Hit a jackpot- should I be worried?

Hi,

This is my first post, so let me start off by saying that you guys have a great forum here, one to which I hope I can contribute in the future. Anyways, to the point:
I recently hit a small jackpot (a bit over $10.000) on my first deposit in a group which should have a "reliable reputation". However, they haven't paid me in several weeks and they keep giving me the runaround. I've been promissed payment several times, but the casino keeps telling me they're still verifying game patterns or something similar because the win is so huge.
I'm getting a bit worried here because on my last chat conversation with the casino the representative said "I can see that you've only deposited once.", and I fail to see how that could be relevant. So the casino is obviously not telling me the whole story.
This brings me to my question: Do you guys think I should contact a meditator or just wait patiently while they keep going with their "verification process"? How long should these things take and what would you do in my shoes?

Might help if you tell us which casino, or at least which software, you were playing at.

Some casinos have T&Cs which state that you cannot win a jackpot with bonus money, I believe, and as it was your first deposit I'm assuming you will have been.

Whoah Whoah
I'm hoping you mean something like the progressives in the Microgaming casinos at which you're not allowed by the software to play anyway if you are playing with a bonus.
I certainly hope there aren't any casinos out there at which playing with a bonus and hitting a jackpot means a pat on the back and murmurs of "tough luck.."
If this is the case arbster please tell me which casino has these T&C .
I for one would like to be forewarned.

More to the point of the thread however drdawawula, I can only think that they asked you in order to check if you are a known bonus 'abuser' or something.. if the group is reputable they should pay and arbster is right:
if this goes on past a week you should consider posting the details here.

Which planet are you from?
There are LOADS of casino's that say this!
I'm getting really bored of telling people to READ the T&C's, but..... :what:

drdaruwalla, anything more than a week is too long.
Get help if you can, and please tell us which casino this is?

Earth actually.
Where we have the brains to visit non-rogued casino and are used to being courteous.
Was it the Avatar picture that confused you? :D
I play at well established Microgaming casinos and a couple of Playtechs at which I know the management and where I have read their T&C's and know they do not include terms like the one described.
Now.
Instead of asking what part of the solar system I originate from and should you or someone else be in a generous mood:
At what casinos are you precluded from winning a jackpot specifically from the T&C's?
Inquiring minds want to know.
Cheers

I'm not sure meditating will really help to be honest Dr D.

Its not uncommon for a first-timer who wins big to set off alarm bells, but if the casino is reputable, and you are within the T&C's and above board you shouldn't have a problem.

Cheers

is this tongue-in-cheek humour or are we all having trouble with the word "mediating" here? :D

other than that, if its a reputable software provider, you should get in touch with them

a jackpot that is won across the board have more to do with the software provider that links them than that one particular casino

Thank you guys for the replies!
Let me assure you that my win does NOT breach any terms and conditions, and the casino is not blaming me for anything. They've actually stated a couple times that "the cheque will be mailed today".
I have to say that I don't feel completely comfortable about saying which casino this is, but let me put it this way... This group is actually better known from it's poker business.
Today, I was promissed that they'll be done verifying my account in 3 days. If they fail to meet this deadline, I'll post details.

It sounds like you might be talking about the Starluck/Planetluck group (with their better known Party Poker)? If so there's a chance the software had one of its regular malfunctions, but if they as much as hint that happened you might want to warn them that they'll be digging themselves a grave on sites like Casinomeister (where they can't be far from being rogued as it is)

Anyway, in general it's always a good idea to take a screenshot so you have proof of a big win. It also gives you something to post on the Winners Screenshots thread!

If you don't get the money very soon then you should certainly 'pitch a bitch' with Casinomeister as several weeks is completely unacceptable.

No offence intended! :notworthy
Please bear in mind that many of my posts are made with large tongue in larger cheek! :D
I'm pretty sure that nearly all 'Rip-off Thick Gambler' sites (RTG) have a condition that says 'Max cash out is X times the bonus received. So if an unsuspecting punter wins $100,000, he could find that the T&C's say he can only withdraw a couple of $100's!
As long as you're reading & understanding all the T&C's, you will have no problems.
Good luck with your jackpot hunting - I look forward to seeing your post in the 'Winner Screenshots' thread!

I was out of town when this thread popped up. :D

I'd like to know too - which casino was it - and have you been paid?

Feel free to PM me.
