Hi guys, I have just signed up here. I have been reading the forums and it looks like a good community. I have been playing a lot of casinos recently, testing out some new ones, and I have had some amazing luck.

Just a quick question, I have deposited €100 into a casino with Neteller and got lucky, I won around €10k.

Now the casino is asking me for proof of funds, 3 months bank statements, payslips, 3 months Neteller statements etc etc

Is this normal? I only deposited €100. I don't really want to send them my payslips, but maybe I have no choice. The €100 I deposited was actually won on another casino anyway, so asking for payslips seems bizarre.

Generally there are 2 basic rules with casinos. The odd UK bookies one aside.

1. You can deposit whatever u like. A question is rarely ever asked.

2. If you win and wish to withdraw a large amount then casinos will all of a sudden feel a duty to ask for a million and one documents as it is their duty to do so. Of course you will still be able to blow any winnings you may have accumulated and be free to deposit as much as you like.

I wouldn’t play to much attention to the ahem ‘accredited’ casinos listed on this site. A few are ok, but most will do as much as they can to delay or postpone as much as possible.

It’s the nature of the beast I’m afraid.

Yes, most casinos are bandits that love you playing but hate you winning.

It's a bit like a school bully who throws their weight around when things don't go their way.

Play the game, send what's required and once you get paid, don't ever play there again. Name and shame the casino also, after they have paid. I take it it's a UKGC casino. So you should get paid if you fulfil their unreasonable requests.

But, whatever you do, do not lose your patience and don't get frustrated - expect requests for intrusive information that bear zero relevance to your 100 deposit :)

Shame on you for winning so much, that poor bully casino :p

Yup..... UKGC states........

'Licensees must obtain and verify information in order to establish the identity of a customer before that customer is permitted to gamble. Information must include, but is not restricted to, the customer’s name, address and date of birth.

A request made by a customer to withdraw funds from their account must not result in a requirement for additional information to be supplied as a condition of withdrawal if the licensee could have reasonably requested that information earlier. This requirement does not prevent a licensee from seeking information on the customer which they must obtain at that time due to any other legal obligation.'

But this isn't worth anything. The UKGC won't enforce it.

Casinos will happily let you deposit based on their electronic checks at registration to certify ID, Address etc. Then the second that you withdrawal the Casino will get this sudden passionate desire to 'fulfill their (random) license obligations' and make further checks. If you question it they will make you wait a week and do a copy and paste of their own t&c's, no matter if their terms are against the UKGC guidelines.

Enjoy the winnings. Don't get tempted to use the winnings to win a bit more before they verify you the second time around!

Thanks guys.
They are still asking for stuff completely unrelated to my €100 deposit, which I keep on sending. Now my account is blocked and they can't confirm if that means I am getting paid.
Can't see that they are UKGC registered.
Let's hope they pay me this week, but I am not holding my breath.

Standard KYC is pretty much a routine, including ID/Passport, Address & Payment method verification. So it's more than sufficient. Other than that could be considered as a delayed tactic - but it depends on the situation.

As Minu said, don't get tempted and reverse the withdrawal.

P.S. Now, seeing your post, that account is blocked. That's strange. Keep us posted on the situation and good luck.
