Online slots are extremely toxic

I would like to start a discussion, on the fact that online slots is extremely toxic. For some of you know i'm used to landbased play, and i closed my accounts online a few days ago completely. I dont feel like ever going back to such toxic places which call themself online casino's. I cant help the fact that once was supposed to be fun online play turned into a complete disaster with being more and more mad at myself day in day out. I realised, this is not just my fault, but the toxic enviroment i'm being led into with online play.

Honest, random, this, that, all of 'm scream from the big buildings that all slots are genuine, i dont believe any of 'm saying at all when playing over 20k myself in barely a half year and have a overall losing rate of 85%. I realise that online slotting in general is such crafted to guarantee a income, profit for casino's who would like to play things fair for themself. There's absolutely no feedback on people who have an issue or would like to discuss a subject with a casino overall.

The responsible gaming is a joke as well. Nobody bothers as long as you keep depositting. Hell i wasted a good 3500 euro on one day, to play a stressfull bunch of slots and after 5 hours barely being 100 euro ahead.

Streamers are a joke. Have you people seen their faces when they actually win 10K? It's like watching a junkie getting high on live-stream. It's a fantasy world where the only thing matters are affiliate links and the signups of a new breed possible gambling addicts. I think the industry is becoming a very rotten place. That once was a challenge, fun and entertaining, now simply shifted over to pay-for-entertainment with a huge cost at the end.

So yeah you got a good bonus and you withdrawled. Now make the numbers for yourself on long term if you are even ahead of set back just a tiny bit. I know 10 different ways to spend my money in a right way.

So yeah, there you have it. I woke up today, realising online gambling is the most toxic enviroment there is with a risk of becoming socially isolated with devastating dangers. Chasing fantasy dragons. Fuck that. If i want a fun night, online casino's is absolutely not the way to go.

Looking at country's legalising online gambling more and more due to tax revenue, i think the world is ahead of alot of future complications. Enjoy your few wins, sooner or later your caught in the same web as i was, where my mind slowly is taken over by the toxic enviroment online slots has to offer.

I'm stronger then that. I make more money on my own then 5 of these casino's staff do on avg a quarter a month. To hell with 'm. Losers.

Well, pints of bitter all round is it?

If you make so much money then why complain about losing? We all lose in the long run. So 'making more in a month than 5 casino staff do in a quarter' gives you some kind of superiority over them?

Why assume we will all be 'caught in the same web as you'? You obviously couldn't control it without totally stopping or excluding, which by your statement I can only assume you have done.

Sorry if it sucked you in, you won't be the first or last.

The maths is there for all to see. You get 96% back on slots. Imagine a savings account that paid -4% interest. You save 1k and in 12 months you get 960 back - crap, but you could live with it. In slotting though that happens every time you turn your bankroll over, on the same day. With that in mind, it's all about being sensible and withdrawing when you are ahead however much you are enjoying the feeling of winning. Not withdrawing and playing a bankroll to destruction is the mistake many players make and I've done it enough times in the past too.

I see your point about streamers but remember their gambling has no personal risk as it's directly or indirectly funded or insured by the casinos and/or their affiliate programmes.

Most casinos have very effective RG tools to ensure YOU are in control, whether loss-limits, deposit limits or TAB/SE.

Only so much can be blamed on the industry or casinos before one looks at their own behaviour and responsibility.

The thing is, you never exceed to win big enough to overcome your session. And if you do the "maths' will make sure you won't anyway. I can recall 7 out of 10 times going landbased and leaving the place with profit. This was something i could never reproduce no matter what tactic online. Perhaps it was the shitty casino i was playing at all the time. You know that RTP does'nt tell you anything at all. I could play 85% RTP slots and still come out ahead, if you know what i mean.

It's just so extremely toxic. It does'nt take being addicted to become addicted to (online) slots. The deviance is set to such extreme levels that it takes, days, weeks before something big happens. Playing for days or weeks requires a pretty neath bankroll my man. I know my outcome would be different in landbased casino's. Perhaps that is the whole reason why i feel i cant get around online play. Fuck 'm. I like entertainment, i know the risk of gambling and that it might take a loss here and there, but 85% in general of OVERALL deposits?

You get scared continuing because the favor might turn against you in less then a minute again. I've never seen such stressfull things going on playing online. The shit is just toxic as hell.

And here I thought that land based casinos have a similar, if not worse RTP than online.

Every time I play at a land based casino, my bankroll doesn't last as long as it does online.

Slots are designed to take your money. They are never meant to make you a profit long term. And that applies to both online and land based.

That figure is meaningless without context. If you tend to set unrealistic withdrawal targets or play your balance to destruction then it's not unexpected. For all we know on many of those sessions you could have been ahead, say doubling your deposit and then carried on until you lost.

I posted 2 days ago about some new slot releases and I agree with most of your opening post.
Especially the new slots seem to be designed to get your money as quick as possible, bonus rounds nowhere to be seen and tons of dead spins.
I have done better in b&m casinos myself on the long run. My online RTP is not close to be as good as my results in my local casinos.
That said, I like to play the older games from certain providers like MGS, Netent, WMS and Greentube and they always give me decent playtime and sometimes some decent hits.
The new slots have done nothing for me with an exception here and there, so I know what you mean.

I think @dunover explained in short very well how streamers work.
I don't watch them as I despise them, they are the rotten apples in this industry pushing people to sign up for certain casinos and make them play leading them to believe they will get the same "fake" monster hits all the time.
Very few are genuine but there are a few nice chaps out there.
But as long as people watch these tard streamers, keep depositing and Youtube / Twitch not caring, I do not see them vanish anytime soon.

Anyway good luck with going to land based casinos mate!! I go sometimes too but I still like playing from the comfort of my home with a pint and a ciggie! :)

i have absolute confidence in the fairness of slots (at least, netent, wms, playngo..dont touch other providers)
but i think honestly most people make the mistake of betting too low.
doing so, you will never achieve a cashout really worth withdrawing and inevitably go bust as the 95% grinds you slowly down.

@trancemonkey wanna come play? :D

Sorry, but the fact is, some like online, some like B and Ms - they both are designed, overall, to slowly whittle away your bucks for some enterainment, irrespective of whether player A has had a better overall run at one setting than Player B.

And frankly, youve gone over this ad nauseum in the AMA - youre welcome to create a thread, but it's all there - by you - and been addressed

well, that really depends what your WD threshold is - some it's 1k, some it's 50 bucks

This is not true, I have enough sessions where I overcame my session by far. A few days ago I lost 300 €, today I deposited 40 € and won 285 € and a few months ago I deposited 10 € and won 300 €. I mean it is possible to win big, but overall we will lose money at gambling.

However I can understand you a little bit. My biggest wins are online (2000x was my best win, landbased was 250x), but I had the most playtime for my money in landbased. I can often play for hours with 100 €, but online there is a chance to lose 100 € in 15 minutes pretty quickly and often. Maybe the variance is different, I somehow can also enjoy landbased and not start chasing losses like an ape. When I deposit online, for example, 50 € and it is gone in 5 minutes at 0,40 € stakes (yes it happened! Dead Princess...) I feel tempted to deposit again and try to get something out again.

In landbased I put 10 € in, playing at least 15-30 minutes, then putting another 10 € ... and it feels really good (the people around me laugh about my 10 € :( but when one guy laughed at me and I knew he lost 1000 € already I just told him to keep up his winning strike and wished him much more luck - he stopped smiling after that :) ... and raised the bet size ).

(To be fair, at landbased I use no quick spin)

Wow, i need to quote a few messages, this escalated fast lol.

And here I thought that land based casinos have a similar, if not worse RTP than online.

Every time I play at a land based casino, my bankroll doesn't last as long as it does online.

Slots are designed to take your money. They are never meant to make you a profit long term. And that applies to both online and land based.

Yes i am very aware of that. It's the risk i was willing to take when gambling. I am not the type of player that comes in with 100 bucks to last as long as possible. I'm a player that comes in with a 1000 and works to triple that up by using slots. And yes there's ways for that. It's really simple actually. Take your favorite game of choice, find at least 5 slots, and dump in 200 a slot / play max bet. One of those will hit 7 out of 10 times, big enough, to overcome your initial bankroll. Leave when ahead.
That figure is meaningless without context. If you tend to set unrealistic withdrawal targets or play your balance to destruction then it's not unexpected. For all we know on many of those sessions you could have been ahead, say doubling your deposit and then carried on until you lost.

Well my motto was double or nothing. That should work in a sensible matter when going online. Just make sure your spins are within 2 to 4% of your bankroll and your buying enough 'spins' basicly for a bigger boom bonus. Frankly, this is not happening at online. It's swallowing away your money easily, compensating you on small wins all the goddamn time. When my session ended, i would have noted a usual with the 3% margin of RTP, but still on a loss. Nobody is going to play on a slot that will make you lose anyway. We're playing for the bigger win, right?

I posted 2 days ago about some new slot releases and I agree with most of your opening post.

Yes, agreed. And yes, agreed again. Streamers are either in it or own it themself. They make their viewers believe that gambling is a way to fund anything within your lifestyle you want. Such easy money right? I have'nt come close to such bizarre sessions. And this is what bothers me the most about online slots. The crazy 3000x hits or so at 60 pence and the big betters averaging around 5 to 20 a spin barely getting 20x. The big betters are always being discriminated against the ones playing as long as possible.

And i think that is a intentional move as well, from the casino industry, to trick players into believing it's a easy way of making money, thus starting to bet bigger, and so the cycle repeats itself. In my opinion, RTP is not everything. You could have a slot with 100% RTP and still lose, lol. Maths, algorithms, deviation, everything comes into play, but none of these casino's really explain on how their system works. Ffs offer a fair play on which everyone has a chance.
This is not true, I have enough sessions where I overcame my session by far. A few days ago I lost 300 €, today I deposited 40 € and won 285 € and a few months ago I deposited 10 € and won 300 €. I mean it is possible to win big, but overall we will lose money at gambling.

(To be fair, at landbased I use no quick spin)

If i won big on landbased, it would give me playmoney to start playing big. My motto on this one, if i lose it, it's no problem. The money was'nt mines anyway, but i attempted a shot at winning big. And there where actually a few sessions on landbased where i won big. Leaving the casino with 17k cash and security following you up to your car, that kind of stuff. If a slot hit, move on to the next one. It's that simple.

With online, forget it. Moving to another slot was'nt really 'changing' anything. I feel like it's more how much you wager overall before the thing starts doing something. There is no real luck in online slots. I feel alot better closing my accounts online. I do have grief over the fact that i pushed myself into this trouble all for nothing.

My mind feels alot more clear now and i'm focusssing on that what is important for me again. Those articles on the net are'nt there for a reason, where the avg Joe becomes a serious problem gambler playing away into oblivion. And yet there is barely a game provider or online casino TESTING their own product except for maximizing their profits. The business is rotten. Fuck that.

I think my advise to anyone dealing with these issues, to simply stop trying to chase your losses. It proberly hurts for a day or 2, but after that starts coming down again. You could easily spend the money on much greater things then living like a isolated person gambling it's money again.

Like; marketing of some casino's is just without any moral, and only about money. I've seen the emails coming in around christmass, people's loan / payday and all that. How many people did spend their money on gamblign while not furfilling their obligations and all that. I'm not saying I was in that situation but if your going down that rabbit hole you can pretty much sense in what a online gambling addiction could push you into.

Sorry man. These games are 85% having sex, without the possibility of having a orgasm if i may express myself like this. And it's frustrating as hell losing money on slots. One time, two times, three times, losing i know and it's a part of the game. But overall 85% on a 6 months timeline into this one particular casino and we're talking 25k or so, is just bullshit.

Not wanting to turn this topic into yet another one discussing streamers, but I never heard any of the streamers saying that you should play slots in order to make money. The opposite is actually the case, almost all of them say that you are set to lose money playing slots.

Uh yeah and anyone going to pay attention to that? it's like having "Smoking kills" on a package of sigarettes, which no smoker is ever going to bother about.

You see the initial thumbnail they use on their advertised video's. Hands in hair like it's a OMFGWTF win. So easy guys! Winning with streaming, here just follow the link and you'll get 250 free spins and 500 $ bonus, lol. The business is rotten. Affiliates going further and further down the line and scream harder to be noted. There's a new bread of gamblers (generation after generation) coming and they want it.

That is true inter but it's the face palm type reactions, the disbelief and amazement they portray when a large win comes as if they've never had one. I do clinch my fist and go 'yes!', it's relief.

But I think their reactions are more NLP based, its a marketing business at the end of the day and they're self aware of the message they are trying to give over, to basically influence as many viewers to sign up with the hope they too can experience the same joy. But of course unlike the streamers they will not get any of the generous daily bonuses to subsidise their play and increase the chances of hitting something. probably end up doing their bollix in if they try too hard as well.

edit: just to add I think I've only seen a small bit of one of your streams interlog, [actually I think it was when the streamer debate was going on last time :)] there was lots of swearing which I like  and I got the sense your reactions were exactly the same as the normal player at home, so I'm definitely not having a dig at your videos.

and what, landbased commerials and adverts show players bummed out and losing hand over fist as a discouragement? no bands, and pretty waitresses and jingling bells, and sunny smiling people?

Uh yeah but a casino is a bit more then just a hardcore gambling establishment. It's entertainment. Bright lights, drinks, food, music, entertainment, people for example. You name it. This is how casino's started in the first place if we go back in time.

Online is completely the opposite, cold ass shit. I could design a casino website myself as well since i'm a professional in IT for over 10 years now. Hell i could start my own casino if i wanted to, make you and other feel the fantasy a bit more compared to most of the other casino's working very hard for their brand out there. I would do it a tad better, advertise with perhaps 97 to 98% RTP and still have your bankroll turned over that easily because of well crafted maths, models and all that supplied by game providers.

Yeah it's designed to make you feel comfertable. Casino's spend millions into R&D and even in the chair you are sitting in while playing slots. Is'nt a club, disco or bar done in the same way?

I bust out in Land Based mainly.I like them though, but it’s more for the night out/experience. Probably one of the reason I hardly ever leave in profit is due to my own play: i go once a month and it’s super boom or bust. If online and I’m 400 up : it’s coming out. LB i say, stupidity to myself, well I came out for a night out so I’m not leaving at 10pm etc. So my balance is played normally to destruction.

I tend to go to remind myself that gambling need not be a solitary exercise.

Same - I like an odd night out, listen to the band, have a buffet. Though onine for me generally isnt solitary - mom will pull up a chair and we get excited for each other. Others come here and share

I know your luck is better online, it's the big betters who's bin funding that circus which makes you win more often. Spending countless of hours for a few hundreds. You can have it man.

Fair rant, I have no issues with it aside from insulting casino employees.

The examples you give of being toxic are mostly things that can controlled by you. No one forces you on twitch or to deposit on casinos. The mistake you are making is its a way to make money. Slots should be looked at as a way to have some fun once and awhile and maybe get lucky and get a nice big win. Every single time I deposit, I have prepared myself completely, this is lost money. What I can say is no matter who you are, losing streaks get very tiring and frustrating. I have learned to deal with them to play less, deposit smaller and bet smaller. Alot of people do the opposite and it turns into disaster and rants like this. They bet bigger, deposit more and play more.

I find it very surprising how stupid people are about streamers. They think oh this guy power spins 20 euro all day so can I. Well no. Alot of these streamers are on casino money, cashback deals and capped winning deals. Again we go back to casinorobot because he is a perfect example. Every single person thought he was legit. All the streamers defended him, all the viewers, he was very good friends with many streamers. Until he got drunk and accidentally showed he was on a test account. Stop trusting people you do not know.

It only becomes toxic if you let it and it sounds like you are spending too much time around it and cannot handle it. Join a gym, go to the movies, go out for dinner, go for walks, start a series on netflix. Do things you enjoy or search out new hobbies
