Player alleges he spent £43k at Ladbrokes, no checks. Then sabotaged thread.

Back in 2015 I lost £50000 in under an hour on high stakes Sky Vegas roulette.
Maybe it should have flagged up and prevented me from losing so much, but it didn't and that's that. To be honest it never crossed my mind at the time that it was Sky's fault. I just took the view that I'd been a stupid twat driven by greed and I paid the price for that and still am to this day... Never played roulette since though, not even one go.

I think nobody is trying to argue that Op is without blame.
But i still think the question 'did ladbrokes handle everything the right way from a responsible gambling viewpoint' is valid, and if they did, is the regulations surrounding responsible gambling reasonable as they are?

I dont know what the rules say, but with all the threads about sow-checks ive seen over small sums (in comparison) im kind of surprised a 10k deposit wouldnt initiate an automatic lock on deposits until checks have been made to see where the money is coming from.

Edit: The way it works now it seems that money going in is never a problem, and checks are only ever done when money is about to leave the casino. Seems kind of backwards.

I think Ladbrokes should give him his whole £43k back plus interest and compensation.

Oh wait! that's just what he wants to hear.

This stupid twat spunked away the value of a small home for some folks in an hour and a year later is "reviewing" his online losses and decides ti question whether Ladbrokes should have let him gamble. Please do not let this guy breed.

I would sincerely hope that CM mods would accept the OP posting an update at some future point should such be requested. I have seen members have to have posts approved prior to posting before.

Most matters, even if court proceedings are initiated end up "settlement/agreement reached" without any details as it is resolved before trial.

I am unsure about UK, but in many jurisdictions civil proceedings are public record.

Well, i deposited for 10 years almost every weekend regularly non stop from friday evening till sunday evening 10,20,10,30,40,10,20,10,30,40,10,20,10,30,40,10,20,10,30,40 if luck wasnt on my side till i lost my month salary, this on a very accredited casino. Never ever i heard something about it, while it is really obvious someone with a problematic gambling addiction .. In the past they had a bonus department, wich gave me nice free spin rewards )no wagering) etc. But that is replaced with a automatic system, wich give me almost nothing back the way i play. I dont dare to check the total of my deposits since 2010. I could have had a nice own house and a big car and many more. BUT im addicted. Sorry this i just wanted to write, i think it has not much to do with the topic

Edit: On only 1 of the 5 casino's. where i deposited regularly I think 50.000 deposits of 20eu on average (gddmn) since 2014:

Deposits: 103,876.42
Withdrawals: € 70,729.10
Lost: € -33,147.32

Im that far dead inside that it dont even hurt me anymore when i now see this for first time.

Dude, zoek hulp. Gambling addiction is real and casino's are all designed to extract you from your money as fast as possible.

33k loss is'nt that bad; you could argu that you missed a year here and there. If you just stop playing you'd save on every weekend the avg you deposit(s). Start finding or seeking different hobby's. Replace one thing with another. You can do it.
