So I haven't played for more than a year... took a break for a bit.

But I decided to play at guts. I deposited a modest amount a few days ago and lost. Fair enough. All games in good old aussie bucks!

Today I put in the same modest amount... in Australian dollars. I'm playing and all is good.

I came back this night. I play a couple of different games and next thing I know I'm playing in euros!! WTF??

Wait one minute I say to myself! I put in aussie dollars... and next thing I know the currency has changed.

I wrote to guts about this.... Joonas the rep tells me he has no control over what the providers set as currency. And of course he is right. He's just a rep! But what a crock!!!

Seriously!! Currency changes depending on the game?

To reiterate... sorry am just so ticked off ...

I signed up and chose aussie dollars

I was playing a few games in aussie dollars

next thing I know... games are in euros!!!

Welcome back Dandan. I can imagine how frustrating this situation is for you. I would think that if your account is in Aussie dollars than you should get to play all the games in your currency. I do understand that casinos may have no control over the providers. Having said that online gambling is International and providers need to support as many currencies as possible. I don't know how many Aussies or Kiwis gamble online but I should think it's rather a lot. The providers need to get with the program seriously!

I play Canadian dollars there.

I believe only the Play n' Go games convert your money to Euros when you play them.
I don't play those often, but there are a few I like.

I never questioned why (and am not sure if other casinos that have those games do the same) but think it is pretty obvious as your balance is much lower and it does display the euro symbol on your balance and bet. Maybe a popup warning would be nice. (I think I first noticed when given free spins on those games)

I always like it when they are the free spin games as once you leave and check your balance, those spins were worth more so you have more money to play with in your own currency on other providers :)

Hi Dandan,

As Aintwon stated the PlayNGo games that we offer are only in Euro which I know is somewhat frustrating but as they do not offer a multiple currency option to us we have no choice but to only offer the games in Euro. All other providers that we have support multiple currency and in your case AUD.

Best regards,

Ben

Thanks all for replying!!!

Maybe I didn't stress the point... one minute I'm playing in AUD ....

in the same session next the game changes to Euros!

I mean guts... make up your mind!!!

It is not ethical to change currency mid stream!!!

Yes, the member and Ben have explained above.

As far as I understand things, if for example you are playing a Microgaming or Netent game, your balance/cash will be AUD as you prefer.

If then you chose to play a Play n Go provider game then as explained the balance will now show in euro but will return to AUD when you choose a MG/Netent game.

The first couple times, I was 'dammit'..but really, knowing all the PnG are Euro (and it's clearly in EURO - you see the balance change), just think meh, drop your dollar bet to 80, your 60 to 40 etc. It's really no biggie. And on the plus side, when you hit big and switch back, you're all 'YOWZA, look at my new awesome balance'. It's a small thing really.

Then those games should be provided to players in AUD!!! Or if NOT then show a popup stating that the game in in euros!!!

Euro/AUD... quite a bit of difference there!!!

I don't see a problem with this as long as it's clearly visible and that the same currency exchange rate is used back and forth.

Really? Maybe for a seasoned gamer like you! But not for others. It s a biggie when you don't realise the currency has changed

It wasn't clearly visible! Hence the point of this topic.

I guess I could sign up with any currency hey? I could use yen or yuan... no matter... play along and next minute you are playing in euro despite your signed up currency!!

But I'd argue it is clear...there is at least 3 spots indicating the EUR sign before the money figure - add to that the balance change. I have to assume if you are monitoring your balance, you'd see the little EURO preface indicators.

But let's say, correct, you didnt notice. You NOW know all PnG games are in Euro for all future play sessions. So while granted, pointing out the curr change for others is great, I don't understand the point in belabouring it - because you now know going in that's the way it's set up, so there's zero cause for any future problems to yourself, and you've informed others who can avoid (possibly) the same problem.

You are a senior member and you don't see a problem! I'm playing said game and I THINK I'm playing AUD. That's what I signed up for and deposited in.

I play a new game... and another new game... then I realise I'm not playing in Aussie dollars at all!! I'm playing in Euros!!!

I was NOT notified of said currency change!

And you don't think it's a problem?????

You don't understand the point? Guts should inform players of currency change.... immediately!!!

Why? They'll (PnG games) always be set in EURO - it wasn't a sleight of hand or intention to deceive. The currency is listed as EURO when the game opens. You can always close the game and opt not to play it and resume in your normal currency.
And again, you already know now; it's not going to happen to you again. You've also pointed it out to the membership here.

I've never come across this before... I'd sign up for USD or Euro or AUD... not once have I ever had a casino decide what currency they WANT me to play in!!!

GUTS? You you aint getting another cent from me!!!!

Tell players of currency change!!

Some smartarses think you should know!!! Well we all don't... some just like to trust in that our money is in the currency we signed up for!!!

Yeah we get it already OP, everyone has acknowledged the currency switch sucks ass but as mentioned this is only on PnG games.

Play something else for now until it is rectified. The rep has already explained to you this is out of their control so if anything why don't you write a correspondence to Play n Go if it's so devastating to your wellbeing.

Everyone has agreed with your point, so why go on about it? Do you expect Guts to compensate you? Invent a Time Machine? Pull their PnG catalogue?

Send you a bouquet of flowers and apology letter signed by every member of staff?

Get over yourself

Dandan you seem to sometimes make more out of the situation then what is actually going on... Guts didn't change your account to euro or anything, neither were they monitoring you, and actively "decided" that from now you would only be allowed to play in euro.., it is simply a matter of ONE software provider who's games are in the offering, that apparently does not offer them in any other currency then euro's.

You can make a big deal out of it, but any person gambling with a currency that is relatively low vs the euro, would notice, or rather should notice a significant change in their balance, when switching to Play 'n GO.

At that point it would be simple case of checking with support, and then, after you had found out the games of Play 'n GO are only available in Euro's you could then decide to use Guts handy filter to make it easier for you to establish which games you don't want to play.. problem solved.

I don't think many other gamblers would make an issue out of it, and would rather see the Play 'n GO games only in euro's then not available at all, because someone may find it confusing.

I am only saying it in this tone, since you are acting like Guts is trying to screw you or make decisions for you.. as you stated they won't get another cent etc. which of course is your prerogative, but if you just stop, read what has been said, and think twice, you may decide that it would be a darn shame to not play in Guts anymore, as they are one of the best Casino's out there!

It isn't being a smartarse dandan, it's being a smart player - ie watching your balance and noticing the change/discrepency, acting on it, perhaps even pointing it out. The currency does tell you it's EURO when it opens. You made a bet (or several) in a currency you didnt wish to play in. It happens. Had you won, you'd have had a larger than normal balance from what you expected.

I'm not saying you didn't raise valid points. Who knows - casinos might opt to list a disclaimer going foward. I'm saying it's a mountain from a molehill. The PnG are in EURO. You know this and go ahead playing accordingly.

My least favorite casino by far

Customer service is terrible. Will never play there again. Lost $100 in a couple of hours and asked CS if they could throw anything in due to my bad luck. Their response is that's the luck of the draw -- nothing they could give me in terms of a wee bonus. Account is closed for good.

I think its really clear if your play on the playNgo slots they only offer EU currency. Could be annoying but nothing more. Why keep hammering on about it ? If you dont wanna play in Euros then dont play those slots that only can be played in Euros. Simple as that. Really do not see any issue here. The rep has explained the situation and be done with it

Goatwack you beat me to it, lol so here's the short version.

Mountain / molehill :eek::eek:

and Barbara I think you'll find Guts has one of the best CS out there, if you think otherwise you must only be a member of their casino alone lol

CS is not merited on the decline of a freebie, I've been told 'no' lots of times after particularly EVIL sessions but I still maintain my manners. They are a casino business at the end of the day and not a charity

Yes I will make a big deal out of it!!! It should be made clear when currency changes!!! I don''t care what bloody provider it is!! Just say so!!! Everyone says ... hey just check your balance! Well of course one does that!!!

One doesn't expect it to go from $ to E... I can't type the symbol on my keyboard because euroes aren't typically a currency used in this part of the world! However... when I choose to play in one currency I expect to do so.

If not... tell me so!!! I find it confusing that one minute I'm not playing in the currency I deposited in and in some games playing in. Oh but wait quote... you said... because someone may find it confusing. Huh?

What is today? Guys bash-day? :p
Oddly follow up on Guts B-day!

But @ barbara, i consider 100 for a couple of hours, pretty good.
If i hear "bad luck session" i am thinking more of losing 20 in 5 minutes on minimum bets or 100 in half an hour..
May i ask if this was your first deposit? If not there are lots of things to consider: are you up, or even, do you always ask for a comp after a losing session, have you gotten freebies there before, and would it be possible you have gotten a bunch already, and so on.

It's your choice to close an account at a whim, just for one hour long session that didn't produce a cashable win, or had much thrills in it,
but it's quite unfair to call that "poor customer service" since that is not what the majority would call it.. customer service consists of so much more then just handing out freebies: it's a mix of answering questions, technical or not, helping with errors or taking in feedback, and the complete package even includes pay outs and offering of multiple providers and currencies. That whole summary is where guts scores 9 out of 10, or even more, and that is what most gamblers are looking for.

Somehow i get the feeling you haven't really experienced poor customer service at all, and i am just hoping a tiny wee bit, that you do, so you have some more weight to put on your scale, and if you still feel the same way then, we may discuss it further:)
