hey guys, you know how sometimes you want to direct someone to a user's Profile page?

say you're telling someone to go to a rep's page to get their attention on something, but it's a drag to go looking for their actual page and then cut and paste the URL and blah blah blah.

is there an easy way to do this?

You're on a roll today aren't Mr. PotatoHead?

As it happens, yes, there is an easy way to do that.

Let's say I wanted to direct you to the big guy's page. I would put [profile] and [/profile] around his name, like this [profile]Casinomeister[/profile] and the result would be: [profile]Casinomeister[/profile], a clickable link to his profile page. Easy peasy!

The only downside to this is if you put a munged-up name in between [profile] and [/profile] then what you end up with is a worthless link to the "This user has not registered and therefore does not have a profile to view" page. So you need to get your user names straight, but other than that it's pretty smooth.

Ok, so this one doesn't seem to be of much interest to people.

Am I right, this is a dud?

I thought it was pretty cool ... saves a lot of digging around and allows us to reference the other members directly ... guess it's just me then ... pity, it could have been sweet ... happy members merrily linking back and forth, no more scrolling through the Members list to find someone, bliss! ok, maybe not bliss but ... less tedium, you've gotta admit that.

hello? is anyone reading this?

*sigh*

*moderator ennui sets it big time*

Storing this information away on a Post-It-Note, as the human filing cabinet isn't always dependable. May come in handy sometime. Thank you!
