    Press release:

    Valletta April 24, 2015:

€2,633,052 ARABIAN NIGHTS JACKPOT WON AT GUTS.COM

At 3:47am on the 23rd of April, most people in Sweden were sleeping. However, one person was busy becoming Guts.com's first ever millionaire and with a click of the spin button she won the Arabian Nights jackpot worth €2,633,036.

The team at Guts woke up to the great news and could not wait to call Monica to congratulate her on the massive win, but Monica’s initial reaction was not what Guts was expecting. It seems that Monica, playing in the early morning hours, saw the five wild symbols lined up and thought she had won something. Yet, she did not realize the immensity of her win, so she continued to play some more spins and then went to bed. Little did she know that she had just become a millionaire. Sufficive to say, her initial reaction to the news was in the lines of: “I can’t believe it, you are kidding me, right? And finally when the news started to sink in: “I think I may faint!” After a little more convincing that she actually won the jackpot, Monica shouted out “this is so crazy!” and the celebrations begun.

Robin Reed, Managing Director of Guts.com comments "This is truly a remarkable day. We love to celebrate winners at Guts and this is the largest win we have ever had the pleasure of celebrating. We are so happy for Monica, who has been playing at Guts since the start and we look forward to making more millionaires in the future. Well done, Monica!"

We had to ask what Monica would be doing with the winnings, to which she replied "I will pay off my mortgage, help out my children and my grandchildren, donate some money to charity and then enjoy a little travelling with my family."

Arabian Nights is one of 29 progressive jackpots on offer at Guts.com.

Now as Netbent are Scandinavian games they are played funnily enough by lots of Scandinavians. When the Netbent jackpots go, it's usually therefore a Scandinavian winner. So some people think that the random jackpots only go to people with IP's from Norway for example.

They enjoy thier gambling just as much as the Brits, Irish, Yanks, Canadians and Aussies. I wouldn't go as far as to say that they are "totally addicted" (help me out here Tirilej lol). But they have a reputation for having a love of gambling. I remember when online poker was starting out....Scandanavians were a big contributor to it's success and growth.

Not more addicted than people anywhere else, but maybe we have been early on learning all kind of computers and gaming, and it has become a lifestyle.

We play more NetEnt, and obviously those Jackpots more or we wouldn't win them so much.

I normally says it's because we are so cute and lovely but not everyone is buying that :p

The HUGE thing with this winner is that it was a woman. Who care from what country she's from.
    She was a woman!!!:notworthy:notworthy:notworthy

I think it could be a lot of advertising coupled with the climate. I think they have extra long and harsh winters.

Majority of people don't shop around for internet casinos, but they go for big established brands, one they feel safe and comfortable with.

Majority of large British and Irish bookmakers either don't have NetEnt, or they have some NetEnt slots but they don't have large NetEnt progressives.

Some that actually have them, like bet365, don't give them any extra visibility on their web page, NetEnt progressives are just like any other NetEnt game in their Vegas section. I've never received any "Hall of Gods jackpot is now over 7 million euros" type of marketing e-mails from them.

Whereas on more Nordic heavy casinos, the large NetEnt jackpots are very visible, often they have their own side bar on the main casino page. Also Nordic heavy casinos send pretty much always e-mails advertising large jackpots.

NetEnt is Swedish company. Many NetEnt casinos are run and owned by Swedes, this makes Swedish players more likely to go for those casinos, just like British and Irish players are more likely to go for major British and Irish bookmakers, who don't offer NetEnt jackpots but usually Playtech ones.

From it's early July 2014 release to early January 2015, Mega Fortune Dreams was only availabe at casinos of 3 casino groups, Betsson Malta Ltd, Unibet Group Plc and Paf Casino. This kinda indicates who are the NetEnt's 3 largest customers are, no British bookmakers in that group. Majority of Finnish NetEnt winners have won their jackpots on Paf. Paf is based in Åland, autonomous region of Finland and they are familiar to Finns from sea-based activities at cruise ships. Paf offers only NetEnt jackpots.

So it's fault of British and Irish bookmakers that Nordic countries and Benelux steal almost all NetEnt progressives and leave nothing to poor British Isles. :(

why you making a big deal about her being a woman? this isn't a man vs woman competition now is it about which gender wins more jackpots?
or is sweden pushing the gender divide/gender war, by claiming a gender gap in slot jackpots now and poor victimised swedish women need to win more jackpots now do they. oh no mysoggy knee.
