Hi.
I had a problem at a casino. It is probaly my fault but at the same time probally not.
I was playing Black jack freeroll. When the ten hands were finished I thought there was another level to play , so I clicked the" Play Single Player " Button. Thinking it was another free play blackjack i played a $50 Bet. I lost so I played another $50 Bet. but This time it said I didn't have enough money. Thats when i realized that I was playing with real money.

Now I know that the casino probally won't give me my money back but I do think they should. There was no warning that you are going out of free play and into the real money. This was also the first time I played the black jack. I looked at the free roll slots same thing there no warning that you are going into real money.
I just think its misleading.
Here is the screen shot in Black jack.
Any Ideas. Probally my loss. But I just thought I would ask for my money back or my deposte I am waiting for results.

Yes I know. I should of explained it. I was in real money. I went and played a free roll tournament. Than I went to play the single player think I was still in free roll . Thanks

Lesson learned...comp points earned ;)

You won't get your money back though.

..but you might be able hear them laughing when they read your email, if you listen carefully.

I know my lessoned learned but don't you think there should be somekind of print warning you.

Typical casino warnings:

'Are you sure you want to exit?'
'Are you sure you want to withdraw?'
'You are in play money mode. Wouldn't you rather play for real money'

etc....

You'll NEVER see 'Are you sure you want to make that bet?'

I wasn't in play money mode. I was playing slots in real mode I just wanted to play one of microgaming free roll tounaments.
After you have finished you do have a choice in slots to play 3 times more by puting real money in. But in Black jack its diffrent. Any ways there is no warning.

After the first hand in Real Money didn't you notice that your Real Money balance decreased? :what:

Only after I bet again and I didn't have enough money. Than I noticed I was Playing for real. It was a good thing I didn't have $100's

@zbrent

I am sure Roanan has understood everything. I think that everyone who reads the thread understands.

Its you who misunderstand Roanan.

There two modes:

*Real money mode (you play and can win real money)
*Play money mode (you play for fun and cant win real money)

All tournaments are in the real money mode. This is why we all understand what happened to you.

When the tournament was over you clicked on "play single player" and thought it was another round in the tournament.

Then you continued with 50$ bet and lost your own money.

Link Removed ( Old/Invalid)

Its annoying enough when you by mistake click on "bet max" on slots.

There is no mistake by Microgaming that all these things happen.

The casinos offer free tournaments for a reason. You might find it interesting to continue play with your own money.

However, you made the mistake! I can really not see why the casino would give money back.

Single player means something that is NOT several players as in a tournament.

I know I probally won't get my money back. I will try and see.
I am just saying that there should be somekind of warning that you are going back into your real account before you start clicking. And by clicking max bet in slots is totaling different its says that you are clicking max bet. Not a blank button.
The" play in single mode" has no warning. Its just the first time I played in black jack so it won't happen again. Only for new people maybe it could happen. Also with to much beer.

I agree with you zbrent. When the blackjack tourney is over it doesn't take you back to the screen that says you finished in so and so place it leaves you in blackjack mode and allowing you to think that you are still in the tourney.

I almost made that mistake but luckily didn't have enough money in my account and that's the only way that I knew the tourney was over. It is designed this way and the members here know what you are talking about.

I also "fell" for this, but due to lack of funds, I was unable to bet

Makes me feel a little better that I'm not the only one. I only lost $50 good thing I didn't have more. If this is an intentional trap than something should be changed at these casino's to warn you that you are using your own funds.

I can only agree with you, its very confusing, especially for new players.
The button should say 'play for real' or something like that, not single player.

But no chance on a refund I'm afraid, the casino will say that you could have won the hand.. :(

I would keep asking the casino about it. The OP in the other thread, this was a new "feature" when she did it. And the casino did credit her account (hope trade doesn't mind me sharing). She had a long standing history of NOT playing BJ at the casino.

If you have some history with this casino, do not usually play blackjack, and this was the first blackjack tournament you ever played, I would hope they would at least offer you some kind of bonus as a consolation.

And if nothing else, you have my thanks for bringing this matter back up for the unaware.

Thanks, I'll keep trying but you know casino's. This was the first at any kind of blackjack, and I have played at this casino a longtime.

Well, at least you've learned your lesson for not so much.
I remember that when I only started paying online, I accidentally pressed "Spin" button after logging in Real Money Mode at 888.com
I had $140 on my account, and bet it all. It costed me $70, because I won $70 back. To date it is the biggest bet I ever made! :D
But the moral of the story is: always look closely on what are you betting :D

This would be an easy fix for MG - if they want to keep the button on the tourney page then they should change the text from "Play Single Player" to "Play this Game for Real" or something like that.

To the OP, I can sympathise - I've never played a free tournament with my own money ;) but I've hit the max bet button by mistake (at 3Dice...$15 of my measly $20 gone) and it sucks. Would have been sweet to have hit something good there but alas....

Anyhow...unfortunately you're probably SOL, but I agree, that 'single player' button is a little unclear - it wouldn't hurt to contact the casino and tell them what happened, they might comp you. Good luck.
