I did it. i put $50 in a the Phoenician. as usual, I'm winning - yay. Here's today's software question. I win three in a row. I worry. I take a break and run around the block. Has the software gone on without me, dealing hands to everyone and now I might be on another strand. Or has the software stopped on my last hand, knows exactly where I was and takes up there.

thanks lanidar. just finished losing it. had fun with BJ and thanks to bethug, I tried a new game - war, which I'd not heard of. With my last $1.50, I went to a nickel slot machine and won 20 cents. I wish I could call the casino and say, I didn't mean it can we please start all over?

I dont know what the odds are on war (50/50?) but I think something is wrong with it at rtg casinos. You used to be able to make some money on war if you kept at it long enough but not now. I had strings of 6 or 7 losses in a row but bigest win streak was 3.

I lost 1200 play money on it in about 15 minutes betting 25 dollars a hand. I lost every double down war I had too, except maybe 1 or 2


Although blackjack seems a good bit improved, though odd. I was getting 20's left and right and went from 600 to around 1200 in a short time. Then went down to around 200 dollars. Like a switch was thrown or something. I could not win for nothing. 21 to my 20, 19 to my 18 etc...

When it hit 200 or so dollars they switched it back my way and I got so many 20's and 21 it wasnt funny. Even hitting on 18 or something I got a 2 or 3 and won. I took it back up to 1200 and played war and lost.

pooter, for one u dont bet 25 a pop. I have won major money on land and online playing war, the only casino i dont win war at is playtec.

you can make a killing on rtg war. It not a 50/50 game. but there good odds
I use a bet pattern of 1 1 1 5 8 , but that with a 1000 depoist and i start over with each win.

That is why it was play money. I work out a stratejy that seems to work ok, then play for the real money.

I used to have 3 card poker,bj,and war as the 3 games I played in my little system I worked out, and it used to work well and made some money, but war hasnt been good to me lately so trying out craps/bj/3card .

The closest thing to betting on flipping a coin would be Baccarat, and I would recommend betting Player. Both the Banker bet and even doing Pai Gow have a better win percentage but of course the Casino grabs that 5% commission!

First, Bethug; can you spell it out for me? You bet 11158 means specifically? You bet one and if you win, you bet one again and if you win you bet one again and if you win you bet 5 and if you win you bet 8? What if you lose that first time or second or 5th?

I'm quite new to any gambling (online or bricks and mortar) having only started on 28th February 2004 from a complete standing start. Like a true newbie I stumbled upon Martindale and thought it was mana from heaven...then I saw the light but by then I was hooked in! Since then I have studied, learnt basic strategy and looked at various betting strategies.

I now use a simple positive progression (returning to 1 on a loss) 1,2,2,3 or 1,3,3,2,5 if I'm playing a larger wagering requirement and it has served me well (online and B+M) but I am under no illusion that it may not be any better than flat betting in the LONG run. Saying that it does allow for better wins when the flow is in your favour and that does help if you can walk away or compensate for the bad runs if you have to continue. It also adds a little sparkle especially in RL, as a converted flat bettor friend can testify.

I am also aware that things do level out after time especially in negative expectation games (I purely play BJ) but having only been playing for a relatively short period I can honestly say that I have netted in excess of $10k, at about $/5 unit bets. I have seen things slowing down recently but I hope that a downturn is not imminent (although I am always moving forward in my knowledge, so as to keep me ahead for the future ).

I don't think Bethug should be so niave to blindly defend his good fortune but then neither should others be so quick to knock a system that is clearly working for someone at the moment.

Everyone needs to use whatever they feel is comfortable for them and that they feel works, as only their bank balance will testify to.

And despite having won ok I certainly feel that online games are not totally random and do not play at all like RL casinos, sometimes it is almost predictable when you're on a losing streak especially if you are varying your bet.

Ultimately I have managed to make enough for me to shoot my first film in September so I can't really complain but still keep an open and cynical mind

PS Is Cipher's programme available to the public yet?

Player bet is worse than banker bet becuase bank win more often than player.

If we play 200 hands of Baccarat at $10 a hand, and I bet Player I lose $20. You bet Banker you lose $30.50 because of commission. Final results are Banker 101 wins, Player 99. Banker wins at the rate of 50.68% according to the Wiz's numbers. So I win by losing less!

Okay lets get out the calculators, 200 bets at $10, $2000 action.
Banker wins 101. Betting Banker gets you (101 * 10 * .95)-(99 * 10). I get 959.50-990 = -30.50 Betting Player gets you (99 * 10) - (101 * 10). I get 990 - 1010 = -20.00 I win by losing less! The whole point that has flown over everyones head is that the ev. of one event is not the same as the ev. of a series of events.

I just went to play for fun money. Quick and SIMPLE question. I did what Darcus said. Once I got to the last number, (ie I won 1, bet 2, won, bet2, won bet 3, do I keep betting 3 until I lose or do I immediately go back to one and start over?

Okay, I've just played for fun on CON. Using strict basic, I lost 8 in a row, then pushed, then lost. My software question is: suppose I had quit on my 4th loss, waited awhile and come back. Has the software noted where we stopped and I will still lose the next 4, push and lose? It seems so because whenever I get disconnected, the next time I log on, there is that last game that we have to continue to play. Alternatively, I had thought that the software just keeps doing its loop and if I came back after it had time to go through those extra four losses, sans me, that I had a decent chance of re-entering on a positive streak.
