You remember those spiders in Pakistan after the floods last year? They took to the trees and absolutely covered them with webs - someone just sent me this, the same thing is happening in Australia. These photos kinda make my skin crawl, but it's pretty amazing to see - especially since it's so far away from me.

so these webs aren't really webs per se - it's the silk the spiders spin when they're 'ballooning' which is different. When they're ballooning, the spider does one strand of silk and then lets the wind carry them off to somewhere better - like a mountain climber rappelling down a mountain.
