12.10NB Mrs Hyde, really can't see this being beaten today, 3/1 was available last night which I thought was massive then forgot to back it, but 9/4 is still a decent price as I think it should be about 6/4.

2.05NC Epatante 10/11 is a mad price for this too, it should win by half the track, think it should be half this price.

2.25NB I like Marie's Rock in this, currently 15/8 best price, but it's widely thought that she is as good as Epatante, and if thats the case, then should quite easily beat this field.

Not horse racing, but will be sticking it in a yankee and accumulator with the ones above, Watford to beat Preston. 5/6 is a massive price for this match. Although Preston have decent away form, it isn't as good as Watford's home form, Preston are about to sack their manager, and don't have any full backs available, it looks like he is going to have to use strikers in the defensive roles. Can see Watford winning by 2-3 goals here.
 
Watford-Preston O2.5 also 2.2 at betfair (probably around same most of bookies) which me think is good id you look how much Watford have scored at home, made double with Norwich-Coventry O2.5 (1.85) which hopefully funds my beer consumption with 4.07 odds.

Have bet for Epatante as well and Lunar Jet 1.43 Doncaster.

Great day for betting though, getting busy to find more losers for today :)

I won comp while ago, been bit lazy in trying to run one but will try now. If tomorrow comes too fast, can suggest any other day or format of comp.

But let's try simple, anyone who post to this thread sometimes can make any bet worth of 60x (like EW Lucky15 worth)and with the biggest win get £25. Any semi normal currencies, Paypal, Revolut, bank or some even half decent crypto.

If too last minute, suggest another date/comp :)
 
7.00 Ghaith. Just a quick late one here. Currently 12/1, think this has an excellent chance of being placed, and a decent one of winning. Last time was running on very heavy ground, and didn't get the lead. Has won twice over C&D. You are gambling on it getting the lead early on, or at least being in the first 2 or 3, but if it does I think it will be there at the end.

This is a very generous comp @Slottery :)
I think that you may need to make the terms of the comp clearer such as selecting a meeting and nominating 3 4 or 5 races to bet on.

Tried maybe to take too easy way, thought all UK&Ireland races would be ok to everyone be able use their best findings of the day (or i was too lazy too see races today, Saturday would have been way better...) but we can make last 4 races at Fairyhouse today, first starting at 2.05 UK time if not mistaking. Imaginary £60 to make what ever bets and best return wins. If coming too fast can change meeting (one reason why thought everything today would be ok as many probably have checked races little bit in advance).

I'll pop some selections up in a bit, however think it might be a bit quick for some people, I know @geordiecolin works a lot and starts early on the morning, so if he's at work today he might not see this till too late. If no one else enters or maybe only one other, happy to redo it another day to give others a chance :)
I also think it would be better over all meetings if it's done a different day :)

Can make it what ever UK/Ireland races today so @colinsunderland you can make yours again and maybe more readers can take part. Obviously any cheating against fellow CMers not tolerated so no winners posted after race etc... prick behavior which i don't believe will occur anyway. My current weekend football coupon looks already good (still two games to be played) and gonna get nice cashout anyway so can make another comp next weekends big race day, this can remain as warm up here for who just post their selections.

Looking forward to watching the 1.05 at fairyhouse.

Ballyadam at odds on is opposable for me.
In saying that should he win today then the supreme novices at the festival will be the target.


Happy enough to take on today though with Cask Mate.


Cask mate came back from 3 years out with a bad tendon to win a nice maiden at Limerick then dispatched Dewcup who is no slouch by 10l. It's a hot race so I'd rather have a small bet on cask mate at 11/2 than lump on Ballyadam at 4/7.

In the 2.05 I like Court Maid each way at 12/1.

If the trainers name was Willie rather than Thomas Mullins he would be half the price.


Honeysuckle at 2/5 and Envoi Allen at 1/6 are both obviously too short to back but I will enjoy watching with a view to the festival in the leopardstown at christmas ahead.

I am about to jump out of my lovely hot bath to watch the 13.05 race with Ballyadam. I wouldn't be surprised if the fave gets turned over

Laid Ballyadam @ 1.61, probably losing that if trusting money coming to BF to back it late but price just tempting for 2m nov hurdle if this much under evens can chose all the rest :) Small bet to N'Golo, was 9/1 winner for me 3 weeks ago and would guess it to be quite near if favorite not winning.

edit: Wasn't even near to lose, N'Golo place made it even for me.

Blah. Ballyadam jumps a little slow but hes def a nice type. I actually backed cask mate ew so got a nice return when he went off 8's.


Court Maid won at 17/2 having been 12's. Must have been my tenner:laugh:

As this was really badly organized comp with non existant planning, will run second one next weekend, only thing what's not improving from this week is reward which remain £25 and comp is:

All who wanna participate, can pick 3 horses who think will be top three. Winner is who get best return. All get points from: Win, Place and combination forecast and tricast so just pick horses who finish top 3 and if picking them all, recommend to place that bet as well :)

really, I won with a 10/3 2nd - obviously a great days racing for everyone :(

Quick question for people, do you find you have better days of the week than others? For me Saturdays are usually terrible (although had my biggest ever win on a Saturday, and my second biggest), Mondays tend to be best, when I'm studying form properly, races tend to be low quality and are much more predictable. Sundays are mixed, I rarely have a bet, but when I do it's because I fancy something properly.

Saturday/Sunday usually a wipeout for me, too many big field handicaps that I cant resist. Monday/Tuesday not too good for me either as I tend not to read a lot of the form and just look at the races and pick on recent form.
I usually find Thursday/Friday i would have more success relative to the rest of the week, maybe its the racing is starting to get a bit better with slightly classier meetings leading up to the weekend?
 
As i don't yet understand much about these, for me good day seem to be when some tipped horse win, middle of the week seem to be much easier to predict which sounds logical for me if you compare to weekends big field over 3 miles over hurdles ones where favorite odds are just around 10.

Was lucky week/weekend so happy to run comp next Sat.

Most definitely if you're at a loose end it is very possible to back a heap of losers on a weekend. Lots of racing. More free racing on tv. More exposure to it. All lead to many punters(myself inc) backing a few they may not otherwise back.

That's why I think you'll find if you're like me anyway that midweek you'll generally do better. I don't fancy it I don't bet as I wont see the racing. But on a Saturday I can back anything.
Today for example i am off all day and the missis is still in the USA.

I bet

2 x first goalscorers in soccer. 1 pending,1 lost.
1 x first try scorer. Lost.
1x hurling bet. Lost.
2 x horses. 1 won.1 second.
1 x NFL bet still to run.


That's 7 bets total as I watched sport all day.
I'd have one horse at best midweek and maybe a over/under type bet on champs league at the very most.

So to sum up. Not only am I not earning money on my days off. I am losing money instead lol.

Makes sense, working Monday to Friday so its only a cursory glance in the morning and if something catches my eye then I might have a bet. On Friday night I am already looking at the Saturday racing, getting loads of eureka moments on the big handicaps and then spend Saturday watching them lose. Repeat Saturday night for Sunday....
I also find it worse when Skybet offering so many extra place races, it used to tempt me to try and find a bigger price horse that could run into a place which it invariably doesnt. But ive stopped backing with Skybet in a lot of these races because of them taking away the BOG on all of their extra place races, which they seem to have even more of now.

1.08N Not the type of race I would usually have a bet in, but The Bosses Oscar's owners sponsor this race, and apparently this has been his target. He also needs a few lbs rise in the weights to stand a chance to qualify for the Pertemps, and there was money for him in that during the week. Tout est Permis is the other one that needs a rise in the weights for the same reason. 9/2

5.30W Mighty Gurkha should win this easily. Was 4/1 earlier, now around 9/4.

11.52W Witness Protection His last win is looking better since the 2nd ran well earlier this week.

I agree with you on Yala Enki anything around 9 or 10/1 is a very good ew bet.

Ladbrokes go 4 places.


In that 1.08 at Navan it is a very open classy looking handicap on paper. Willie Mullins and Elliot fire a few at it including the bosses oscar like you say who has a strong chance. In such a good betting heat though and ladbrokes paying 5 places I landed on a big price one.

Ballinaboola Steel at 25/1.
Shark Hanlon loves a good handicapper and this one is on the rise. Some 34lbs or so in his last four runs. The ground and trip will be no issue. The claimed negates the 3lbs out of the handicap. Its literally(in my opinion) a case of luck in running and just see how good he really is at 25/1 I'm happy to take a punt.



Now traffic here is crazy today so no city driving. rather than walk to paddy power (ladbrokes sports prices are horrendous) I'm using 365 online to bet

Scotland +10 and Italy +18 in today's rugby. The double is a little under 3/1.

That's my entire betting for this Saturday I'm being very restrained. Wait until tomorrow when I'm free all day and end up with 27stupid mug bets :laugh:

2.25C Court Maid, I took 3/1 for this early today, now best priced 13/8. I'll be amazed if this doesn't win easily.
3.00C Out Sam. Sean's only ride of the day. Elliot's only runner at the meeting. Long way to travel for no prize. Was third in this last year. 7/1 4 places seems big to me, and this is my favourite race of the whole year :)
