MG Tournament - I know - what a joke!

Just tried the MG tournament for ThunderStruck. Since I got a new computer i do not want the casino software to mess up my whole machine wo I run the whole thing from virtual pc.

However this for some reason has a bad effect. I started the tournament hitting spin all I could - but when the timer was out I still had 1200 credits left... Man theese wheels spin slow! (I did have a freespin aswell, however even without the freespins I still would have had credits left since 1200 / 45 = 26,6 spins).

I'm pretty sure this wouldn't happend if I didn't run it in virtual pc, but I guess alot of people with slow computers would experience the same. What a joke!

I guess this is an old thread - however strangely MG never fixed this? Why one cannot enable quickspin in tournament seems realy odd to me!

Well, no reason to do tournaments in MG then - as I am sticking to Virtual PC for theese installs.

Thunderstruck is the only slot where I cannot finish all the tourney credits on. Even with free spins, I had them all done for Tomb Raider, Avalon and Loaded.

Avalon is the one I usually have more leftover money on, when you get free spins it seems to go even slower than when you're playing for real. You can click the screen to stop the countup but if you've got more than one winning line you gotta go through the three times flashing thing on each line.....even the congratulations screen seems to come up slowly.

With Thunderstruck even if I get free spins I usually don't end up with much left over - probably cause I don't ever win anything during free spins so there's nothing to count and slow it down?

Ahh... That was nice! Just jumped into the Avalon tournament!

Starting balance 10.000... And how slow! The casino crashed and I had to restart, when I restarted and finnished I had 7800 coins left...

I could pay to get more playing time, another 3 minutes and 6000 coins! Seriously - I already have 7800 coins left!!!! I thought I was done with the MG tournaments - but now I am for sure! What a goof! What a goof!

I run broadband and a new computer

The MG tourney reels sometimes take forever, Its hard for me to pay to play one, I only do free ones. I know when I regular spin a slot its fast.

I think its the software.

Recently, I have been booted out of the casino on several occasions during these tourneys and had to re-enter the casino. Anyone else having such probs or is it just my PC/connection?

It's not the software or your PC connection, it is MG's servers that cause this lag time and MG has know about this issue for quite sometime now and still has done nothing to try and correct it.

MG have no intention of "correcting it", it was MG that reprogrammed the software to ADD the lag in the first place. For the first few months of tournaments, this lag did not exist, and with a top notch PC and connection, it was possible to spin like crazy. A lag of up to 6 seconds has been programmed into the software in the form of a conditionally executed piece of code. The trigger seems to be strongly related to the interval between two prior spins, and weakly related to the spins just prior to this pair. Often, it is a series of naked spins in the bonus round that triggers the lag, and when triggered it can be seen in operation because the little "lights" near the credit box start cycling, indicating the software is in a waiting state for a reply from the server.
IF the lag is triggered outside of a free spins round, there is another sign, and this is that the cost of the spin is not deducted from the coin box UNTIL the waiting state is over and the result arrives. This is completely opposite to what happens during normal casino play, where the loss/delay is GENUINE, and not "forced", and the cost is immediately deducted, but the reels never stop spinning, and reconnection either shows the end result, or refunds the deducted cost.
This is just shoddy programming, and leaves evidence as to what is really going on, rather than what MG would like you to THINK is going on (blaming your PC and ISP instead of MG and their servers).
The same approach lead to the discovery that they were taking shortcuts in the VP double game, and that the results of a game were determined often at a stage BEFORE the player had actually made a choice which should have been what determined the outcome. This has lead to the view that many events are predetermined, and not randomly calculated at the time the player makes their choices, and has further brought into question the card games, as well as slots bonus rounds.
