realise this don't you? Of course you do, so why give these people money. It's madness. It's sad. And it's pathetic.

Just my two pence worth.

you cant spend it in heaven :p but of course do it senseably last time i played golf i left money there last time i playe slots i brought some extra home :D:D:p:confused:

monkey i see your point, and your right but:

smoking is bad, so are cars, cellphones, too much coffee, watching televison 8h a day, doing hard labour w/o protective gear, sitting at a desk/pc for more then an hour, not everybody knows it, but 80 procent should/could know it, everybody their own, every thing listed has its pros and cons, its just a personal choice...

i could elaborate, but im too lazy.

Why play slots??? To meet the WR, silly!!!
Absolutely!
Much more fun than trying to grind out WRs with boring card games which only count at a pathetic percentage towards wagering - and you never know when you're going to hit a biggie!
5 years of near daily play & I still love 'em! ;)

Slots are for losers

You are absolutely right! Spot on!

Instead of depositing 100$ I can just give the casino 5$ and get rid of the boring playtime.

It will save me time I instead could use with my children or do some nice gardening. Maybe I will get some time to visit my old parents or see a friend.

Nah!

I'll stick to the slots... :D

I tend to agree. Slots are the ultimate suckers bet. While I didnt need to hit rock bottom to realize it, it sure cost me a lot.

Slots are designed to be as addictive as possible. When you are sucked in its not that easy to get out. I mean look at this forum, basically flooded with slots addicts. Whatever they admit it or not.

But at least those are a lot cheaper :)

lol i doubt it simmo:

smokers spend average 7 bucks a day everyday for tobacco and fire.
they will not win a random jackpot for sure, so no chance of getting any money back :)

where as some small slotplayers, only deposit 25 to 50 a month, so thats one thats cheaper, and could potentially even bring in money.

cars are the most expensive thing in a household imo, i think when you calculate what you spend per year on AVERAGE, then compare this to what you spend in a casino slot on average, you might be surprised, and not even counting the cost of the initial buying of the car itself, the jackpot rule applies here too, so thats two ^^

cellphones could well be cheaper, depending on your abo, and habits.
but they are radioactive and irritating:D

tv is cheaper, but omg, i get smarter playing slots then watching tv 8h a day
:eek2:
(ok maybe if you watch 8h of animal planet, theres some knowledge to be gained)

coffee was a bad example really, i just drink waaay too much of it, and i know its not good for me, but i do it anyway, because i love it!
and that is the same with slots

I agree with you, incrediblestuff, but...
I don't smoke, watch TV or have a car... yes... but playing casinos I lost $800 one day. It's pretty hard lose $800 one day with smoke, alcohol and a lot of hobbies.
This amount is a lot of money for me. I didn't be very angry because it wasn't MY money, I started with very few money and was lucky some days and finally get $800, I could make a cash-out from my Neteller account and buy something nice, maybe an iPad, a travel... but... you know, it disappeared very fast.

I don't bet in such a way so I could ever lose $800 in one day. Think about it. If I deposit even $300, I would have 1500 spins, even if all of them were blanks, betting 20c each. So, because some people bet $100 per spin, does that make the rich stupider and bigger losers? LOL

Some people need to dip their feet into the water with baby bets until they feel how the software is behaving. In the early days of my gambling, I would deposit a couple hundred dollars, then bet $5 per spin and very shortly be angry that I could lose so much money so fast. Little by little I proved to myself that I could still have fun, get a lot of action, and yes, even win some money on the smaller bets. People tend to panic when losing and forget that they would not lose nearly as much, as well as they might be able to last longer and improved their chances of getting back up.......if they would just lower their bets! If you have been playing a machine that refuses to hit feature rounds or pay anything, move on to a different machine!

You will never get the full benefit of the RTP if you can't get enough spins in for the true percentages to play out over a reasonable duration of play. Try this: Take your total bankroll you have in the casino and divide that by 1000. If your current bet does not allow you 1000 spins on the machines, you are betting too much.

So, here is a quick reference of the kind of bankroll you need to have to guarantee a minimum of 1000 spins, even if they were all blanks. Now of course they are not going to all be blanks. Ideally, there should be some nice feature hits over that many spins.

$200 = 1000 spins @ 20c
$400 = 1000 spins @ 40c
$600 = 1000 spins @ 60c
$800 = 1000 spins @ 80c
$1000 = 1000 spins @ $1
$5000 = 1000 spins @ $5

$200 = 40 spins @ $5!

At $20 per spin, you will only have 250 spins and most of us know you can go that many without a bonus round being hit. ;)

That is what I do, where I can normally last a few days on a deposit, stand a very good chance of meeting playthough, if I have received a bonus, and stand a very good chance of coming out the other end with some winnings. I keep my bets inline with how much my bankroll dictates. Trust me, it will allow you to have some fun and keep you from being unnecessarily ruined too fast, if you follow some kind of a money management plan. Does that mean you will win? No! You're still playing a game of chance where the house has the edge. Is it possible to win? Absolutely! Can your playing time and pleasure be extended? Yes! Do you think that can increase your chances of winning? Yes!

While we may lose, we don't have to always be the biggest loser. The worst thing you can do is lose your head and increase your bet size while losing. If you hit a losing streak, lower your bet and try and be around when things improve. When you have spent what you meant to spend...mean it! That means when you have lost that deposit, you do not break your own rule and deposit more money! That is the difference between a player who is in control and an out of control gambling addict. Remember, if you are having a bad day, there is always something else to do. The casino will always be there for you to play, so why not read a book, go to a movie, take a walk, go feed the bird or the squirrels......anything but gamble? :)

the only real losers at slots are the people who lose control of themselves.

Theres nothing wrong with them, me and my gf play them for fun. I expect to lose what I deposit, which is a small manageable amount of our free cash. Whats the problem with that OP?

Woman becomes a compulsive coffee drinker, her mom told her it would put hair on her chest, one day she notices her chest growing peach fuzz. Sues coffee company for now selling Genetically Modified coffee, that has caused hair to grow on her chest, gets $100,000,000!!!! Cha Ching!!!! Jackpot!!!!

For what McDonalds did, she should own several.

Maybe some people would think that third degree burns, skin grafting, and 2 years of medical treatments are nothing. McDonalds offered her $800. Sounds reasonable, right?

Not many really know the facts of this case.

Oh, well, I tried to talk about a gambling problem. I agree is pretty hard lose too much money in slots, but it is possibly, no way with smoke, alcohol and a lot of hobbies.
My losses [and winnings] wasn't for play slots, I like table games more than slots, and that day, I think i didn't play any slots.

EDIT: By the way, for play slots (the main issue in this post) I think your reply is very interesting.

hey good post were here for each other to vent and learn control

I think the OP is lost to the point that all forms of gambling are supposed to be for entertainment. It's one of the very few forms of entertainment that actually pays for itself from time to time. The only time it's a problem is when people treat it as a means to make money. It's very difficult to actually make money gambling. If it was easy none of us would work and the casinos would eventually go broke.

Now if I make a modest deposit at any given online casino and play for an hour or so, I'm enjoying myself in the comfort of my own home. Yes, I'm paying for it. Yes, I'm probably not going to profit from it. No, I don't consider myself a loser for doing it. Not anymore than I consider myself a loser for renting a movie. The only difference is I've never heard little bells chime and tell me I just won 4000 dollars in the middle of the movie. Would be nice if I did. I'd probably rent a lot more movies.

It would cost me more to go watch a hockey game. (Specially with the 8 dollar pizza slices and the 11 dollar beers.) And I guarantee you at no time will the ref blow the whistle, jump over the boards, climb up the stands and hand me back 10x the cost of my ticket. The money I spend is gone with no chance of a return.

I could go out to a bar instead. That would also cost much more than a night of gambling at an online casino. And although I might get offered something from the cougar at the end of the bar wearing 6 dollars worth of jewelry and 60 dollars worth of make up, it won't be a huge cash win fall.

I guess the point is that we work for our money and what's left over our responsibilities is ours to do with as we please. And if we're spending it on something we enjoy it doesn't really matter if we get our money back when we're done.

Slots are good Therapy
