I went to open Slotocash's Rival casino today and it started to self-update. I thought it was weird that it said it needed to update 300-something files, but ignored it.

When it opened back up it didn't load as SlotoCash but as Slots Capital - with my Sloto login & password prefilled in the login page. So, now I just opened it, and my comp points, account history, everything is the same as what it was at Sloto - did they change names??

ETA: OK then, according to live chat, Sloto Rival is now Slots Capital. That's some weirdness right there. I thought my computer'd been hit by malware.

yup :) me also just went through the updat and as you say it is

can we get a official comment on what this means was it sold or as they say relaunch or wats up:eek2:

Hi All

Yes, Sloto’Cash Rival version has a new face "SlotsCapital"

Everything is under the same management, Stephen Vaughn will remain as the VIP and Casino Manager, our support is exactly the same and all the benefits and features you have enjoyed so far at Sloto’Cash Rival version have become as of today SlotsCapital.

Unfortunately the lobby updated slightly sooner than our domain name did so we will be making an official announcement to our members and partners tomorrow.

Thank you for your understanding.

All the best

Ms Sloto

Thanks a lot Ms Sloto. Can you tell us what the reason of the name change is? :)

Good, that all stays the same. You are trusted by many Rival Players.... I would never play another Rival casino right now!

Andre

The name change is mainly so our members can easily distinguish between RTG and Rival software as we operate on both. Plus since Sloto'Cash has been the same since 2007 we felt it needed a face lift, I hope you like it.

Ms Sloto

It's cool :) So it's easier for me too, because i used to play both Slotocash Casinos... :)

As long as everything stays the same, awesome!!!

So.does this mean that you are "Ms Slotocapital" now?

lol good question! We operate Desert Nights too, it could become rather long Ms SlotoCapitalDesert, think I will stick with Ms Sloto what do you think?

This is something you should avoid as it leads to unwarranted speculation. It makes sense to use another name for the Rival version as Slotocash uses the RTG platform primarily and if you continue to have the same brand name for both the Rival and RTG versions confusion may arise annd deter new players from joining. Nevertheless, the planning is poor and must not happen again.

The other problem with this thinking that since the casino has had the same name since 2007 it is due for a change is how can players be expected to avoid falling into the duplicate account trap?

What will happen now is that marketing for this "new" Rival casino will start entering players' mail boxes, or they will see it on affiliate sites. Players who already have a SlotoCash Rival account, especially those who don't have it installed and in regular use, will not see the connection and will register a new Slots Capital account rather than use their existing login details.

Surely the change could have been communicated to players well in advance such that the accidental earlier than expected update of the lobby did not come as a surprise. A PR recovery exercise to stem speculation should never have been necessary, no matter how swiftly and well done it was.

In the past, Rival casino unnannounced name changes have been the precursor to bad news for the players.

Bearing in mind Sloto`Cash was one of the so very few Rivals with a good name, so this would be deemed as a very poor marketing move, and being the astute businesswoman that Ms Sloto is, i`m going to make a bet that she has something else up her sleeve (I don`t mean something bad, far from it), time will tell ;).

in the name change, does sloto fall with in the terms and conditions set forth by the casino by law's ?/

if so whats the difference here or when a player doesn't read the t&C'S ON A BONUS THEN PUTS IN A SQWAK

Thank you all for you feedback

The update on the lobby was done and as email is no longer a guaranteed way of reaching members due to spam etc an internal message was set up to activate immediately on login informing members of the change, this malfunctioned and was immediately resolved.

Our Rival brands orginally were aimed at US members, but as we no longer accept new US players our marketing is now aimed at none US members and therefore duplicate accounts will not be an issue. Also if a member already has an account the software automatically completes the players username on login, where members will see the message regarding the name change.

We continued with the Rival software due to feedback from our US members who are still able to play on their existing accounts. The only issue we encountered was the DNS not updating in time so the website was still showing as slotocash but its quite hard to get the timing right.

From your comments I see the main point you are making is that existing members were not informed before the change, but that is not a case of sloppy planning as jetset puts it, the launch was planned as explained above and as I see it the only loss from this decision would be ours as for our members everything stays the same apart from the name change.

rockycatt, what do you mean by t&C'S ON A BONUS THEN PUTS IN A SQWAK?

Best Regards

what i meant was that if a player puts up a thread/post that he didn't get paid straight away ,then a lot of members will say did you read the terms of the bonus [it's the accepted rule to follow] so don't squawk

so i'm saying that if you[ sloto] followed your right to design your web site content witch i see OK [no squawk]

PS [SQUAK ]= IN THE USA like a crow sqawking for food or what ever

This could have been planned by informing players WELL in advance by every means. An email should have been sent, a message should have been shown in the original SlotoCash lobby at login well in advance of the change, and the change should have been posted as a "press release" on the most popular forums that have an ongoing relationship with Sloto brands.

This would have ensured MOST players, and particularly regular ones, being well aware that this change was coming, so when the slight technical malfunction ocurred, there would have been plenty of players able to quickly squash any rumours that this was a bad sign.

The rumours here were killed within hours, but is this true elsewhere?

Whilst no US players could accidentally create a duplicate account, those playing from elsewhere could if there was any malfunction in the system that detected an existing SlotoCash player at the point of registration for Slots Capital.

Perhaps we need a volunteer non US player with an existing SlotoCash account to check that the systems correctly prevent them from opening a duplicate Slots Capital account.

If any such checks are based on information stored on the players' own PC, this is nowhere near "foolproof" as a method to prevent duplicate accounts, and can be done by accident, as well as by deliberate attempts to trick the software.

rockycatt thanks for the explanation, not heard that term before :)

@ ms sloto: I think it's probably from the reference of the radio and or tv being referred to as a squawk-box ie something that chatters at you

Ex:
Son: Where's mom?
Dad: Sitting in front of the squawk box, watching her stories

Person A: $%^&*@#%
Person B: What you squawking 'bout now?

Can someone please provide a link to access the sloto rival software, i don't want to play the RTG version but everytime i have tried to download it i get the RTG version, grrrrr ready to pull my hair out !
