Hi all!Lately, I’ve noticed some pretty interesting notifications popping up when I play, and it got me wondering – do these vary for different types of players? Like, do high-rollers or regulars see something different? I remember getting a bonus after a big loss, and then I thought... "wow, that really worked".

Just curious if anyone else has had weird or standout notifications – the good, the bad.. I feel like some of them are just trying way too hard, while others actually get me pumped to play more. Anyone else noticed this or have favorites (or least favorites) they’ve seen?

This is a really interesting topic, good call @iGamer_addict

I personally don't like bonuses and try to avoid them generally. 50 times bitten, 50 times shy, something like that. So whenever I see a notification for a bonus pop up I do my best to ignore it.

Being based in the UK, the increase in responsible gambling messaging has been nothing short of a deluge in recent years for me. Even short sessions will generate a 'are you taking regular breaks' type message. I guess a lot of this is operators interpreting the rules of their licensing with the UKGC.

I like those when you get a wager-free bonus or cashback. About deposit bonuses, i don't care. There is one casino i play where they add 10-40x wagering-based bonuses to my account pretty often, and an email comes with a simple headline "Bonus Added". That one also isn't bad.

Okay these are pretty decent examples indeed. Wager-free bonuses and cashback – that's the dream, keep them coming, ha! Wish they’d keep it that simple and straight forward more often!

The most annoying are the ones at Mr Vegas, that pop up to tell me that I’ve won the 10’s, Jack’s or someother pointless bloody trophy, for the hundredth time.

The most annoying part is that they seem to run about 5 minutes behind the actual event so if I do manage to land a bonus, the bleeding notification sticker ends up blocking my view of what’s happening.

the most annoying is when casino send you bonus offer and give you 12hrs or 24 hrs to make deposit, another annoying when casino send you free spin offer 100 free spins if you make deposit £100 when you get free spins on £0.05 or £0.010 a spin wtf, on some 💩 slots no one plays on real money, also hot and cold slots you never know what hot mean, is slot paying, did somone just hit big, and now is hot?

The other thing is, this kind of marketing should be illegal. If slots are supposed to be random, you would never be able to say they are hot or cold because past play would count for nothing and future play cannot be predicted.

It's probably just a way of showing short-term recent trends. It means nothing more than people have or haven't been winning recently. I guess when sites add its a way of adding a bit more flair to their game page. The average players won't properly comprehend how RTP actually works so they might think that if something is "HOT" they are more likely to win but I think it only gets into dodgy territory if the website is trying to funnel players to low RTP games and the designation is arbitrary.

It's similar to the "we've given away £Xm in promotions"... if players aren't supposed to use past results as a guide of the future, why can operators?

That money is long gone... it's irrelevant to the conversation! Particularly if you are WH (surprise surprise) and you're giving away considerably less than you used to...

Most annoying recently is at a casino whom sent me an email saying here is your bonus.. my curiosity got the better of me, i log in and check there is a 30% bonus with like 45x wagering B+D so actually 90x, or the option to choose 10 freespins which has a 35x wagering from winnings.
Please casinos, remove that wagering on freespins, its rubbish nonsense.

Actually it's alot worse than 90x. It's x195b equivalent.

Deposit+bonus wagering is awful below 100% and helpful above it. A x25d+b wager on a 125% offer is lower wagering than a x50b wager on a 125% offer.

Good advice to never take a bonus with high xD+B wagering if it's under 100%. Even with optimal play (98% slot, max bet) the EV is very poor and without optimal play it's often very low or negative. If wagering is very low (x5-15d+b) then you'll be fine.

Only way i take absurd bonuses is if it is no sticky, then no matter terms it is basically a free chance to win something. Fact that i won 2-4k€ many times when max win was 50-500€ is another story.

Aye definitely. Usually when d+b wagering is involved it's a sign that the offer is not parachute (no sticky as you call it) but in the case of Altacore and some other sites it still is.

Interestingly, when the terms are good, it's usually higher EV (very slightly depending on what your cash out target is in cash) when it's cashable (no early cash out). I still prefer early cash out offers as if lowers the variance.
