Hi all,

I have been playing a little level up video poker with play money and was wondering if there are any experienced players who could answer a question..

I have had a lot of experience with single hand JoB DDB etc but how does the variance compare with level up poker?

Also, Do i change the optimum strategy for single hand poker - ie: do i go for the most likely hand at the lower levels every time to give me more chance to get up to the x4 and x8 more often?

Thanks,

Matt

I don't play VP very often, but I'm 99% sure that is the right strategy. It's what I always do anyway!

I am playing level-up VP very often (on MG casinos).

During the years, I hit 3 royals, 2 of them on second level (X2) and one on third (x4). Never hit a royal on fourth.

Usually I keep my usual ultra-conservative strategy, even more than on regular singe hand VP, since whatever winning combination on fourth level is paid 8X and so even a pair / two pairs/ three of a kind becomes quite a good win.

I play level up quite often online, and Multi-Strike all the time in the B&Ms (and Spin Poker). :D You're right - you hold for the best chance to get to the next level. That's where the big payouts come from.
