Not been betting much last few weeks on horses not had the money as such.

But will have a look at the weekend when off work and bored and put few bets on over weekend.

Might check out what's running today after 2pm when I get in and put a bet on something.

I just think that it is a big price in such an open race

Just got round to looking at the cards myself.

3.00A Ardlethen be amazed if this isn't placed today at least. Clear this has been his target all season. 11/2 4 places PP or BF.

3.35A Benson. Same as above, 13/2 BF 6 places. Also like Night Edition for a place here at 25/1 and Sean's only ride of the day at around 16's. Tricast on the three just in case :)

1.50A Drumcliff is reunited with Aine O’Connor who’s 2 from 3 on this horse. Stables in good form too, Sean Bowen often rides this, is at the track today, with only one ride in the 3.35, so have to think the fact he has this jockey on is for a reason. 8/1 BF PP 4 places.

2.25A Main Fact has won his last 9, loves heavy ground, surely has a chance to get at least a place here, despite this being a stronger race. Currently 7/1.

I landed on Belfast Banter 10/1 this morning with laddies 5 places. Wide open race so plenty priced at decent value.
But for me theres something about Fahey(Peter) sending one all the way from here for a race like this. Alone. It's not like he hitched a ride with a group of mullins/elliot horses which happens sometimes. Hes travelled alone,which (tin foil hat on) tells me the yard fancies their chances.


Also @paul7388 I managed to get 100quid on the mane bet in store. A little creativity and walking between two stores to do it. But worth it now.

I really do think that it is such a wide open race. I could have made a case for at least 10 of the runners and your argument for Belfast Banter just added to it!

Absolutely right. They where both held way too far back until it was too late. I would say that Benson was given more to do because Belfast made a move way before Benson did and Benson finished as if it was in a 7f race
 
Not sure why, but the bookies seem to be running scared of Sophosc in the 2.45L. Currently as low as 7/2, from an opening show of around 16/1. However, although there is money on Betfair, there isn't loads, and its still trading there at around 9.6. Certainly wouldn't be back it at the current prices.

In the 11.45 think It Must Be Faith should have a good chance at 9/4
Speech Bubble in the 2.35H shoudl be able to get placed at least, around 6/1
1.45L Fame N Fortune should destroy these, thought it would be odds on, best priced 6/4
2.25S Hart Of Steel should win this, jockey;s in excellent form, currently around 2/1.

After taking a look at the 245 I can't see any good reason for Sophosc to have much of a chance but it has drifted in the market since you posted. I'm a bit late to the ,erm,races in posting but these are mine for today.

A couple for Boxing Day

3.30 Wolves. Intuitive 3.30W had a wind op in February, and didn't see a racecourse again until last month. Given he's usually a pace horse, I'm assuming his hold-up ride then, was a tryout for his breathing and the first-time visor. Finished well that day, from a poor position, and expect him to do much better in this. The 6/1 with Bet365 seems very generous.

1.50 Kempton. Shan Blue shoudl win this easily, very confident about this. 15/8 is massive.

2.15 Leop. Felix Desjy, again, should easily win this, 7/4 is generous.

3.00 Kempton. Has to be Clan Des Obeaux (Clan Des Obeaux) for a third win in this. Think he will take it up between the last 2 fences and clear away from this field. Frodon could hang on for a place, would imagine he will be around 33/1 on Saturday.

Took this one, 2.88 at BF, 3.00 with oddsboost (they could extend that max bet from five even to tenner, wouldn't yet be huge loss...) :) Happy Christmas for all and big thanks for sharing your thoughts and bets here. Been learning a lot from horse racing this year, really appreciate all your answers to my noobie questions which have helped to make small horse betting interesting little excitement to weekends, especially this covid year home activities are more than welcome (not gonna stop even covid would be gone by tomorrow)

Quite surprised at the prices for the ones I put up on Christmas Eve, I was expecting them all to be shorter this morning.

One at a very big price that may have a chance is Army Of One in the 12.15 at Limerick. Gavin Cromwell won this race last year and has a good overall record in the race. However he's not exactly in form at the moment and Army Of One made some quite bad jumping errors on her debut run a few weeks ago. That was a much better race than this though, and if she jumps better I think she might finish in a better position than her price suggests. 50/1 in most places, well apart from Boylesports who go 20/1, what a joke they have become!

Done a treble on the three shorted priced ones and a yankee on all 4 of them (from Xmas Eve)

Don't forget the free fivers at PP and BF exchange.

Also keep an eye out in coming days have a comp lined up. Just waiting for Paddy Power to give me the all clear.
 
Would have been interesting WGN in mud of Chepstow but better they not racing if it's worse than it normally could be this time of year. Not great for horses, some carrying quite heavy weights etc...

2.20 Leopardstown: Pike County, 12/1 EW, PP 5 places and pays winner also for 2nd.
Took that Bamford as well so you know who to blame when he don't get near goal today

I backed Hybery in this. 12/1 but shorter now. 5 places with PP plus the winner for 2nd place means I've backed him In three shops due to max stake lol.

He averages 4 shots a game. Leeds at home too and Burnley notorious for keeping it tight. So I'd expect bet landed by HT honestly.

Yesterday was decent, although 2 of the 3 in the treble got beat, had an EW on Frodon, that more than paid for the rest of the day, and the next couple of days racing :D

3.35W Toronado Queen, finished third a couple of runs ago to Moonlight in Paris, but wasn't far away and had had a troubled run. Did better LTO finishing 2nd. Currently 8/1 and looks a decent EW bet.

4.40W Glendevon. 4th last time out, but had to be switched twice when making a challenge, and was only beaten 3.5l. I don't think it would have won with a clear run, but do think it would have got 2nd. Was in a tongue tie that day, and it obviously worked, if it does the same job today then think he has a good chance of being placed at 22/1.

12.45K Ambassador The Skelton stable are in excellent form at the moment, and this one ran well to finish second, last time (first time out). Looks a decent EW bet at 8/1.

2.55L Dunvegan EW 6 places. Be surprised if this doesn't run a good race today.

Tomorrow 1.15L Fury Road 11/4 in a double with Appreciate It 2/1 in the 1.45L today.

Good luck, but not for me, 4 horse races are notorious for having short priced favourites getting beaten, mainly due to them being run at a false pace and suchlike. Obviously theres a good chance of it coming in, but seen too many of these 'certain' doubles fail in the past :(
 
In the 1.30 at Newbury tomorrow Sean and Peter Bowen have the only runner/ride of the day, Equus Dancer. It's a 400 mile round trip for them to make, and I can't see them doing that if they aren't expecting the horse to get some prize money. The question mark is the trip, as it's last 2 wins were over almost 3f shorter, but he won them by long margins both times, both times going away from the rest of the field, so I think the extra won't be a problem. The current 11/1 at PP or BF seems big to me and worth an EW bet.
I would have Dickie River as the danger, decent form, and although off for a while, early money for a Nicky Henderson /JP Mcmanus owned horse (7's into 5's) is usually worth taking note of.

I also like The Cob in the 2.05 (100/30) and Rock on Barney in the 1.05 at Limerick (9/4)
