Professors personal email addresses hijacked by CAP

Probably stating the obvious here, but if these were your personal email accounts, then why can't you get control of them back? Ya know, like having the password(s) reset, etc?

I think it's just another case of The Professor screwing up his terminology.

He called himself the "majority shareholder" for CAP, when he controls 40%. While he may be the single largest shareholder, he doesn't control a "majority"

Likewise, these "personal" accounts he's had for 8 years are likely tied to the business itself (i.e. they aren't @yahoo or @gmail or @hotmail accounts) and thus they belong to the business and not him personally.

I thought Bryan himself said that he was banned from CAP, I'm sure I can find that post around here somewhere...;)

he did but they said it was a mistake a ooopsie:eek:

this whole cap thing is just to far fetched to be true:rolleyes:

she was given her mod rights back but if she says 1 wrong thing or abuse's that privalage its c ya

Yeah, they said the same thing when Jeremy Enke was banned over at PAP and then they accessed his account to post under it supporting one of The Professors threads.

That was supposedely a "joke"

These people have a bad history of abusing privacy and speech in their communities, so it's still ridiculously laughable that we're expected to suddenly feel sorry for poor ol' Lou

THIS is NOT true. Please do not assume that you know what happened with the casinomeisters account at CAP because YOU don't.
Just to set the story straight, my account at CAP was disabled - I was put into a "red-headed step-child" user group where nearly all of the forums were no longer visible and my PM box was 100% maxed out with 2 PMs in it. Technically not banned - but truly disabled.

It didn't last long - as soon as I mentioned the fact here, it was a "oops, how'd that happen?" :what:

But that's over now. As Webzcas mentioned, there are other issues at hand.

@ Lou. As you are probably aware, you will probably not get too far with dramatising issues here. If you cannot use your CAP email, I'm sure you have a number of others at hand via your 200+ websites. Hell, what about gmail, hotmail, or yahoo email accounts?

You should be wise enough to know that using "casino" related email accounts for your kids' school, banks, and your doctors' is not the smartest thing to do. This should go without saying.

Where was this?

There was a thread from CAP that got copied before it was deleted.

I think there is copy of that CAP thread in one of the recent threads here that were started by Lou.

Any chance the cached version shows up in Google still? Or maybe it's found its way into the 'wayback' machine?

Jetset I have spoken with Raj and he has communicated via email that he wants to sell his interests in the company as he has no faith in the direction its been heading.

Seriously all of you should consider this. Instead of destroying its value with a public mudslinging contest you should all walk away and try to save your business which still has a decent value. A fire sale might encourage some of the affiliate companies to stay as they may trust the new ownership. Once those companies have walked away it will be very hard to bring them back no matter what.

Although your business has probably lost 80% of its value in a few months it will be a 95%+ loss if you keep up this mess, especially in the public's eye. SERPs are only worth so much and since the search engines are full of reports and threads about CAP's implosion those only have so much value anyway.

Excellent Post, Pokeraddict.

In the business world everything you state is very true. The loss of value will quickly be regained with the current owners out, lock, stock, and barrel.

I personally do not believe the value loss is quite as high, percentage wise, as you do, simply because they are still in a window of opportunity if they act quickly. The longer this mess drags on, the harder it will be to bring CAP back to it's old value.

Lou and Warren need to decide if it would be better to retire in the Bahamas or in Cleveland!! :p (no offense to any in Ohio, I grew up there!)

I was addressing the fact of WHO banned you not the fact that you were banned. ;)

I've been to both and Bahamas is much better. Cleveland is way to close to the lake and that bone chilling cold coming down from Buffalo is no joke!

It was at CAP last weekend. Being that I was one of the few active participants in the thread, if you want to get the correct facts, then hit me up and I'll give you all of the juicy details. :D
I've got it now.

@ everyone

Let me make a few clarifying statements here because I think there are some misconceptions floating around about what Casinomeister is...and isn't.

Casinomeister is a player AND casino advocate and information site. I am not and never have been solely focused on "the player" - the focus has been on the industry - the player being a good 60% of it. This is one of the reasons I have attended each and every conference as either "press" or "speaker" or both. I provide information.

The information provided is for everyone - this is why there are two newsletters - one with general good to know info for everyone (Meister Mail) and one for industry folk (Meister Blatt). It's been this way for some time now. If you didn't know this, then you are out of touch with what Casinomeister is.

In this thread that has been hidden away at CAP, I came under attack for starting some "affiliate project" which the Professor and others feel is competitive in nature. That is a load of hogwash.

There is a Webmaster section in this forum that is as old as CAP. Recently, I set up private forums for the affiliate programs that are represented by the Accredited Casinos at Casinomeister. It's open for registered webmasters of this forum and for the casino reps. That's it.

There is no certification - there is no charge. And the membership is limited, so how is this competition? :what:

And the last thing I want to do is organize some event. The London Meister Meeting is it. I'll book the bar and the musicians...that's about as far as I'll go.

Warning - analogy follows:

Let's say CAP had a beer stand and sold beer for $4 a glass to anyone and included with it a guarantee of 100% beer satisfaction (the certificate), and I'm across the street giving away free beer to my friends - with no guarantee at all...that's not competition. That's "free beer".

Also - I was not at CAP London. I attended the awards dinner, and the next day I hung out in the Novotel hotel lobby/bar for about an hour in order to meet Simmo and Spearmaster (who were staying there) for our Bath excursion. We left promptly at around 12.

I am not going after anyone with "ferocity", I'm not changing "plans" or directions, I'm not roguing people or things, I'm not trying to get a piece of "the pie"... I'm just doing what I do.

@ Lou - you need to PM me a new email address so I can update your profile. Thanks!

There is a little more to it, but you pretty much got the idea so I'll let the Professor address it so that BOTH sides of the story is known. :notworthy

Does your version of the juicy details have your snarky comments towards Bryan edited out?

If you post them then I will for sure verify if they are true or not. :D

I'm sure he has a copy of the thread by now.

No need for snide remarks. He hasn't logged in for a couple of days - at least not since I've been back. If he wants to finish the conversation that he started, well - he's welcome to it.

Other then that - it's business as usual.

Here's a suggestion for my fellow webmasters...move on and get busy on your websites, or whatever you do. This is nothing but a major distraction that serves no one but gossip mongers.

I can't believe the time I've wasted reading though most of this crap. Most of it is meaningless in the long run. If you are a webmaster and reading this - get busy with whatever project you have at hand. How much does this REALLY affect you? :what:

I am sorry:oops:

And now it's the sound of crickets chirping....

C'mon Lou, if you start a complaint thread - at least finish it. Don't leave us hanging. Thanks!
