As many of you will already know we post Casinomeister Warnings to alert readers to casinos they should be wary of:

warnings-from-main-menu.webp

That forum is dedicated to bringing Warnings to everyone’s attention:

You may also be familiar with our sidebar widget that appears from time to time:

warnings-widget.webp

So, what we’re dealing with is a SERIOUS backlog in Warnings that need to be posted and we’re wondering how best to bring those to your attention, assuming you want us to do so. Hence the Poll questions above.

Please let us know what you think. And thank you for your time and thoughts.

Yup, very true, hence the inspiration to post this. It’ll be good to hear what the readership thinks of the Warnings, suggestions for improvements, etc.

I think any method that will make it clearly visible via the "Search Forums" tab works. When I am considering a new casino, that is my first step. Search the forum, see how other players are reacting to the casino. If I see a "Casinomeister Warning" thread pop-up, that's an automatic red flag. Hope this helps 🙏

I’m happy with how this is currently handled. Can I ask though that we don’t use banners for this at the top of the forums page as they tend to take up half of the screen for us landscape iPad users.

Also @maxd, the poll allows for someone to cast more than one vote. I assume it’s always been like this but I thought I’d raise it just in case.

Thanks @satchnz , good point about the banners. As it happens we have specifically requested that the forum banners be significantly reduced in size, so hopefully the next time we post one it will be better behaved with your iPad. If it isn’t feel free to give us a shout (and a cheeky screenshot) to allow us to do better.

As to the multiple selection option in this Poll, yes that was intentional this time. Normally Polls are a this-or-that thing but since we’re trying to scoop in people’s thoughts here I thought it best to keep it open.

Only had a quick think about it so no problem if my idea doesn't even see the tiniest chink of light.....

How about a pinned thread on the main forum page where ALL of the warnings go? Maybe not previous ones but from now onwards....

This would prevent multiple threads taking up the whole page, members would be more inclined to click just one thread for a quick check or to look for updates (rather than clicking several, especially if there are, as you mention possibly lots to come...)

Also if it is pinned and always there (especially at the top of the page) no one can bitch and moan and say they didn't see it :p

Yep and the intention was a good one as it allowed me to vote for both an ongoing thread and a summary in the weekly mail.

Yes, I think you’ll find that is the result of people being able to select more than one item in the poll. The % numbers are only significant on a per item basis: 41.2% voted for this item, 17.6% voted for this one, etc. Theoretically everyone could vote for all of them in which case they’d each show 100%.

I see, so the percentage total can be anything up to 700% as there's 7 different options and respondents can choose one to all of them. Phew! Now I know why it looked odd...

Could it be that a user can easily use a separate search function. Sort of like: find out a casino's reputation here >> and user enters the casino name and everything on this forum related to it like the Warnings, review, rep profile and threads created is all listed?

Casino A > Warnings: 0, Review: link, Rep Profile: link, Threads:

Interesting idea! A customised search like that might well be doable. Thank you!

I voted for the forum post, mainly due to the visibility that will give to people not necessarily CM members. The forum posts quickly get indexed by Google and if someone is searching for "Crapcasino Review" or "Crapcasino Scam" they will hopefully be presented with the forum thread explaining why they shouldn't spend their cash there - hell, they might even join an accredited one while they are here. :)

Maybe an ongoing list of current PABs? No need to name the casinos but just an up to date idea?
Hmm, not sure I understand what you are thinking here. Might this be the sort of thing you have in mind?

If yes, you can find that in the right hand sidebar (desktop browser). Not sure where it is on mobile, might have to scroll down a ways.

@SlamRoyale
Then again, a line in the search results is for those who search, not everyone does that by default. But I like that idea.
A weekly reminder and a DM about each new update is a better call, I reckon. Makes it feel somewhat personal, and it's easier to look through a short-list than a long one in the search results. But those could potentially be switched off in the settings, too, by mistake along with other promotional mail, and weekly reminders could feel like a spam. Maybe monthly or, rather, have a big red button to receive a DM with the fresh list on demand, when in doubt? Implying, if there hasn't been any updates for the week/month, you'd just be sending the same list over again.
Or a running line, like @Lemon suggested, but vertically? Horizontal running lines are more fit for the long sentences, hence why they're used in the news broadcasts, so IMHO a vertical banner would fit this purpose better, and you can't switch it off, unless you know exactly how.

Edit: failed to quote, so had to type in manually + petty grammar.
