Hi everyone, I just joined and need some depositing advice, please bare with me for being so un-informed about this...I am from United States.

I need some options that doesn't include credit card depositing.

I know about Firepay and Neteller...but how do you get money into them without using your credit card?

My preference would be to send a money order, do casinos accept those?

What about Western Union? Isn't there a fee for me to use that? Say I wanted to play with $50, I would hate to have to pay $15 just to get the money there.

Also I heard that the casinos don't accept pre-paid credit cards (the ones you can buy at CVS)

Any options or advice would be greatly appreciated.

Hi just play,

I'll resist the temptation to answer "needs depositing advice" with "don't" :)

NETeller (NT) allows you to fund your NT account in 3 ways: cards, Bank Wire and Internet Banking. The time varies as to how long it takes - usually between same day and 3 days.

Not sure about Firepay though. I would add that using Internet Banking, and the "lag" experienced in transfers, does help you to avoid the temptation of repeated credit card use after a bad session!

Cheers

Hello and Welcome to the world of Online Gaming.

My advice, don't waste your money sending them a MO. It's not worth your money.

Just fund your Neteller or Firepay account via your bank account and you'll be all set and ready to go. If you don't want it to have anything to do with your bank account, then perhaps you would have to walk into any CVS and/or other stores to get a Prepaid MasterCard. (Please do not get a Visa as if I'm not mistaken, they have ruled out Online Gambling TOTALLY)

Those are the 2 best ways of getting your money to them so that you could play online. You could checkout the other various methods that the casino accepts too by clicking on their "Banking" or "Deposit" page. It should be very easily located.

By the way, please do choose your casino wisely. One of the best way to do so is to just look at the "Accredited Casino" list which could be found above on this page.

If you choose a casino from there, you should/would most probably not run into any problems at all. They are all good casinos there!

Good luck to you and again, welcome to this forum too :)

Firepay also allows you to fund via your bank (Internet banking). Personally, I don't use these options, only because it is far too easy to overspend. I use a prepaid credit card, which works fine at any of the casinos that I play at (only three). However, I am in Canada, and this may not hold true for US residents. I also use Payspark, which can be funded via Western Union..or by a transfer from a merchant (ie. a cashout) or from certain affiliate companies (affiliate payments).

As to Western Union, there are not many options open anymore via that route.

Hope this helps. :)

Excellent advice, and something I always forget to remind the newbies of.

Thank you everyone!!!

So those pre-paid credit cards DO work? As long as it's MasterCard?

As far as the accredited casinos...any of the ones on Casino Meisters page are fine to play?

Oh...I just thought of something...so I go get a pre-paid mastercard, and deposit, then how would I withdrawl? (assuming I would win) Can they put my winnings onto that card?

Worth checking with the casino's support. The Support page will probably have a "live chat" or email link. If you pick a casino from the accredited list, have a look at that page. Be aware that most will ask you to supply some sort of ID by fax or email the first time you withdraw.

You might like to try one of the "Microgaming" ones on that list first off. The Cryptologic ones use a system called "Ecash" and there will be at least a two day delay while they "mail" you a PIN number to withdraw.

Finally, read the Terms & Conditions page carefully, especially where a bonus is concerned. There will be heavy restrictions on how it can be used, usually meaning you can't withdraw until you have done xx bets (normally a lot!). Some people (me included) prefer to play without a bonus when we sign up, others like it and play it very carefully.

Funny how different it is in the UK to the USA!
Over here most Visa & Mastercard credit cards can be used to deposit, but I think I'm right in saying you can't withdraw to any Mastercard.
Also some Visa's charge a 'Cash Advance Fee' (AKA Rip-off) for depositing to gambling sites.

My suggestion is go with Neteller - it's by far the easiest way IMO.

Just play, if you are planning to play casinos or pokerrooms on a regular basis, it's worth it to open a neteller account (yes, you must have a bank account). Go with the EFT option and you will never pay any fees at all. It takes 4-5 business days to get your funds from your bank acct into your neteller. It takes 2 business days to get your funds from your neteller into your bank account.

Neteller is totally safe and it's a great place to "hold" your funds while looking for other opportunities on where to play next. If a casino/pokerroom offers a great bonus, you can jump right on it if you always keep some funds in neteller. Many of these special bonus offers are weekend deals so you don't have much time to deposit. Unless you have money sitting in neteller, you will miss out on those opportunities.

I also suspect that because neteller does such a thorough job of checking out their prospective account holder, you will run into far fewer hassles when cashing out. I started playing casinos two months ago but have played a LOT of poker in the last year at many, many pokerrooms. So far, i have never had a request to furnish ID when withdrawing. This reduces the risk for ID theft and speeds up the general withdrawal process.

Hi Just Play, welcome to the forum. Good advice in the above responses, not much to add here. Neteller so far has been OK for me, too. No major problems, just minor inconveniences a couple of times. For me, it takes only 24h for a bank transfer to appear in my Neteller account (Europe).

They are all good choices, but since you're just starting, might as well start with the very best. Check out the Casinomeister 2005 awards, and pick one of the winners. Can't go wrong with those. My recommendation is 32Red, I can't imagine a better casino for beginners. They are very helpful and sensible people, and will not give you any grief over bonuses or withdrawals. Microgaming is a good software to start with. Microgaming has an excellent feature where you can set the program to always choose the optimal cards for you in video poker, blackjack, and so on.

Oh...I just thought of something...so I go get a pre-paid mastercard, and deposit, then how would I withdrawl? (assuming I would win) Can they put my winnings onto that card?

Just e-mail the casino support, and ask.

Stay smart. You'll get help here if you run into problems.

Cheers,
SM

How hard would you guys kick me if I said I don't like 32 RED? :eek2:

I went there last night to check them out and talked to a wonderful woman named Diane I think. But before that it took forever to download the site (I could have deposited and lost before the thing downloaded :p ) then it wouldn't let me sign up, I have no idea why, when I clicked the register button it kept saying something like "page cannot be displayed" or one of those type things. I must have tried 10 times, then just gave up and deleted the site from my computer.

I believe I am going to get one of those pre-paid cards tonight or tomorrow and see how I do.

Thanks again for all your help everyone!!!!

well i guess this isn't the right way for me to gamble...i tried 3 casinos, they all declined my pre-paid card...oh well.....

good luck everyone

Have you tried Roxy Palace and/or Vegas Splendido? My prepaid card worked at Roxy Palace just fine.....up until I forgot to update my address with the casino. That had nothing to do with the card though, just my own stupidity. As I mentioned before though, I live in Canada, and things are slightly different here. However, I know that quite a few people that live in the US use the prepaid cards. Which one do you have? I seem to remember reading that Netspend and/or Greendot were the most successful ones. Don't quote me on that though.

Options

I find the easiest option is to have a SEPARATE checking/savings account from your household account connected to use with Neteller/Firepay deposits to track your play/wins/deposits/withdrawals easier.

For new users, Neteller will make your deposits clear 3 times (3-4 day wait)before you can do "Instant" transfers (immediate) to a casino for free, as long as the casino has this option (which is my #1 depositing). Firepay charges a small fee (my 2nd option) and they are both connected to my banking account for gaming only. I also use this account for Paypal ect.

I don't like mixing personal and fun money so I go this route.

Good Luck!
