Hello,

I was wondering, can a casino require phone verification if their terms and conditions don't mention it? Since I don't have a working phone atm and won't be repairing it soon, it could be challenging to receive a phone call, and I won't pay a penny to use a phone booth either (not that there even is public phones here  ). This was the reason I played there since according to their T&C they don't require one.

Their terms said they can request documents: ID, CC and utility bill which I already sent them. But no mention of a verification that I'm a human and not a robot. Though their terms didn't mention that non-humans can't play :D

So I have no idea why it's needed. The amount is also only 100€ ish. I'd understand if I was withdrawing 1 000 000€

I've only used Credit card to deposit and it was also my withdraw choice.

I've heard several players mention they were required to have phone verification from some casinos. I know several of the ewallets (Neteller and Click2pay used to) require phone verification on sign up. Sorry, this isn't more hepful.

Just tell them you have the same number as when they phoned you upon receiving your 1st deposit, catch my drift ;).

I am one of those that had to do phone verifications on my first deposit at two different casinos.

Just as a bank doesn't need to put it in their disclosure, I believe because it has to do with exchanging monies, they need to know it really is you, just as all credit card companies and anywhere you have a loan must be able to contact you, I believe, this is just standard procedure.

How do you call people and they you if you have no access to a phone? Just curious. I give my cell phone to all.

.

kujis Oh I'm very antisocial so I can live for a long time without a phone.
LOL fair enough! ...but you might have to change your ways some to get your monies...from many casinos nowadays want to know your contact info..which is your phone number too, even if it is a cell phone..

.

Did they require a phone number upon registration?

If they did, and you gave one, they would expect to be able to contact you on it. If they can't they will be suspicious.

You should tell them that your phone is broken. They can certainly use an alternative means of verification. Often this is done by strenghthening the level of verification from other means. The simplest is for them to ask for a photo of you holding up your ID documents. This should be quick and easy to prepare and send. Another method, one used by the old Australian based Lasseters & Ausvegas casinos is to send a letter to your address with a unique code on it. You verify your account by quoting this unique code. Lasseters did this by always sending the first withdrawal by cheque, including the verification code in the covering letter. Once the cheque was cashed, and the code entered, your account would be verified.

Phone verification is used because in most cases, it is quick & convenient. Alternatives are slower and less convenient.

Do you have evidence to support the status of your phone, such as a letter from the phone company detailing the problem, and cost/timetable of a resolution?

Being overly anxious can also make the casino suspicious. Instead, and given how small an amount this is, tell them that you will hold off from withdrawing and further play until you can get your phone fixed, and can pass verification. This makes it much more likely they will look for alternatives, rather than potentially have you as an inactive customer. Fraudsters tend to want their money fast, and generally don't like to cooperate with extended verification procedures, since this is how most are caught out.

I live chatted the other day with a rep from some sportsbook that mailed me a 100/100 offer, with no mention of terms. She wanted my name and phone number right off. Told her there was no way I was going to give her my number as I was only a potential customer. She said it was needed for verification. Verification of what?

Said never mind, closed the chat, and ripped up the offer.

When I first deposited at High Noon and Manhattan Slots (both Club World) a screen came up saying I needed to call them or they would call me. I have also had numerous calls when I have deposited at different Rivals. I think it is rather redundant but oh well....if it makes them feel better!

I got calls from a couple of the Club World casinos after making my first deposit and playing a bit. For me it's not a big deal if they're calling for verification - it's when they start calling to offer me bonuses to deposit that I start getting annoyed.

same here. ive had high noon and several others send a pop up when i was playing slots. so i imedialtely went to live chat and asked why they needed to call my home phone for verification.? they explained just for verification.. i proceeded to tell them it was ok to call me at this time. . anyway suport came back to live chat and said they couldnt get thru on my line and aksed me to call them . so imedialtely i replied on chat and said yes i will call you right now. it rings and the person im talking to on chat answered the call and we lauged and i answered a question or two and thats all. it wasnt to much involved in it.

I had a casino ask if they could call me a couple of years ago. I forget which one. I said "Be my guest."

They came back and said they couldn't get through. I said "Well, you better keep trying because I know my phone number and I know my phone works."

Funnily enough once they realized I had no intention of calling them they managed to get through.
