North of the 49th parallel its the first reliable time to plant many things, and I'm off to ready my vegetable bed, but I resist putting in my peppers and tomatoes until June because we can still get frost where I live.

speaking of brits, i met mel c from the spice girls last friday. she was my least favourite spice girl, but apparently one of the more successful.

speaking of canadians, she once sang in a song with bryan adams "when you're gone", not a bad choon.

and our money has HRH The QE Deuce on it, so sporty and her entourage should have felt right at home shopping at my truck stop while the tour bus fuelled. all of our coins plus the $20 bill feature the queen. $2 bill used to too, is there something about the number two, maybe because she's lizzie ii? oh, the $1000 also has her, i think.

who's on the rest of our money? $100-robert borden, $50-king, $10-macdonald, $5-laurier right? is there a "new-style" $1k bill yet? i had a crazy dream including a casino win yielding ridiculous amounts on currency, like a black $155 canadian bill and a blue $57 and $75 us bill coming out of a slot machine to pay me. what a effed-up dream.
