Bet365, WTF???

So Bet365 have recently updated their casino site to make things a bit more streamlined and easier to navigate. They have removed the separate Games section.

Ok, so I went to deposit some money to play another session only to have a message which stated my account had been restricted and I could not deposit (makes a change from not being able to withdraw I guess! 😀

So I messaged them as I have been a pretty loyal customer for years and probabaly average around £100-150/month with them, sometimes a bit more, sometimes a bit less depending on how well I'm running. Here is the response I received:

"Hi Simon

I understand that you are contacting us regarding access to your Casino account

Following your enquiry we would like to inform you that Casino account is not and will not longer be available to you. This is a management decision.

Unfotunately I do not know the reason, these are internal processes of the department, which are not further announced.

We suggest that you do not try to open a new account, as it will be detected by the system and will also be blocked.

We sincerely thank you for your cooperation.

Kind regards.

Karolina W
The bet365 Team."

To be honest, I was angry. There is absoutely no reason for this whatsoever. They've even still got 5p of my money, which I feel like making a bit deal over just to be a pain in the arse. I have replied telling them I think this is a farce and that I would be messaging warnings to others.

I do have other options, although I'll miss their good game selection and high RTP. It's very much their loss, not mine. If they want to bin solid, if not monster, regular money then that's an interesting way to run a business.

Damn, that’s rough. Just shutting down your account with zero explanation is ridiculous, especially when you’ve been a regular player for years.

Honestly, this is why I stopped bothering with big-name casinos that treat players like numbers. Been playing on *whatever!* lately, and I like that it actually feels like they care about regulars.

But yeah, I’d definitely make a fuss over that 5p just to annoy them. They deserve the headache.

Yes it is possible your account flagged one of their systems, hence the decision they took. Unfortunately and sadly, the casino can do this. I mean, it used to be the case online sportsbooks and telephone betting operators would restrict punters, based on their form ie winning too much. But I guess now with all the concerns around RG et al, casino accounts are subject to the same, but for completely different reasons.

Morning. Thanks for the responses. It looks like they may have messed up here. My affordability is perfectly ok and I haven’t breached, or been sent, anything which would trigger this without at least a notification of some sort.

I sent a couple of messages about how I didn’t understand their reasoning and to refund me my 5p 😂. I also had three season long bets which I advised I wanted refunding (two of them are pretty much dead anyway).

They responded to say they reviewed my account again and I should now be able to access the site again, apologising for the inconvenience.

Strangely, even though it has been sorted pretty quickly, which is good, it’s somewhat put me off a bit. i always play well within my means but I didn’t even bother looking to play elsewhere last night as I just felt “what’s the point”. In some ways they probably have done me a bit of a favour. Not so much the money but there may be other things I can be doing. Time to get back on my PS5 a bit and read Nick Frost’s book.

Don't have to answer this but just out of interest (or maybe a prompt to yourself as to "Why?"

What's is your income/job/pension/credit score etc etc.
It was the first thing I was thinking. I know there has been talk about limits potentially being reduced to as low as £100/month but would think they’d at least give me heads up first.

It was clearly a bit of a mess at their end, although I still do not know for sure if that was the case or my strongly worded response got them to change their decision as I still have no idea why I was banned in the first place.

Please do not name-drop unknown dodgy casinos here - that is not what the forum is for.

Offending casino removed.
