New or Old Member

Hi everyone, I am a new member but I actually thought I had joined here about 9 or 10 years ago from GG. I guess at that time, I didn't know what I had to do to actually post something and it didn't work. So, all these years, I had thought I was a member here..
Yes, I am very tech challenged, I am an artist.. that is to say, I paint.. So, I am all right-sided brain. Anyway, I have been getting Emails since November, telling me I had to post something here to introduce myself, and it has taken until January to find the time and figure it out.. I know there are a lot of GG members here also, so hello to them. and hello to all the Casinomeister members here as well.
My username here is akagazelle, but my GG name is gazelle. When I tried to register as gazelle, it told me that there was already a "gazelle" how funny if that person was ME from ten years ago!!


BTW, I did NOT paint the avatar, I only chose this because they did not have a picture of a gazelle.. or, a picture of an akagazelle either. ha ha

Actually, it is not so unusual to join the forum and wait for ages/years to post. It's ok to just jump in wherever you feel comfortable.

My suggestion is to start a thread about why you have akagazelle as your username. I would find that interesting!

Hi Gazelle! You know you can upload your own graphic to use as an avatar also? So if you find a cute gazelle picture (or paint one!) you can upload a small version to use for your avatar.

Thank you Googobucs for the "welcome" to me. I do use the name Gazelle and I hope there isn't another one already here. If there is, I guess akagazelle is fine also, or aka..

Suzecat.. The reason I use the name, Gazelle, is because that is the name my boyfriend/husband has called me since the day he met me. We have been together for 22 years now. When I started to paint in 1996, I had a restaurant, and a patron encouraged me to hang my paintings there. The only way I would do that was by using a pseudonym, I then started painting using "Gazelle" on my works. Then, I turned the restaurant into a restaurant/gallery type establishment. Very soon afterwards, I gave up the business and started a career as a mural artist and painter.
I must say, I still have no idea why my Alan still sees and calls me Gazelle? Obviously "Love is blind" as they say and also has poor vision!

Thank you all for your replies, interest and advice, I really appreciate it and will try to figure things out and get better at this posting. But, if you don't see me soon please alert the "Cyber Patrol" and tell them I am lost in space.

Chayton.. Where did you get that graphic, it is too cute! As for me "uploading" anything here, I think I had better learn how to navigate, post, reply, and find out what all these symbols and everything else here operates first. This is like another planet to me..

Thanks so much, BigJohn, I was hoping someone could show me where to find out where things are hidden.. Yes, I am not an explorer type, being an artist, I hate text and love pictures. Okay, in layman's terms that is also considered LAZY, I confess to being both.
As for jumping into things, I don't think my doctor wants me doing that anymore, I can't even climb scaffolds to paint murals now! Pffft! It stinks getting old and getting hurt!

Sorry forgot to answer you, I just found it online and had to make it smaller so I could upload it. If you want to use it for your avatar, feel free!

Just right-click and save it to your computer, then go to 'settings' then on the left side menu edit avatar then on the part where it says 'Use custom avatar' option 2, browse for the file and upload it. Then at the bottom click 'save changes' and it will show up in all your posts. Or upload any other file you want to use for a custom avatar, underneath the browse it has file size limits, if anything is too big it will give you an error. You can change it any time you want.

WOW! You really made my night but I might need a little time and maybe some more help. I know I saw "Settings" someplace and I will feel very STOOPID (using an Ex-NY accent) if I am staring at it and still miss it..And I have used the "Browse" option on my PC several times before but I don't think I ever found what I was looking for.
Yes, I did mention that I was all right sided brain, right? Maybe I'll just try to make this a screensaver for my PC. With me, it is always better to do things in small hoof steps first..

A quick thought if you ever are in need of some new ideas for your art and to paint - maybe painting something with a CM theme or slot theme (think "dogs playing poker") or something like that might be something you'd like to try maybe one day

I know I saw "Settings" someplace....

If you look up at the top of any page when you're logged into the forum on the header (right under the guy with the spear) you'll see a small horizontal menu bar with a facebook button (so you can connect with facebook I guess? lol don't really know, I don't use it) then next to it there's your name (with a silly message usually), a notifications link (so if someone sends you a private message or anything like that it will show up there) and next to it are links to 'my profile' and 'settings', plus a link to log out.

There are multiple menus all over the place, so it can be a little hard to find everything until you get used to it. But don't worry, you don't have to learn how to do everything all at once and if you ever need any help figuring out how to do something, just ask.

Just FYI I've been a member here for a long time and I still don't know what everything does or where to find everything either!
