Well... give them 48h to respond before you raise the matter to a public forum. Ladbrokes is a solid operation so you won't have any problems. Because of the easter things in Britain are a bit slow down so that might have affected their response time. At any rate I hope that your case is legit since Israel is famous for scandalous scams.

I have seen this when researching the "pound edge" fiasco.

The casinos who offer multiple currencies offer bonuses in the currency you deposited. In your case, you deposited US$ so received bonus in US$. If you had deposited in british pounds, you would have received bonus in british pounds (100 of which is worth much more than 100 US$). But you chose to deposit US$.

So the offer of "50 percent UP TO 100 POUNDS" could also mean, in your case, "50 percent up to $100" Your deposit and bonus would have given you a bigger bankroll if you had deposited with british pounds instead of US$. Of course then that deposit would have cost you more as pounds are worth more than US$.

I doubt Ladbrokes (or any other online casino) would calculate the currency conversion rates between US$/British pounds/Singupur or anything else. They do give you the option of depositing in whatever currency you chose. If you wanted the most bang then deposit British pounds. If you had used Singupur, you would have still received 100 max.

Clouded terminology

I think the problem is poor use of language, and lack of a worked example in another currency.

The phrase "amount equivalent in casino chips" can be interpreted differently in relation to the claim "100 pounds".

It could mean that a dollar deposit would receive the 100 in an "amount equivalent in dollar chips", around $200 (and this is how I read it when I checked the site).

What they seem to mean is that it is the 100, and not the currency that applies to the term "equivalent", and they mean 100 CHIPS is the bonus, which will be 100 of whatever denomination you deposit in. This is the most usual arrangement, and is often left unstated, so when the terms do state about currency equivalent, it is easy to make the non-standard interpretation.

A worked example would have helped, such as "deposit 200 and get 100 deposit 400 and get 100" or "deposit $200 and get $100, deposit $400 and get $100"

As to the other point, there ARE casinos that apply currency exchange to bonuses. Spin Palace do this with some of the competitions, such as the slots rally, "first prize $200, 150, e200". This takes out the "pound edge".
I have also seen Riverbelle (BelleRock) quote different amounts for pounds and dollars.

That's for sure. Seems they're actually wanting people *not* to play in pounds, seeing as how euro's are still closer to the dollar than pounds...that are .53x right now.

calling catcat

Catcat, I'm sure Ladbrokes have been in touch with you by now, so what did they say?

They are a very good casino and it would be good to see how they handled this matter.

You were not wronged. At Ladbrokes, 1 casino chip is worth 1 unit if your currency is USD, EUR or GBP. If you were to play in Canadian dollars for example, where 2 units worth 1 casino chip, you would have received 200 CAD in bonus, that can be converted to 100 casino chips. Obviously the bonus is 100 USD, EUR or GBP, 200 CAD or 1000 Hong Kong $, etc.

You can have a look at the fixed exchange rates at Playboy Casinos's Help (I couldn't find it on Ladbrokes but Playboy is run by them also and have the same rules) if you scroll down:

However I agree with you that the casino should have been more clear what currency equivalent means for them.

they replied what webdaz said

they replied an answer which the amount was ment in chips .

so that s what happened , they say if a CLIENT open account in pounds he would have got a max of 100 pounds
