Not a bad afternoons punting at all. I'm in profit even if the below all lose :) Nice to see evening racing on ITV :)
Howey has gone out to 40/1 for my EW single in the next so I'm not holding out much hope there.

But I've stuck these on for tonight

Will be back in the turf tomorrow.
Can’t wait to actually get to a local meeting, few drinks some good atmosphere and watch the racing.
I was always told about gambling from a early age, my dad and uncle loved the meetings and the horses, never classed gambling as bad and where totally honest about it.
Think now it’s why I’ve never been a problem gambler tbh.
Remember going the local bookies to place the bets for them from the pub and being told ‘don’t forget to pay the tax’ haha
The smokey old bookies with dogs roaming about and a great atmosphere...
Good days.

Good days.
When I first started going into my local bookies the local charity tin collector was usually lumping money on in there. He was a bit of a local celeb. 6'7 "gentle giant" with a heart of gold raising money for local good causes.
Trouble was that it was one £ for them and £ for him. He got away with it for years by using an out of town center independent bookie and no one was willing to shop him.

Best course to take my daughter? I’m thinking York as love the course and place.
A afternoon at the races and overnight in a hotel to take her the Viking centre the day after...
Thoughts?..

I like Catterick racecourse and the next meeting there is at the beginning of July. Its probably handy for you too if you drive? But that's a day thing. York is a lovely city :)

Yeah that’s a good call.
always had a soft spot for ripon tbh.
Her mother is totally against ‘me taking her gambling’
But as said i knew what a bet was at a early age, was also told the perills of taking it too far.
she’s had horse riding lessons the past 2 years and loves horses, will be returning when this is over.
She’s asked to go to watch.
bad daddy if I take her? Obviously only be me and her, no drinking.
I will have a lucky 15, will only stay 4 races and she can pick 4 herself...
Good or bad move guys?..

Think nothing is wrong with that.

Most racecourses well ones in Scotland anyway are trying to make days at the racing family days out now.

They have kids entertainment like face painting and bouncy castles etc. at some of the meetings.

Young kids probably would not even realise it is all about gambling.

In fact after typing that i googled Ripon and here is what they offer.

Here at Ripon we believe that horse racing is a sport that should be enjoyed by all the family, we offer FREE admission into all enclosures to all children under 18 as long as they are accompanied by an adult.

We also have two permanent playgrounds available at each meeting, located in our Course and Paddock enclosures to keep the children entertained. Bouncy castles and fun slides are also available in the course enclosure on Saturday meetings (weather dependant).

There are lots of lovely options for something to eat whilst here with us and also welcome picnics in our Paddock & Course Enclosures (racegoers may bring a small amount of alcohol into the Course Enclosure – 4 cans or equivalent – but strictly no spirits and no glass. Alcohol must not be brought into the Paddock Enclosure).

There are catering outlets in the course enclosure (which is where the majority of our Children’s entertainment is based) and over in the Paddock & Club enclosures we have a wide variety of options including jacket potatoes, home cooked warm dinners in our Fountains Café along with Fish n Chips and Hot roast sandwiches & toasties.

And for afters, we have the wonderful ‘Charlotte’s ice creams’ and our traditional sweet shop on site.

If you would like a sit down meal, we have our Club Dining room in the Club Enclosure where Children are more than welcome. Our caterers are more than happy to offer them a Children’s version of what is on the day’s ‘A La Carte’ menu.

That’s brilliant. Cheers Paul.
She’s been asking to go for ages, as said she’s a love of horses.
I won’t just be putting my bets on and making her watch lol, just my lucky and I’ll take her around the course and stables etc if it’s allowed.
Was just a idea for a different day out for her when all this ends as I’m at the end of my tether with home schooling and pointless walks to the same places.
In my house she’s a play cooker, a Nintendo switch, 2 iPads, a fruit shop and a ice cream shop as I’ve probs posted on here.
I have her bike, And Netflix and prime...
A million board games and craft things to do..
But I want her to experience the world and the outside with people and things we all do, can only do so much with these restrictions with her to keep her entertained.
the races is now decided as a good after lockdown event, if any of you guys are north east based by all means come meet us at the track. :)

I would stick my bets on mate but not involve her with the thoughts of winning or losing in betting. She loves her horses anyway so just witnessing them running hard against each other is enough for now. The experience and being with her dad enjoying himself is enough too.
Nobody can take away memories of childhood mate. As an experienced father of two grown up girls can testify to in your situation. Take advantage of being the one that "does not have to be the one dealing with their day to day life so you can just be fun daddy"
That is not your fault or issue mate and they grow up way to fast.
I could say so much more but I am only typing because I see you as such a loving father

14.00, Doncaster: 2 Caspian Prince. Who wouldn't love 11 year old sprinter with last win from 2018? In decent form, looks that trainer might dropped him quite poor glass 2 for his 100th run. 37/99 placed or won.

Will celebrate with old lad and make little EW, been 14/1-12/1, some pay 4 places.

I've taken jabbarockie in that race but Applebys horses are in great form.

Which bookies you use most? Opened account with Coral today, they were so welcoming in their first contact that could consider some others instead of them... Never got bonus banned this fast :D T

We wish to advise you that following a review of your Coral sports betting account, you will no longer be eligible to receive ANY of our free bet offers and concessions.

These include concessions such as “Best Price Guaranteed” as well as ALL current and future free bet offers (including “Acca Boost”).

Please be aware that although you may still see free bet offers and other concessions advertised on the Coral site and mobile apps, any bets you place will NOT qualify toward them and you will not be awarded any subsequent free bets.

Please note that any future sports bets that you attempt to place may be subject to staking restrictions which will be notified to you at the time you are seeking to place a bet. These restrictions are in accordance with our terms and conditions. We would like to draw your attention to the following key points regarding any free bets that you have not yet redeemed or in relation to which you are part way through completing the qualification requirements:

  • Any unredeemed free bet tokens currently available within your account will remain available for use in accordance with the terms and conditions applicable to the specific free bet offer through which they were granted.
  • If you have already placed qualifying bets in relation to a specific free bet offer, you will still be entitled to receive the full value of the relevant free bet token in accordance with the applicable terms and conditions.
  • If you are part way through qualifying for a free bet token you will still be able to place further qualifying bets and be entitled to receive the full value of the relevant free bet token once all applicable requirements have been fulfilled in accordance with the terms and conditions. However, please note that whilst we will allow you to place further qualifying bets on the vast majority of our sports betting markets, the restrictions placed on your account may result in you not being able to place qualifying bets on certain sports betting markets.

I made the silly mistake of sticking my bets on for today last night only to find that most are none runners so I've stuck this on for this afternoon :)

I was there for the full meeting last year and should have been during this years if it wasn't for events. At Goodwood last summer I was given a tip by an owner that he said was a banker which I totally ignored. It romped home at 150/1
I'll wait until tomorrow morning before I sort out my bets but I hope than many of us will share our tips this week
