How to create a blog (and related issues)

I've noticed that a few folks seem to be having problems creating a blog here at Casinomeister. Fair 'nuf, here's how:

Creating A Blog

Step 1 ) First you need to see if you are allowed to create a blog:
Beginning on the forums front page, https://www.casinomeister.com/forums/, click on the link to your User Control Panel (aka 'User CP'):

Once you are in your User CP, scroll down and click on the 'Blog' entry on your left hand nav-bar:

This takes you to your Blog Control Panel. If the 'Blog Control Panel' section on the left looks like this:

then you have permission to create a blog. Go to Step 2.

However, if your 'Blog Control Panel' section looks like this:

then you don't have permission to creat a blog .. YET. See 'Your Permissions' below.

Step 2 ) Ok, so you're in your 'Blog Control Panel' and you see the 'Blog Title and Description' entry listed:

Let's assume you want to go ahead and create a new blog. Click on 'Blog Title and Description' and it will take you to the 'Blog Title and Description' page:

Fill in your details. When you're done click on the 'Submit' button. And you have a new blog!

Your Permissions

Step 1 ) Find out what User Group you belong to.
Beginning on the forums front page: https://www.casinomeister.com/forums/
click on your user name:

This takes you to your Profile page where you can see which User Group you belong to:

Step 2 ) Are people in your User Group allowed to create blogs?

Go to the User Group Permissions page: Link Outdated / Removed
scroll down to the 'Blog General Permissions' section and you'll see a line entitled 'Can View Own Blog':

'Can View Own Blog' basically says whether you can view, and in our case that means 'create', your blog. So you see that you have to be in the 'Fully Registered' group or better in order do this. Of course the next question is how do you get in that group. Read on.

Step 3 ) Scroll down to the bottom of the User Group Permissions page and you'll see the 'Promotions' section which looks like this:

The highlighted stuff is what you're interested in. That tells you that to get into the 'Fully Registered' group you need to either:
a) be registered for 30 days or more AND have a Reputation of 50 or more, or
b) be registered for 30 days or more AND have made more than 100 posts.

Ok, I think that about covers it. Feel free to post here if you think anything is missing, needs clarification, correction, etc.
