I thought it would be interesting to know what part of the world we all are from, a little more specific that just the general location that shows on our profile. Only be as specific as you feel comfortable being, we are among friends here, but remember this site is visible to others all over the world.

I'll go first......I'm a North Carolina, USA gal!

I'm from a beautiful little town...Old Bethpage NY.

The only famous person to be born here that I know of is the actor John Savage.

I grew up about a half mileaway from the Bethpage Golf Course with the famous Black Course.

We have farms, Mountauk and the Hamptons. The beach all around us, Our NY Islanders, lots of Civil and Revolutionary war history.

I tried to put pics in here but it's not working.

You can also upload pictures in your Albums (check you user profile) and post the links here.

Me? Born in So. Cal., raised in No. Cal., worked in Ak for a few years, lived in the Carolinas for eight, lived in San Diego for another eight, and have been living in Bierland since 1999. :D

Born and raised in the Pacific Northwest, "Super Natural British Columbia!" the old license plates used to say. Lived up north, in the Prairies and Central Canada, later a while in Chi-town and half a summer in Santa Cruz. Now in the EU -- Vive la France!, or 'Sarkozistan' as some of us have taken to calling it lately -- just because I can.

High Mojave Desert, California. Yes, it is hot here............109 today and 5% humidity.:eek2:

I live in Western Massachusetts.

When we get 100 degree weather it also comes with 100% humidity

Last week we had 3 very hot days, high 90's-100, they closed schools the last day because the rooms were so hot. This week in the 70's.

30 degree drop within a week!!

A few pics

The pictures are a great idea! Here is some from the area I'm in.

Here is a little info from Wikepedia.
The Blue Ridge, or Blue Ridge Mountains, is a physiographic province of the larger Appalachian division. The province consists of the Northern and Southern physiographic sections, which divide near the Roanoke River gap.[1] They are a mountain chain in the eastern United States, part of the Appalachian Mountains, forming their eastern front from Georgia to Pennsylvania. To the west of the Blue Ridge, between it and the bulk of the Appalachians, lies the Great Valley, bordered on the west by the Ridge and Valley province. The mountains are well known for their bluish color when seen from a distance. Trees put the "blue" in Blue Ridge, from the hydrocarbons released into the atmosphere, thereby contributing to the characteristic haze on the mountains and their distinctive color.[2]

Within the Blue Ridge province, there are two National Parks: the Shenandoah in the northern section and the Great Smoky Mountains in the southern section. The Blue Ridge also contains the Blue Ridge Parkway, a 469-mile long scenic highway that connects the two parks and is located along the ridge crestlines along the Appalachian Trail.
