Leo Vegas fined £627,000 for misleading ads and not protecting vulnerable customers.

LeoVegas did not "take all reasonable steps" to stop problem gamblers who had asked to be banned from its websites.

Will they never learn....?

  • 41 website advertisements by them or their affiliates misled consumers by failing to include significant offer limitations or by failing to present those limitations clearly enough. This is a breach of social responsibility code provisions 5.1.7(2) and 5.1.7(2)(a), and 1.1.2
Good, its not like they weren't told about them.

Still plenty of affiliates out there not following ASA guidelines for including significant terms unless there isn't space. Big affiliates too, but then I suppose the fines don't come close to the extra business these are bringing in.

Leovegas Bad Boys Edition

I love them as they came up years ago to the online casinos the first 2 Years it was one of my fav. casinos but now a days its </3

The Commission identified that LeoVegas or its affiliates published 41 website advertisements between April 2017 and January 2018, and of these:
  • 31 failed to state significant limitations and qualifications relating to promotions, despite there being space to do so (eight on its own website and 23 on affiliates’)
  • 10 misled consumers, as the information needed to make an informed decision was presented in an unclear manner
Would appear from looking at the press release, the word free was the main issue on affiliate sites. Can see why affiliate managers were so keen to get rid of free spins and free bet from sites.

With LeoVegas being fined today, I expect all affiliates to receive another round of e-mails asking them to double check wording.
