I am sort of new to the gambling sphere and have a question that I am sure you guys can help me with.

I see a lot of free bonuses on first deposits but the catch is that I 'have a play through' of 30-40 times my deposit amount!!

Sometimes, it seems that this is deposit and bonus together.

What is considered a good play through amount and can anyone recommend some good honest casinos : )

Well it is a good question and when you are new to online casinos can seem like a bit of a scam, but at the end of the day its free play money. It is on top of your original deposit normally, so it will not cost you any extra to play it through. You may end up spending more money as a result of trying to claim your bonus, but this is what they are there for. It's an incentive, just like comp's at a casino.

Check the accredited list of casinos here, all have been road tested for fairness and have details of cash out times.

There are definitely no shortage of juicy bonuses when it comes to online casinos. Just be sure to read all the terms and conditions so you know exactly what you are getting into.

And yes, the playthrough requirement is usually a multiplier of the deposit and the bonus together. That's something that confused me a bit too at first.

Decent bonuses are very few and far between these days - loads of "bonus hunters" (including me!) made loads off the casinos over the last 10 years, and so the wagering requirements have got harder and harder generally.

Personally I wouldn't take anything worse than (Deposit + Bonus) x 20 and cashable, preferably x15.
Please take care when looking for bonuses - some appear MUCH better than they actually are. ALWAYS read the T&Cs and look out for things like the bonus being Phantom, disallowed games and max cash-outs.
