First fines in Sweden after 2.5 months of regulation.

I love seeing Genesis getting a fine since I don't like them :)

The first weeks was incredible though with so many registering to Spelpaus, then searched around to see where they could sign up anyway.
If they managed to register they made deposits, and of course demanded the money back. The press felt sorry for the poor players. One was even in a place for treatment of gambling addiction at the time.

So I'm not surprised that some were fined. I thought it would be more of them than two though.

Im not a fan of Genesis either. But will probably be more getting fines. Was so many failures in the beginning from everyone. Also time span was too short to get ready for the licence in my view. It was made for failure.

I actually agree with this, when I saw what was happening I thought casinos would struggle to change in time, maybe some very small or extremely large ones could, but for mid sized ones with limited staff, it was never going to happen.

I really wonder how the casinos are doing up here now.
I can imagine many have just signed up to every casino using their welcome bonus, but after that to decide where to play is a hit and miss with no promotions at most places.

I would advice casinos that are now planning to have a Swedish license to think it over again.

paf are the most responsible gambling operator i can think of (anyone who has played there will know what I mean) and they are non profit.
even though its a small fine (10,000 euros approx) its sad to see.

cant comment on genesis never played there but they obviously got a much larger fine (400k eur approx)

I think it was a bit harsh to fine PAF as well. Just read why they got fined. They had a technical error on 1st January and fix the problem on 2nd January. I dont think they should receive a fine if they paid back the players, a warning had been enough if anything. We talking about 4 customers affected during this period of time accordingly to the statement.

On another note. On the 21st December they send out new requirements to operators which operators had 10 days to fix over Christmas period. They had to integrate spelpaus to their marketing system. The API was launched 26th December by Spelpaus. So operators had 5 days to review API and integrate.... They could at least had given it to 1st Feb before that was a requirement. 5 days over xmas is very hard.

I agree. Their tools for responsible gambling are one of the best, if not the best ones I've come across in the past two decades.

There's a fine line between over-regulation and personal responsibility. I would personally like to see more emphasis being put on the latter one.

I think we are in the calmness before the storm! And the bonus rules are just poorly written.

Yes they really are. And the thought of having to compete to even get customers while not knowing what you're allowed to offer and not must be hell.

Another government decimating their national casino industry. I was initially all for better regulation but in hindsite all I can see is Casinos shutting down, fewer bonuses and more red tape with the withdrawals.
