November 22, 2006 Kahnawake, Canada A player at All Slots Casino (www.allslots.com), a proud member of the Jackpot Factory Group and one of the worlds biggest online casinos known for its wealth of progressive jackpots, has done the unbelievable: back-to-back wins on the Major Millions progressive slot game. Leah A. won two jackpots last night within three hours of each other for an astounding $682,822.30 in winnings, online casino officials confirmed.

All Slots Casino officials stated that the mind-boggling feat happened when the player logged into the casino last night and won her first progressive jackpot for a gigantic $432,179.90. Then, with Major Millions' progressive jackpot reset to the $250,000 starting point, she continued to ride her lucky streak, and after the jackpot climbed a mere $642.40, she pocketed her second jackpot again all in an evenings work...

Well I guess I won't be playing MM anytime soon - sheesh!! :what:

the odds?
According to SlotCharts it hits on average every 577 hours, so to hit after 3 hours is 192:1 against.

But what are the odds of the same player hitting it...?

God I'm sooooooo jealous - and I don't even play MM!
(It's way above my budget! )

Actually, the odds of the slot hitting twice in the same day is the exact same as only hitting it once...same for the same player hitting it

Split many hairs recently? :p

OK, what's the probability of it happening? ;)

What we really want to know is if it cured her athlete's foot, anorexia, asthma or arthritis.

Gaaaaaahhhh... Thanks for the depressing news. :p I've been gambling online for four years or so. I have never hit a progressive. I have never even hit one of those damned random jackpots at InterCasino or RTG casinos.

I want my turn!!

I hope nice Ms. Leah uses the money wisely and put me in her will. :D

Two things...

One: Fecking unbelieveable!!!!!! Well played!

Two: I can't BELIEVE she carried on playing after the first!!! I'd be wasted on champagne, dancing round the room/house/street - possibly naked.

A dream. Shame it was a slutpot factory who'll get all the good press!

Well played Leah A - you're my new hero! :notworthy

Pleeeeease don't post a screenshot of THAT!!!

Not So

To get the probability of an event happening twice, one has to multiply the probabilities together.

For example, to toss a coin and get heads is a probability of 0.5

To get heads twice is a probability of 0.5x0.5 or 0.25

The ODDS on each of the two tosses remains at 0.5 of getting heads.

The probability of getting the progressive on any one spin, or any number of spins, is the same, however the probability of the same player hitting it twice is the square of the probability of the player hitting it once over a given set of circumstances, such as a session of play, or x hours of play.

I wonder if the thoughts running through her mind went something like this:
(after second win)

"I can't believe it - AGAIN!! How could I be so lucky..it surely can't happen a THIRD time and I should be grateful for this..I should cash out now and just stop altogether - I really don't need to keep on anymore now!! [goes to click on the BANK button] ...well, just a few more spins..who knows?? It happened a second time it might happen a third!! I have plenty of money there..what the heck. A few hours later...maybe its ALL the progressives in this casino...I'll give it a shot, it must be my lucky day"

and so on, and so on... :D

[MY DISCLAIMER]
Just a hypothetical scenario...congrats to her, hopefully she made wise decisions ;)

Most people play the win amount down to an even number.

Could be pennies, could be a few thousand, depending on the win.

Actually, not quite true. Every spin on a progressive automatically contributes to the jackpot total, shared across all participating casinos. The jackpots are managed by a third-party provider, and an operator does not have to "pay" the provider when a jackpot is hit.

In other words, hitting a jackpot at a casino won't break the bank - if anything, the operator will be overjoyed for the additional attention :)

That's what I meant, but it got lost in translation on the way to my fingers from my brain lol :D

Progressive jackpots are coveted by casino operators since many of these jackpot winners play a portion of their winnings back into the casino.

They want you to win :D ;)
