I got an email earlier today about a new I-Slot... Now, I have hated those I-Slots since the first time I played and basically got nothing out of them no matter how far I got in the series :(

Hole I Won, though, is not an I-Slot in the sense of the others... This one is interactive because the bonus round has a bit of skill involved. And the better you are, the higher your win will be. So, let's take a look at this new I-Slot.

Hole In Won - A Very well themed (much like most Rival Slots) slot, this one has a golfing theme with all reels showing very nice graphics. Hole in Won comes with a nice Expanding Wild symbol which helps to increase your wins. Besides that, it's main feature is the skill-based bonus round.

Wild Symbol - The Wild Symbol is a bit strange... A large rooster which expands vertically while the animation puts a golf ball across the reels. Nice touch.

Bonus Round - The bonus round has 9 holes and you will play 1 hole each time you get the bonus round to appear (appears when you get 3 scattered birdies across the reels). During the bonus round, you point the golfer in the direction of the hole (with obstacles in the way) and try to get the ball in the hole with the least amount of strokes. You determine the speed and direction of the hit, which is where the skill part comes in. On each subsequent bonus round, you play another one of the 9 holes.

Summary - There really is nothing like this game out there and for me that makes it enjoyable. The bonus rounds come VERY infrequently, though, in my estimation and the game (while I have not analyzed it fully) appears to be medium-high variance.

Was fun to play, but lost my money a bit too fast for me :) Check it out and let me know what you think. Feel free to vote on it if you like it at the above URL.

PS - I forgot to get the golfing part of the bonus round screenshots, so I'll try to get that in there asap.

I updated the screenshots and man am I a bad pretend golfer :) Anyway - you should see at least the 2nd of the 9 holes. I had the maximum amount of strokes, so my win was pretty small :)

i like the slot, but I don't think any skill is actually involved. a couple of my puts were going right in the hole and were rejected by some "unknown" force. then my 4th shot missed the hole and then ricocheted about 5 times and somehow went in.

i think it's ok to call this an I-slot since your bonus golf hole is different as you play 9 holes.

Is it the most interactive slot you've seen anywhere, T_B?
I haven't played Rival for awhile.. sloto here i come.

LOL - this sounds rather like my usual game of real golf, except that 4th shot doesn't go in!

You think you got troubles - I'm a bad real golfer! :p
Thanks for the great review!
Been having a mega run at Sloto this week so might just risk some of my winnings on it now....

That's a little worrying - I would have hoped it was true skill like the other skill slots on the net. :(
People who write in Lemon Chiffon are definitely gay!

I just logged in in fun mode to take a look at this new one, and get some data on their other slots for a review.

Looks like they've changed the pay-tables on some again.
I don't think I'll be playing this one any more in a hurry...
:eek2:

Back to the subject slot;
Definitely high variance - hardly any wins outside the feature.
Though, like HitMan; get 3 wilds with the right symbols either end & you'd be rolling in it!

Fun play, my first feature, hole 1, down in two shots = 80xbet!
I might get to like this one!

The Reel of Fortune looks a bit like a screwup, huh? :) Otherwise, those are some bad odds!

I've played Hole in Won a few more tims and I think I agree that the game may not require as much skill as it's supposed to :( And, yes, I guess that is an Eagle.... Doesn't look much like one, but that's what it must be.

AND - I am a bad REAL golfer too :) If the game were called Slice-o-rama instead of golf, I might be a master.

Wild Symbol - The Wild Symbol is a bit strange... A large rooster which expands vertically while the animation puts a golf ball across the reels. Nice touch.
I don't like this part of the i-slot with the Eagle comes out.I think it's a waste of time. But you can skip it if you like.
Like Slotocash they will get better each week.

More glitches...
Such a shame when a good software house releases a great new game on the public without thorough testing first :(

Glitch 1:
Still in fun mode I left it running while I went to Tesco for some shopping. When I got back the feature had hit, but my session had also timed out so I had to exit & log back in - no problem there.
Played the feature game, then carried on spinning....
This is when the peculiar stuff started; roughly every other spin I was getting win-lines & win flashing borders appearing before the reels had even stopped spinning and NOT on winning combinations! It was not always the same line, sometimes up to 5 or 6 win-lines appeared. This is only a display issue, the wins I got did seem to be registering properly.
Managed to catch this shot mid-spin:-

Old Attachment (Invalid)

Glitch 2:
Still in autoplay I hit a nice $100 win thanks to an Expanding Eagle!
A pop-up said 'well done, do you want to play for real?', so I said "No".
Normally after this the slot carries on with the autoplay, but this time it just 'froze up'
No buttons worked & so I had to exit the game.
Again, this is a minor issue as I think it would only occur in fun-mode.
(Note the non-winning line 7 win-line, as mentioned above)

Old Attachment (Invalid)

Back to the game itself!
After playing hole 1 it took another 148 spins to hit the feature again.
This time I took 3 shots & won $35.70.
I hit the next 4 holes all within 100 spins:-
16 spins; 2 putts - $120.00
15 spins; 2 putts -- $45.00
14 spins; 2 putts -- $45.00
54 spins; 2 putts -- $45.00

This leads me to believe that the number of shots you take is not directly proportional to the win you will get, but is a random figure within a certain range.
Also, on hole 6 I played a shot (bounced of a wall) which looked dead certain to be a hole-in-one, but then it stopped very suddenly about an inch from the hole :(

So a bit disappointing that it's not true skill like Daily Horoscope or Alien Hunter, but it is still a nice enjoyable and fun slot which is capable of BIG payouts!

PS: One more thing; the paytable doesn't actually tell you how many scatters you need to trigger the feature.
(It's 3 or more).
PS2; It also doesn't tell you which reels the expanding wilds are on.
(They're on reels 2, 3 & 4 only)

I did pretty well in the golfing, having played some computer mini golf before. Went par on the first hole, one below par on the second, par on the 3rd hole on my first tries. But the simulated physics seem a bit weird, I don't think it's rigged, it's just not that good a mini golf game.

Well I hope Rival will get their act together soon, I can see these slots being a lot of fun but who wants to play in real mode with all those glitches!! Once again the slot should have been tested more before it was released.

The new game is something different, and looks like it might provide some fun.

I just noticed that they have changed the paytable for Hobo's Hoard - I must admit I dont like going to play a game and not get paid for combinations you normally would. The change is that the symbols that used to payout for 2 of a kind now only pay for 3 of a kind. Im not exactly sure if the 5OAK payouts have increased as a result, but if they havent then its some extra % edge for the casino.

Rival games and casinos really are different and I have always enjoyed playing there (not to mention fast payouts). I have to agree with bonustreak though.......I really wish they would be completely tested and bug-free before release. It just gives an impression (justified or not) of being second-rate or unprofessional, which is a big turnoff for many people. You could imagine the uproar if Microgaming changed a paytable or bonus round or were constantly fixing bugs - Bryan would have to buy more bandwidth!

So I played a bit more in fun mode, and managed to hit the ball so that it went outside the course! The next shot went completely off the screen.

Ha! That's not so good. I think more testing might be called for on this one.

I do like the slot, though... It's unique (for once) and has excellent theming. I sure wish they would have come out with something a bit more 'realistic', though :)

Thank you for posting this for I thought I had gone nuts watching all the glitches and it was happening only to me...and they were in ALL the games I played thereafter until I got out and re-entered..this just confirms..my eyes are still good :D Thanks!

Holy shoot! You must have picked up a 9-iron instead of your putter! :D

Seriously - that is a MAJOR glitch!

Hi everyone,

We've removed the 9-iron (actually, it was a hole in the "wall" :) ) and corrected the win line issue. Thanks for your patience and good luck!

We had games like this in the Oregon lotto awhile back (we still might.. i dunno) you played golf, or some other game, a cross word was one i think.. at home on your pc..

It either was a winner or it wasn't when you bought it, but you still had to take it home and play it to find out.. they were VERY popular, my sister and I actually binged for quite a little while.. buying them as .. 'presents' for each other .. so we could play them together ;) lol

Cathy ;)
