Netspend double charge

What IF Netspend does not fix the double charge what are you supposed to do fight it, How? And I am wondering if they can really do anything if you don't pay what you obviously don't owe because of their double charging because who will they complain to? Won't they get in trouble for making illegal transactions? And can they report to credit bureaus? Just curious.

Just got off the phone reaming out Netspend. They said that the de-card charge was an international charge and therefore would be held 7 days. Now if that's not a crock. They never hold QT charges or CW or Villento. I think they just pick and choose what they want to aggravate me with.

I am done with them.

They fixed my card and took the double charge off just like you said anniemac. I don't understand de card though I thought that was a separate card than Netspend? Why are you being charged by Netspend for a de card transaction? Unless you funded de card with your Netspend card? Forgive me but I don't have a de card so I don't know how it works. Looks like Netspend is acting very peculiar or at best their transaction dealings are getting way out of control and have me wondering if the sky is going to fall on ALL the not so many US deposit options soon, ending all our online gambling fun! :axeman:

De-card is a virtual card offered by Club World and Slots Oasis and some other RTG's. I'm sorry, I should have explained better. You fund the de-card with your Netspend or whatever and then fund your casino account. But if Netspend is going to hold the charges for them then it's not any better than using your regular card.

de-card

Tried out the de-card to deposit at Slots Oasis. Worked great EXCEPT Netspend has now double charged my card like they do for actual casino charges. I am now several hundred dollars overdrawn. I have had it with them. I am cutting up my cards. This is total BS.

Just be warned.

Same thing happened to me with decard. No point at all in using. I only used to avoid the double rushmore charges. I'd rather just use netspend. Sometimes you are charged double, sometimes you are not. Decard defeats the purpose.

Don't understand why all these double dips are showing up now. Until now I have NEVER been double charged for any transaction w/NETspend.

Haven't used my card in a while, used QT to make deposits every now and then. Emptied that up, so I loaded my card and used it to make 2 deposits, 1 at Club World and 1 at a Rival -- I deposited at one one day, and the other on the next day (I like 100% bonuses if they're reasonable). The Rival is still showing as pending, and the Club World is in there twice, once for $49, once for $48.99.

So do I just wait? How do you tell them that a $49 charge and a $48.99 charge are the same thing?? And to me, that shows it's the casino processor doing the double dipping, not NETSpend.

What a mess US players are in, and what nonsense we have to put up with if we play!

I agree, US citizens are being screwed! I don't see it getting any better unless the law changes. This is what I really don't understand and I addressed this in another post, how do you fight double charges IF Netspend or any other processor does NOT want to fix them? We really have no recourse. And why, when the casinos KNOW the situation we Americans are in, WHY would they let the transactions SHOW as a casino name transaction? It is pretty hard to explain to Netspend or anyone else who the merchant is when it says Inetbet.com or any other casino name. HELLOOO???

double charged at N/T

I too was double charged this week at N/T - deposited twice this week and they kept the deposit saying I had charges pending (2) and a negative balance - tried to explain that I could not go over this is a debit card - no defense on my part - they kept my last deposit

adedpoet,

Netspend knows exactly what they are doing. Now as to why, I don't know. In my case, there is no money to use. My card is in the negative because of the double charges and I don't intend to do anything about it. According to them, all will be cleared up on 01/03 when the pending charges fall off. We will see. But my option is to say 'screw you' and not use them anymore and I am.

I am sick and tired of 'Big Brother' telling me what I can do. The financial situation in the US is beyond ridiculous and now they are doing their best to regulate where I spend my money. Crap, I don't want to get on my soap box about all this mess. I sincerely hope that Pres. Elect Obama has an answer to all this mess. If he does, he needs to be given wings and a halo. :D

I am not American and don't have NETSpend, sometimes I use prepaid gift MC and also was double charged by Rushmore and Jackpot Capital.

This week I made a deposit on CR ( did not know i was double charged though), then trying to deposit on SO and the transaction was declined. :eek2:

Other casinos were Ok.

Go figure....

Netspend BS

The charge I made to Rushmore last week fell off and the three charges to de-card fell off today. Just be prepared to wait 7 days for them to fall off of pending.

Hi Anniemac
You seem to know alot about Netspend......I never paid too much attn to tis thread since I never had any problem.
Now lastnight I made a deposit looking forward to playing......To my frigging surprise I was told (after the deposit) that I had a negative balance GEESH!
My question is Hoow the hell can one have a negative balance on a debit card? It baffles me.....I ask you cause you seem to have run the gauntlet with them and may have had the answer You may ask why don't I call them? I cannot speak to idiots LOL
tHANKS IN ADVANCE FOR ANY INFO

yes this will happen time and time again. it has happened to me a lot. i go load my card and try to play when i get home only to find out that i have pending charges. it will and does clear up but all you can do is wait it out. once it clears your neg balance is completely cleared and your funds are available to you. its a bummer because you cant play and you had no idea you would have to wait for the funds.

Please excuse me if I said this already.

As I read it, they hold amounts $100 and over longer than amounts less than $100. Since this seems to be a common occurance, not just with Netspend but other wallets, I would suggest you deposit $95 instead of $100, so if they do double charge, the charge will drop off in 7 days instead of 30.

Still a huge pain, but I realize that given the American government and the banking industry's stance on online gambling, these companies have you over a barrel, and you have little choice.

At the same time, casino's have no hope on collecting on bad debts, given that it is an illegal activity for American residents, so I understand why this may be becoming standard policy.

These companies have a reasonable excuse to hold an amount of funds that earn them interest, which probably more than compensates them for any losses incurred.

Gas prices are down, the Bricks and Mortars are looking better and better. The government (mine included) makes huge sums from these, why would they refrain from stifflying the competition?

Just a follow up... The $49 double charged when I deposited at Club World has 'fell off'... just disappeared... took about... what? ... 9 days?.... sheesh...

Jasminebed,

It's not the webwallets or processors that are holding charges. It is Netspend themselves. When I called them about holding the de-card deposits, I was told it was because it was an international charge and that was Netspend's policy to hold transaction in pending even though it has actually cleared the bank. So, it's not the webwallets or whatever worrying about whether they get paid or not, it is Netspend.

Wow, I am hearing all these horror stories about Netspend and it doesn't sound good. I have had netspend since 2006 and only had one problem two years ago. I deposited a Blackjack Ballroom, and they said the deposit was declined. I checked my netspend and it showed cleared. After numerous contacts with Blackjack Ballroom and Netspend, Netspend returned the money after Blackjack Ballroom requested a reversal.

They said it was the Card Processor company that messed up.

After that I have never had any more problems, and I deposit quite a few times per month. I only deposit what I am going to play within the next few days. The place I load my netspend is only one block away around the corner so it only takes about five minutes.

I only deposit at two or three casino's for a certain length of time, and never over $50.

I hope my luck continues.
