Just thought I'd share my interesting experience with becoming a VIP for the first time ever :)

Since depositing over five figures at vegaspartnerlounge in October, I've been getting the royal treatment (despite having an RTP in excess of 100%), which includes getting the welcome bonus at each of their casinos (which most groups don't allow) and apparently vegaspartnerlounge taking an interest in my personal life / interests!

Of course being a primarily ALL-ACES vp player I'm nowhere near Platinum membership (still in the green / basic level :p )..........

I wonder if other groups like 32red group, CasinoRewards handout the VIP treatment to players who simply deposit a lot but aren't necessarily cash whales for the casino?

Big deposits = potential cash whale as you put it.

They see you making a large deposit, of course they will make you feel like royalty in the hope you will do it again.

I prefer vip/loyalty to mean what it says, I have been a member of some casinos for a considerable amount of years, but as I'm not a high roller I get zero correspondence from them.

I think a lot of Microgaming casinos base your loyalty not just on how much you deposit, but how much you wager. Like if I deposit $500 and wager $20 and hit something and cash out $1000, that's not as good as say depositing $50 and winning $500 and playing it back.

I once managed to get to almost gold status one month at Royal Vegas and I'd only deposited like $40 - but I managed to get lucky and got a ton of playtime. ahhh the good old days. :(

From my own limited experience of being a VIP, I have appreciated a casino that tailors thier offering to suit me. For example, some players prefer speaking to their VIP manager, others prefer contact to be just on email. A good VIP rep should figure this out early on and adjust accordingly.

I also like programs that don't just focus on bonus money, they might find something you like doing or something you enjoy and reward you that way. Therefore I don't mind them finding out a bit about my hobbies and interests if it leads to some cool things I would have had difficulty organising myself.

I have a fair bit of VIP experience, and quality differs widely. They do sometimes ask about the things you like, and this is so that they can send you gifts for Christmas and birthdays, and occasionally arrange some VIP days out. They also get to know you, and almost become your friend. This of course is still a business relationship, REMEMBER THIS! The aim of all this is to keep a VIP player depositing and playing at THEIR casino in preference to any others. The smart VIP player can also have the same kind of "business friendship" with their host, perhaps dropping hints about what they would like to see at the casino. Faster withdrawals maybe, better promos, the removal of unfriendly terms, etc.

However, if you end up winning TOO much, some casinos drop you like a hot potato, the VIP lobby & offers disappear from the lobby or email, your withdrawals suddenly sit pending for 10 days (yes, you know who you are:p), and the VIP host doesn't call nor email any longer.

Others just let their VIP program wither on the vine till it's no better being a VIP than a regular player. A few let players sit on VIP long after the level of their play has dropped, and then suddenly "clean house" out of the blue.

The best perk I ever had was from the long defunct Casino Action, a weekend in Las Vegas for two, flights and accommodation included. Second best was a weekend break for two in a country hotel with a couple of activities thrown in from Vegas Partner Lounge. Apart from this, it's been mostly presents at Christmas and birthdays, bigger bonuses, lower WR, etc. Occasionally a VIP host will go around on a "meet and greet" of players in different countries, and may invite players to meet up over lunch or dinner (paid for by the casino of course). It can be an opportunity for both sides to discuss what each wants from the business relationship in a less formal and more relaxed setting. If you as a player have a difficult or sensitive question, best wait till the VIP host has "had a few", you might get a more honest answer;)

Spot on, Im only a teeny tiny low roller but as i deposited and most of the time lost regular, I was getting VIP calls frpm vegas partner lounge (Richard / Ayanda same person) at least once a week, free spins, NDB etc etc. Then one day a deposit lasted 3 days worth of on and off play and a £700 cash out, think that was the same day my phone was disconnected and my email addy blocked :p

Weird that they'd do that because they added me while I was about $2000 ahead in profit. I guess they look for potential. I was the kind of player who regularly played without bonuses wagering up to $25 (occasionally being suicidal and even dropped some $50 bombs).

I don't really like it when they call me on the phone; Maybe its just me, but I'm kind of annoyed when complete strangers call me out of blue and just start randomly firing off questions like "what did you do for Halloween".

One place I've considered trying to get the better of has been the accred ALLSLOTS casino. They have bonus offers as frequent and crazy as GoWild casino for their VIPs.

They originally let their VIP program wither on the vine, removing one perk after another till little was left. Seems they have woken up to the idea that this was a bad move now that they have new owners. The crazier the offers, the more likely you will get dropped should you win big from these bonuses.

I figure the key is to be patient, ie. play high variance games and wait till your really get a biggie (which for me would be 5 figures).....I haven't actually attempted this at ALLSLOTS however. Despite their accredation here, they have a reputation elsewhere of not paying due winnings.
