Netent - can't win on Gonzo's Quest

No one was moaning.

Merely questioning a statement. As all the so called experts say that it makes no difference what casino you are playing at and how many people are playing.

And you have stated the exact opposite.

you're right, i wasnt focussed! The other post was from goatwack written in italic and I didn't catch it. Sorry @paul7388 !
Bottom line, what @bamberfishcake said. The RTP within the RNG hits after a x volume of game rounds. Fewer people go go slower to gamerounds compared to a lot of people. Long term for any individual player it wont matter. Short term it can affect the win or loss rate.

See i am no expert so could be completely wrong.

I know RTP hits over billions of rounds or whatever.

But we are always told it should not matter how many spins have been played as even if only 1 spin and player had hit jackpot then 2nd spin theoretically could hit huge win.

So if that is true then volume played in short term should make no difference.
If a game has only been ever spin 5 times surely a player has a chance of a huge win same as if a million spins are getting played on it.

We love your input @L&L-Jan

This has been my thought since the bag of marbles discussion with @dionysus

If a slot hits max win once in 10 billion spins, then it should hit max win twice in 20 billion yes?

So, volume and number of players does matter. Makes sense.
But as has been said. It could hit max win 5 times in 10 billion spins and not again in next 40 billion spins

But as has been said. It could hit max win 5 times in 10 billion spins and not again in next 40 billion spins

So based on that logic, Nolimit City games are not worth playing after the first week because they always hit max win? :P

They're definitely not random on every single spin, if they were, none would make it through testing.

Does it matter . More important things in life to ponder over.

Like Chinese or fish supper for dinner.
And if Chinese King prawn fried rice or chicken curry.

I tell you it is so hard In.life to make right choices. I know if I get Chinese I will wish I had got fish supper. And if fish supper vice versa.

Ive seen once a hit on DOA, 1.80 bet - 4.5k win. Customer goes back to basegame, 4 spins in and got feature. Feature paid out 3.6k on the same bet. It is random, just the next customers have to wait a bit for that 2000x+ hit.

If my play gets worse because someone else has been lucky before me, that does not sound like random.
That sounds like its compensated and need to collect the money it just paid out before being able to pay out new big hits.

Maybe im misunderstanding.
You've missed the point:

Chinese or fish supper for dinner?
And if Chinese King prawn fried rice or chicken curry?

Then we can get back to the more trivial stuff.

@Eliot85 what you need to keep in mind is that prior before regulations you were playing among all players across the world. Since the market regulated all casinos have been given a new module to redirect all Swedish players to.

Imagine you were a poker pro on PokerStars and the regulations would say that you can only play to players from Sweden. You can quit your job or move abroad as its unsustainable. I would say the same applies for trying to push a slot. I'm also not sure where you play but if its a smaller outfit, the bigger wins take more to appear.

As for playing unregulated, I wouldnt advice to do so.

Good comment, seeing as you're around and there are others commenting - does anyone know how the RNG systems work - by that I mean - does each game have its own RNG or is it per provider, territory, casino?

For example, if I play Gonzo's Quest am I using the same RNG as Gonzo's Quest Megaways?

What Jan is alluding to is:

Each game has millions (or more) possible outcomes. Now if each of those outcomes were a ball from a bag that someone picked on each bet - doing this by yourself could end up being expensive..

When there are other players pulling from the same bag, the likelihood of someone landing a big win is more likely. Even though the slot will conform to the RTP long term, the lower the amount of plays, the less we will see it dish out hits from its large set of probabilities.

For those Bonanza conspiracy theorists - think about it. Once upon a time only NextGen ran the game. The game was later diluted onto other platforms like MG and Relax Gaming...

The fork i used looks very similar to the one in the picture.
Im guessing the pie was somewhat close in terms of flavor, but it had a more...uh... rustic, homemade look. ?
It was the background that may have given it away, the slice of lime in the drink etc. Very cosmopolitan :)

I do like a good pie and that looks right up my street. Best pie i ever had was a chicken and chorizo pie, am yet to try and recreate it, is on my cooking bucket list.

But.. but... we're told that you can draw the same ball 5 times in a row because that's what random is.

And my win or loss shouldn't make a difference for another player because that's how compensated works.

Isn't that how it works @trancemonkey @Halvor ?

Keep going lads, keep going....

The lid is loose but I want it BLOWN off!!!!!

*The Lid on this dirty corrupt industry, no innuendo intended at all, far too tired for any of that malarkey! :o

Knew I'd be around when I was finally proven right. These slots are nothing more than glorified arcade machines,

Absolutely nothing Nate wrote said anything that slightly indicated that players influence each other?

He did however touch on a very real thing that the lower the play sample, the more likely we are to see outliners when it comes to stats... in whatever direction. Sample size would be the key word here.

How about what Jan said? Those posts clearly indicate players influence eachother if you ask me and some others in this topic.

No it does not. He says that the RTP fluctuates based on sample size. The less the sample the bigger the potential fluctuation in any direction. The bigger the sample size, the more true to the expected return/hit rate/max win it will be.

I'm also not sure where you play but if its a smaller outfit, the bigger wins take more to appear.

Well... This one tends to make me think towards the fact a pot needs to be filled for certain random results to come into play.

If you play at a smaller casino it takes longer before bigger wins appear? That doesn't sound random to me.

Maybe the post was worded poorly but it made me, and others in here as you can see, go hmmmmm...

Quite frankly - and I do rate Jan highly as a industry person - if he honestly think the size of the outfit, how lucky player A was before player B started spinning or whatnot.. He's incorrect. I assume its badly worded.

Take the Battle of Slots for example.

If there were 10 players doing 100 spins each on DOA and 1000 players doing 100 spins each.

Which sample would give you a broader outcome?

If both groups are spinning simultaneously there's 1010 players hitting the same RNG at the same time and the fact you're in the group of 10 or 1000 shouldn't matter. Sure, if both groups are separated the group of 1000 statistically has a bigger chance of hitting big because of the amount of spins.

But that's not the issue: Jan was saying that it matters where you are (he mentioned a Swedish module for that particular market) and that at a smaller casino the chance of hitting big is harder because "big wins take more to appear". Which might be worded poorly and I'm not the only one who's very curious what that exactly means.

what you need to keep in mind is that prior before regulations you were playing among all players across the world. Since the market regulated all casinos have been given a new module to redirect all Swedish players to.

That statement above from Jan in the context it was used is implying a player won more because they were in a different market. Clearly stating that the player had a better chance to win as he was playing the Slot on a different market and more players played there. Meaning now that the Market in Sweden has changed the player has less chance of hitting big as less players.

It is not stating that obviously with less players playing there will be less big wins posted at a casino compared to a casino with a million players. It is clearly saying that the player himself has less chance of hitting the win at that casino than he would at another casino with more players as less money went through slot at his casino. That would come across as compensated. As you have said a thousand times before it makes no difference when, where, or how many players are playing to your chances of hitting a big win as every spin is seperate and random.

Now without mixing things. If a normal member had posted the statement you would have basically told them they were talking rubbish and never had a clue what they were on about. Instead you have turned what Jan said and made it out that he was meaning something different.

So my understanding is that, not so long ago, slots were tested over millions of spins and ran on fewer modules.

Today, they are tested over billions and run on more modules.

Therefore, players feeling of slots are gimped compared to what they used to be is based on fact, not fiction, and a true feeling.

So, it does matter where you play and on what module. And online slots are not as random as we are led to believe. Your location, game (in terms of popularity) and the online casino will affect your chances.

The stories of consortiums of players being banned for trying to affect the RTP of a particular game is also based on fact.

No wonder players in the Bonanza thread switch sites and aggregators. It seems there is truth in that also.

Before - millions of spins, fewer modules, most at max RTP.

Today - trillions of spins, more modules splitting the players and lower RTP.

If a slot does'nt pay, what really urges you to continue playing? Most casino's have 400+ games in their offerings and you have to stick with the one slot not doing jack shit?

Hej Jan. I play on mga casino with no licens :)

But i thought all games were supposed to be Random and it did not matter how many people played a slot.

But you are basically telling him if he is playing at a smaller outfit it takes longer to hit the win compared to if he was playing at a larger outfit. Surely should make no difference what casino he is playing at if game takes result from provider.
All wins over 20k euros have i won on smaller casino.. So i dont know is what he is saying can be so.. but ho knows

I also heard that Netent games were particularly vulnerable to this - Consortiums swamping the same game on the highest permissable bonus money stake at the same Casino to force a big win then splitting the winnings. That’s as much as I know though.
