What is UP with PlayAlberta?

So on all the online casinos I've tried, I've won a bit... Lost a lot... Got a few nice surprises. Etc. I've found some games I like.

Except this Playalberta.ca site. I swear these slots have the lowest hit rate possible, and the "bonuses" they offer are laughable. I haven't won a damn thing, and I know sometimes you have hot streaks and cold streaks, but there is something odd with these games. Maybe it's just me? But it doesn't seem to share any games with any other sites, which seems odd too.

I was wondering what other people thought of this site and if it's as greasy as it feels? I liked it at first because it doesn't make me wait 48 hours to get my winnings, but idk it is weird.

It is a casino run by the state. Can't really get more legitimate than that. Everything will be above board.

The list of providers is indeed small and mostly filled with providers associated with land based play (IGT, Aristocrat/Ainsworth, Konami, AGS). Wizard Games (renamed Pariplay) is a subsidiary of Aristocrat but is a provider you find on plenty of casinos. Red Tiger needs no introduction. This is likely due to existing partnerships the state of Alberta has with these companies in their land based ventures. Rest assured the games will be legitimate.

Most of these providers will have variable RTPs available and I can't check what versions are being utilised by this casino so it is possible you could be getting shafted on that front but if the RTPs are on max then there are plenty of 96%+ options.

Also what was laughable about their bonuses? I have no idea what they offer for reload bonuses but their bonus terms look excellent (x20b) and their welcome bonus (x10b $500) is even better than the standard terms. I also couldn't find a maximum bet but it could be restricted in software. The expected value of the welcome bonus using $10 bets on a 96% rtp game is around $340 when maxed out. The terms/value on offer are well above average.

Edit: upon further reading it appears that the Alberta government outsourced the running of the site to NeoPollard, which is partially owned by NeoGames who were acquired by Aristocrat last year. This may explain the current choice of providers as its mostly providers owned by aristocrat or with various levels of partnership with Aristocrat.

I’ve been giving PlayAlberta.ca a go for the past couple of weeks, and it’s been... interesting, to say the least. I usually play on a few other sites where I get a decent mix of wins and losses, but this one feels off. The slot selection seems limited, and honestly, I’m seeing way fewer hits compared to what I’m used to. I know they’re a legit, state-run operation, which is cool, but something about the site doesn’t feel as rewarding. They do have some decent bonus terms, I’ll give them that, but I’m still on the fence about sticking around

Seeing as I can't personally sign up, could you do a favour and check the RTP of one or two of the games you played? I'm interested in whether or not they heavily turn down the RTPs. AGLC runs alot of physical machines with the usual sub 90% RTP so I wouldn't be surprised if they lowered as much as they could online as well!
