But.. but... we're told that you can draw the same ball 5 times in a row because that's what random is.

And my win or loss shouldn't make a difference for another player because that's how compensated works.

Isn't that how it works @trancemonkey @Halvor ?
Absolutely nothing Nate wrote said anything that slightly indicated that players influence each other?

He did however touch on a very real thing that the lower the play sample, the more likely we are to see outliners when it comes to stats... in whatever direction. Sample size would be the key word here.

How about what Jan said? Those posts clearly indicate players influence eachother if you ask me and some others in this topic.

No it does not. He says that the RTP fluctuates based on sample size. The less the sample the bigger the potential fluctuation in any direction. The bigger the sample size, the more true to the expected return/hit rate/max win it will be.

I'm also not sure where you play but if its a smaller outfit, the bigger wins take more to appear.

Well... This one tends to make me think towards the fact a pot needs to be filled for certain random results to come into play.

If you play at a smaller casino it takes longer before bigger wins appear? That doesn't sound random to me.

Maybe the post was worded poorly but it made me, and others in here as you can see, go hmmmmm...

Quite frankly - and I do rate Jan highly as a industry person - if he honestly think the size of the outfit, how lucky player A was before player B started spinning or whatnot.. He's incorrect. I assume its badly worded.

Take the Battle of Slots for example.

If there were 10 players doing 100 spins each on DOA and 1000 players doing 100 spins each.

Which sample would give you a broader outcome?

If both groups are spinning simultaneously there's 1010 players hitting the same RNG at the same time and the fact you're in the group of 10 or 1000 shouldn't matter. Sure, if both groups are separated the group of 1000 statistically has a bigger chance of hitting big because of the amount of spins.

But that's not the issue: Jan was saying that it matters where you are (he mentioned a Swedish module for that particular market) and that at a smaller casino the chance of hitting big is harder because "big wins take more to appear". Which might be worded poorly and I'm not the only one who's very curious what that exactly means.

what you need to keep in mind is that prior before regulations you were playing among all players across the world. Since the market regulated all casinos have been given a new module to redirect all Swedish players to.

That statement above from Jan in the context it was used is implying a player won more because they were in a different market. Clearly stating that the player had a better chance to win as he was playing the Slot on a different market and more players played there. Meaning now that the Market in Sweden has changed the player has less chance of hitting big as less players.

It is not stating that obviously with less players playing there will be less big wins posted at a casino compared to a casino with a million players. It is clearly saying that the player himself has less chance of hitting the win at that casino than he would at another casino with more players as less money went through slot at his casino. That would come across as compensated. As you have said a thousand times before it makes no difference when, where, or how many players are playing to your chances of hitting a big win as every spin is seperate and random.

Now without mixing things. If a normal member had posted the statement you would have basically told them they were talking rubbish and never had a clue what they were on about. Instead you have turned what Jan said and made it out that he was meaning something different.

So my understanding is that, not so long ago, slots were tested over millions of spins and ran on fewer modules.

Today, they are tested over billions and run on more modules.

Therefore, players feeling of slots are gimped compared to what they used to be is based on fact, not fiction, and a true feeling.

So, it does matter where you play and on what module. And online slots are not as random as we are led to believe. Your location, game (in terms of popularity) and the online casino will affect your chances.

The stories of consortiums of players being banned for trying to affect the RTP of a particular game is also based on fact.

No wonder players in the Bonanza thread switch sites and aggregators. It seems there is truth in that also.

Before - millions of spins, fewer modules, most at max RTP.

Today - trillions of spins, more modules splitting the players and lower RTP.

If a slot does'nt pay, what really urges you to continue playing? Most casino's have 400+ games in their offerings and you have to stick with the one slot not doing jack shit?

Imagine you were a poker pro on PokerStars and the regulations would say that you can only play to players from Sweden. You can quit your job or move abroad as its unsustainable. I would say the same applies for trying to push a slot. I'm also not sure where you play but if its a smaller outfit, the bigger wins take more to appear.

As for playing unregulated, I wouldnt advice to do so.
Hej Jan. I play on mga casino with no licens :)

But i thought all games were supposed to be Random and it did not matter how many people played a slot.

But you are basically telling him if he is playing at a smaller outfit it takes longer to hit the win compared to if he was playing at a larger outfit. Surely should make no difference what casino he is playing at if game takes result from provider.
All wins over 20k euros have i won on smaller casino.. So i dont know is what he is saying can be so.. but ho knows

I also heard that Netent games were particularly vulnerable to this - Consortiums swamping the same game on the highest permissable bonus money stake at the same Casino to force a big win then splitting the winnings. That’s as much as I know though.
