Something gambling related to kick around for the next few days.

Should Sweepstakes sites be rated by the same criteria as Casinos?

  • Hell yes! Why should they be any different? The same criteria should apply.

So a thing came up this week that had us scratching our heads.
A Sweepstakes site is facing a significant Ratings downgrade because it has several outstanding and unresolved PABs against it.
The Sweeps guys think they should be treated differently than casinos, that complaints against them are not as significant as complaints against casinos.
In other words they want to be exempt from the criteria that we apply to casinos.
Needless to say we have our opinion but we're curious what y'all think, hence the Poll.

If you've got thoughts on this please let us know. This helps us shape our policies on these things.

Yes, they should be treated very differently to online casinos.

Collected together and flushed down the Casinomeister bog.

100% they should be held to the same standard as everyone else - especially due to the amount of them that get added onto here

If any of them start with a "technically we are not a casino, so technically shouldn't be held to.the same standard" then it raises a red flag

I know they are not big in the UK so i don't really have any interest (from my side) but CM is a global resource for casino reviews/community - it wouldn't seam right to weaken the vetting/reviews for sweepstakes - to me that goes against what the site is about

Personally I'd be happier the faster that the states where casinos are not legal smack down the ever so silly "Ha Ha our customers are not betting with MONEY they're betting with STARS and you can't buy STARS, you can only buy COINS, (but we'll give you a few STARS when you buy COINS) and obviously the COINS that you buy are purely for fun and can never be redeemed for anything...."
