It saves a bit of money in our house, with my missus not needing to buy the fancy-dress.
My daughter and friend are just off trick or treating, here's how they look as of 5 minutes ago:

This was the first year ever that we went out trick-or-treating - normally we are the ones handing out the sweeties.
I was amazed at how many sweets we collected ourselves from just a handful of houses up our road!
We had a great evening - just us 4 and 2 other families (total of 6 kids under 7)

Halloween is not really a British thing in the sense of "trick or treat", I use precautions when unknown people approach the home.

I have a top of the range "Karcher" power hose system that pours water at the unwanted guests at high pressure, I don't like seeing 8 year kids and their mothers sliding and slipping away onto the road into oncoming traffic but it is necessary as my available funds are needed for gambling.

I have looked into using a taser but sadly this option is currently not available in the UK so I have to endure the water bill charges.

Looking forward to the "Happy New Year" bunch that ask for money, now that's another level of hurt :)

Ahhh! I did wonder why my daughter and friend came back with very few sweets and washed clean of their make-up. Scrooge.

HAAAA ;) made me laugh today...

On a serious note, i ended up looking more of a gimp in my outfit than Catwoman :)

Speaking of Grinches, I saw this on the news - some woman in North Dakota was slipping this note into some of the kid's bags instead of candy.

nosey old witch - sure, parents should be concerned for other kids, but she's no idea if the kid has medical or mental problems, is genetically big, any number of things

if she wants to help, drop in health-conscious snacks and keep her notes to herself

(I'd let my kids egg her house)

I do like that letter, it sums up the extreme that happens, kids can eat too much when allowed to and get over weight. Big boned or genes are no excuse for greedy eating habits, it is sad to see a child puff and wheeze in the playground while others run with ease.

It is often difficult to accept that a child has problems with their diet and even harder as a parent to impose “tough love” to correct their ways.

The letter granted is barbed and blunt but it is not personal to any specific child, it is a reminder of the way things can and do lead to.

I fell on Halloween trying to take the kids out and busted my knee. I fell so hard i actually had double vision all night. I was dressed as cat woman 2 and im glad i had 9 lives. Now im bed ridden, bored and in pain. Next year im buying candy im too old to keep up with the kids anymore.:( Glad some of you guys had fun and the kids enjoyed their night.

Not great here to be honest, I had a slight incursion of the “hell why me” types today with the smiley mothers and the over slightly excited children, for my regret I forgot to replace the “O” rings on my “Karcher” power washer that was badly in need of its annual service.

Even with the slight kink in the pressure I managed to despatch almost a dozen by 12:00am, if I recall I had 4 dangling in the hedgerow opposite, 4 pushed into the path of a Land Rover Discovery 3 car and the others somehow escaped.

Better luck next year I say :lolsign:

Yes I have to say I agree with this note. But the wording should be different and she should be giving this note to all visitors with a couple of sugar free sweets (afterall it's Halloween). The problem is some people are actually born with health issues. Not all people are overweight because they eat to much. This could either be a physical issue or even a mental health issue so she shouldnt just be singling out the bigger kids.

I had so much fun decorating this Halloween, I've got some pictures on my iphone that I'll add later.
