Hi All, :(

Katherine got diagnosed with Swine flu last Monday, the poor thing cannot move at the moment and can hardly walk or anything.
The bloody hospital wont admit her as so many people have it around here they just say to stay home for a week.

So I have had to take the last few days off work ( which they arent happy about and honestly dont care).
Katherine has been upstairs ini bed whilst I have been looking after baby ben.
In the last two days he has started to really cough to the extent he throws up because he is coughing so hard... im really worried about him at the moment and am taking him to the Hospital again tonight and pretty sure he will be admitted.
Im back at work now and have a really good friend of ours at home looking after the baby and doing house work and taking care of katherine, if it wasnt for her we would be stuffed so I will be buying some flowers and some kind of gift to show her our thanks.

I gotta be at work to pay the bills and so work stay off my back.

It's been a real trying week and hope this is all over with soon enough.

Guy's any idea's what I could buy a 50 year old mother with kids who have left home and lives on her own, somethinig to let her Know how much we appreciate her, want to spend a few hundred on her...

Cindy:)

So sorry

to hear that same old, hope all gets back to normal at home soon.

As far as a gift idea, have you heard of Pandora Bracelets, they are really popular, and a nice ongoing gift, as they can be added too, so any future things you wanted to give her could also be covered by this.

Google will bring them up for you to have a looksie

Take care:o

Here's hoping for a speedy recovery for Katherine and you and the baby need to stay healthy!! As far as the gift idea...I personally like gift cards. I'm a little hard to buy for so it takes the stress out of it for people unless there is a particular thing that I have mentioned. Just my 2 cents! Take care....:)

Sorry to hear this Same_old. Here's hoping that mom and baby make a speedy recovery. That swine flu can be nasty, no doubt about it.

As to the gift, I agree with the poster(s) who suggested a gift card. At least that way, the lady will be able to get herself something that maybe she wouldn't ordinarily buy, and something that she really wants. Whatever you decide on...the thought is there, and I'm sure she'll appreciate that.

Thinking of you and your family, knowing it is a stressful time for you which many Docs say could lead to a weakened immunity and make you more susceptible to illness also so load up on Vitamins and/or Boosters and try to get that desperately needed rest.

Just wanted to wish you and your family all the best.

The fact that you are still thinking of others despite going through such trying times shows what a decent person you are.

Hope things get back to normal for you all soon.

God bless you and your family my good friend same_old. I wish them both God Speed in their recovery and you try and take care not to catch it as well. You guys will be in our prayers buddy, sorry I did not see this post sooner. :o

Hey same_old, how is everyone in your house feeling? I'm hoping you're going to say on the road to recovery. It can be really tough and heartbreaking when little kids get sick....there's so little you can do for them.

You are in my thoughts and prayers.
May God be on your side & to wish you all a fast recovery.
We never ever like to see any child sick because it tears us adults into pieces to see this go on.
A child has the strength better than us old folk to fight this off.
God Bless You All.

WOW!!, thank you all so much- i have never met any of you but you all seem the type I could easily sit and have a beer with and just chat, your all good souls thank you so much.

UPDATE:

Katherine is a lot better now and is back at work which is good, still some minor issues with her health not realted to the swine flu but other than that she is good.

Ben on the other hand is still under the weather, He isnt coughing anymore but is getting terrible ear aches, so bad to the extent he loses his balance and is grizzlie a lot of the time. The Dr suggested we get some kind of Bung or stopper put in his ear to stop infections as this is the foourth ear infection he has had since he was born, I personally think it is child care where he is getting sick, 20 other kids around the same age, someone is always sic there, I think thats just the way it is. he goes to child care three days a week and i have wednesday, thursday's off so I look after him on those days.

We have to see a specialist this Saturday to confirm if he will be getting the bung, for now he is on Amoxocilan antibiotics to try and keep it at bay.

Once again, thank you ALL so much for your kinid words and wishes, you have kept me sane and my spirits up and i cant thank you all enough..

You Meister heads are a class of your own, glad to be a part of the crew.
