Yes I'd say that's a pretty decent synopsis
So in the Bonanza thread someone will post a screenshot of a big max-Megaways hit, or a certain feature trigger, something particular during the feature happening, or even just a big basegame hit - and you'll get folks who are slightly outraged that 'Thing X' has never happened to them.
Statistically you can almost think of it as getting annoyed that Fred from Basingstoke won the National Lottery and becoming personally aggrieved that you have never won the National Lottery yourself. These are statistically extremely rare occurrences and the fact it's happened to one person doesn't mean it's 'due' to happen to you as well.
The reason I keep pointing people back to this thread is that (AFAIK) it's the only properly documented example here at CM of someone going all out for a 'jackpot win' on a slot, and tracking it the whole way with stats, the ups and the downs, and how the RTP fluctuates wildly early on before settling down over time as the sample size gets larger and larger.
But Dice Fusion is not Bonanza some will say in reply! To which the answer is exactly the same fundamental concepts are in play, to understand my journey with Dice Fusion in this thread, is to understand Bonanza.
Good posts by you two. I seem to recall you had a good go at Tunzamunni too?
Yes, the sense of perspective is often missing when referencing others' slot play.
Your TFC 5600x hit was an outlier, yet a fraction of what it could have been with a purple on reel 6 on either of those two (reel 1 purple) spins with 256x wild.
There's a 4400x base game Bonanza win somewhere on CM, over 4x more than my biggest base game hit which was a once-in-ten-years hit for me.
The Lil' Devil 40p bonus by a UK player that got to over/near 120,000x IIRC, nothing came close since. Nik Robinson said in billions of test spins nothing like that was recorded. Incredible spawn.
Naturally, as a player you would experience ALL those examples if you played long enough but we don't, hence the feeling of missing out.
To put it another way - if we all paid the VToS (Voluntary Tax on Stupidity) viz-a-viz the National Lottery, two draws a week. If we stuck to the same numbers, entered the two weekly draws giving 104 goes with our numbers a year:
Odds against on one ticket are 45,057,474/1 so we would expect on average to win the bastard once every 433,245 weeks. Or once every 8,332 years.
It therefore comes down to WHEN we win it. If you were 1,000x ahead of the curve (in the first 0.1 percentile) you would win it within your first 433.2 weeks, or within 8 years and 4 months. The you would be the spawny twat, the jammy f*cker, the one getting a huge RTP because it's 'rigged' for the rest of us.
And that's the whole point - it's WHEN we pull that special ball out of the bag, not if, because we all would if we played long enough and the longer you play the more likely you are to be very near the game's overall TRTP.
The fact is, despite outrageous exaggerations to the contrary regarding 'millions of spins' etc. most players in their lifetime play simply don't pull enough balls out to hit the Hollywood pays. Simples.
Two great examples being
@ChopleyIOM 's getting 800x plus on his first visit to Bonanza and of course the infamous TFC 5600x first visit. He pulled those balls early so will forever be ahead of the TRTP having quit afterwards.
I mean, NLC even tell you in their game rules your chance of hitting their slot's top-pay jackpot of say 66,666x in a standard spin is 1/113,246,758 for example. So think about it - when I work out that over 10 years of relatively intense play on Bonanza that I have had somewhere between 1-2 million spins, if I played the NLC game to the same extent it would be 50-100/1 AGAINST me ever doing it. So if someone else does it within say 100,000 spins, yes they're a spawny twat, that's all. Nothing sinister about me NOT doing it!
